This is a cosy and calm place, and Mark is a wonderful and helpful host. The roof terrace and lobby are beautiful.

My stay was overshadowed by an event with booking; I booked the stay in advance and one hour after making the booking I realized I would need to stay for one extra night. I could not book it from Kelly’s courtyard since it was fully booked. Due to this, I requested to cancel my booking for free (there is a 50% cancellation fee) but they denied and said that I should stay that night in another hotel. This was a lot of extra stress for me, and as a lone female traveler it also put me in very uncomfortable situations since I got lost on my way from Kelly’s (where I dropped my big luggage) to other hotel. I really wish they could have been more flexible with the cancellation in this case. I was traveling for work and the wi-FI was working occasionally. The sound isolation is not the best and I also hope the breakfast would have some source of protein, like boiled eggs.

Stunning little hotel in the middle of a Hutong. Mark is very kind, the breakfast is wonderful and the rooftop is dreamy.

Its small a family guesthouse so it feels very friendly, much like being a private guest at their property. The courtyard is a nice meeting place. The staff is super helpful, gave lots of recommendations, booking tickets etc.

The shower and toilet was in one unit without barrier so taking a shower splashes water everywhere. You can easily hear through the door/windows to the courtyard.

Everything was great. The staff was really awesome and helpful.

I can only recommend staying with Mark! he is an absolutely excellent host. the hotel is in the western hutongs, meaning small streets and hard to find but once you are there, it is lovely. The best thing however is Mark. he is very fluent in English, has great recommendations and is always willing to help. i can definetly recommending getting a car via him and visiting the Great Wall! if I will come back to Beijing, I will stay at Kelly’s!

These days there are many kitschy and overpriced courtyard hotels in Peking. Not this one. This one is tastefully furnished, quiet, and welcoming. Both the courtyard and the roof terrace are great for relaxing with friends. The staff is extremely kind; although our booking did not include breakfast, we did get one, and as we had to leave early they offered it to us before their normal times (without us having asked). While the rooms are smallish as they tend to be in such places, there was no noise at night (which tends to be the other problem).

Mark is an amazing host. He will help you get the best out of your trip to Beijing. The whole atmosphere is really welcoming. Loved it!

unfortunately being there in Winter, it was a little bit cold around and in the breakfast room, but beautiful to stay in the warm season, I guess!!

Nothing. Liked everything about it

Most of all I liked the style of the hotel. It gave a feeling of typical chinese style cosy house. The staff were friendly and the hotel was clean.

We came here for our first vacation since 2020 started. The staff was incredibly helpful and nice. Especially the two aunties who helped me not forget a T-shirt I almost lost. The building is in a very cool old courtyard house in a very non touristy old Beijing style hutong. You’ll feel like you’re back in the Qing dynasty. Very close to the metro station and easy to get to any of the sights we wanted to see.

The rooms aren’t super private, there’s just a window and curtain separating you from the public courtyard. I didn’t mind because it’s all part of the charm being in an old house, but I could see this being a problem for some other people.

Great little hotel. The family lives there. It's beautiful inside and has an upper floor lounge and an outside balcony. The actual courtyard is covered with glass, retaining the outside feel but with comfort, no bugs or rain. The room was just one of the old courtyard rooms that they added a private restroom and shower to. I was the only person staying there but they still made me a great breakfast and were very accommodating.

This isn't so much a complaint about this particular place but more of much of Asia in general... The bathroom was lovely and clean, but they did the whole "shower next to the toilet" thing with no separation. Thus when you shower you get the toilet wet. I tend to shower at night before bed and that means that if you get up in the night to use the restroom the floor is wet or you have to wipe up the floor. This is a super minor point, but slightly disappointing.

It feels like an oasis within the neighborhood. Dan was extremely helpful and the staff was very attentive. Very quiet and once you locate yourself, you feel like experiencing an authentic chinese way of life. The hotel is in the middle of a traditional neighborhood. It felt very safe. The Hotel's location is superb close to 2 subway stations and very close to gigantic malls area, restaurants and shop galore. I truly enjoyed my stay there and surprisingly impressed with Beijing overall. They setup the hotel for people to celebrate Christmas with snacks and drinks, which it was a nice gesture and gave a small token to all the guests. Thumbs way up for me and I would give it a 9.5 score.

It would be hard to find by yourself if you don't speak the language because it is at the end of a very old traditional neighborhood alley. Thank God I arranged a taxi to pick me up and drop me at the hotel. It was night time.

Staff was very helpful and responsive. Decent breakfast coffee was a bonus.

Hot water is unstable and it was quite impossible to bath during winter - didn't manage to bath for 2 days. Location is quite far into a dead end alley and the surrounding hasn't got anything much walkable within 15min. Stain on towels...
