Have to walk up hill from Main Street which is steep and requires a torch at night. If you are frail this would be op difficult. Can walk to little Adams peak from accomodation if you go early and avoid crowd and heat. There’s plenty of drinks for sale all the way to the top.

The room view is spectacular. Truly awesome. Its one of the best views you'll get in ella. It's outstanding. The rooms are also very large. It's beautifully decorated with real wooden furnishings. The staff are very friendly and very accommodating, accommodated us when we had early morning trips by adjusting breakfast times. Despite any language barriers, they always had a smile and helped us! The view at breakfast is also stunning. The srilankan breakfast is delicious. The western one is simple so I would really recommend the srilankan one. Its so generous in portion and truly delicious. They were always happy to refill the curry bowls and keep the food coming! We were worried about the lack of ac initially but this really wasn't a problem. It's cooler than ella than in other areas of srilanka at night and plus they give you a fan. We will definitely stay here again and reccomend it to friends and family.

For improvement: I would suggest having a sheet of info in the room about breakfast times, options, room info, how to get a tuk tuk from staff, any other advice. Even though we can ask staff this, it would helpful to have all this info in the room written down. My advice is also that, it's unavoidable to get bugs in rooms but a few small tweaks can improve this. Some of the doors have big gaps between them, so it might be possible to seal the door better. Or even a good Knight plug for each room! Lastly, I think there's a chance the bed frame has a mild case of wood worm . You'd never notice this as a guest and it would not affect your experience. I'm just worried it would destroy the beautiful bed and other wood furnishings. We noticed small piles of dust under the bed and we've experienced wood worm before, so we know what the signs are! I hope this can help management fix the issue quick. Please don't let this put you off as a guest though.

Incredible view from our hotel room. The rooms are clean and specious. Staf is friendly and willing to help you with everything. We were also happy with their laundry service.

The location is good to explore Ella. Nice balcony and little kitchenette for shared use with tea maker. Nice rooms, great views and excellent breakfast.

Location is in the city Center, Spacious Room and Toilet, Big balcony with Ella Rock View, Great Breakfast, Very welcoming owner and his stuffs.

Obviously if you want a great view from your room in Ella, you need to stay in the hill. If you have luggage, tuk tuks are always there to take you up at only 200/300 LKR. Walking through train line is flat and will take you to the city Center in 10 minutes.

Decent clean rooms with beautiful view. The highlight was the Sri Lankan style breakfast. Staff are also very attentive

The road up the hill is not fully finished so our driver was a bit nervous getting there but it's only 4min from main road. I do not recommend walking there with luggage

The views were INCREDIBLE, rooms super clean, comfy bed, gorgeous bathroom, and the breakfast was delicious. We were so sad to leave. We had the top floor, and I think the best room with a walkout balcony. You wake up to paradise every morning. Completely worth the price!

Nothing really! Except maybe the fact that it’s not right into town. that didn’t bother us at all. It’s only a 10-15min walk to the center OR you can take the shortcut through the railroad tracks and get to the backside of town in 5min. BUT be mindful of the the train times, could be sketchy.

the view is the best in ella. you must book this place!! worth every penny to have coffee here at sunrise.

The staff and the location

There don’t clean the room every day and they don’t provide any basics such as shower gel, hand soap or shampoo. Beds are not comfortable and there is too much noise and light in the early morning.

The views from our room wow I couldn’t believe it, truly truly breathtaking! room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable, location was great for us short 10 minute walk to main road (bare in mind it is uphill coming back) but we enjoyed the walk too and from the hotel of a day / evening. WiFi worked great and the breakfast was also good , you got eggs your way with toast , pancakes and fruit. Staff were very friendly and happy to arrange anything we asked about :)

at times is was very noisy, our room led right on to the kitchen area and late at night and early morning the noise travelled a lot through our room. Not a major issue, but for light sleepers could be a tad annoying.
