Everything. Room felt like I was part of the jungle and mine had an amazing view over the trees, watching the sun come up was brilliant. I had a different delicious breakfast (with 2-3 courses) each morning. Staff were friendly and helpful, and provided useful advice on activities (eg hiking trails and they arranged a nice half day out to a tea plantation and dova cave temple) without a trace of pressure selling. Yoga with April was accessible and well pitched to my activities and I'd recommend. Short walk into town means it's quiet.

You need to be comfortable with close proximity to macaques. Others mentioned the lane, for me it was fine (and I saw fireflies in the bushes)

Asanka and his team were extremely helpful and attentive throughout our short stay. Tuk Tuk transport too & from the hotel to town. Exceptional breakfast. Room felt like a slightly dated European mountain chalet - very comfortable though for a family of 5. We also did a great Yoga class with Alice who was very generous with her support for several beginners. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly- thank you

Nothing to dislike. Perhaps the room could do with modernising a bit but the 70s style decor is part of its charm.

excellent stay, the staff went above and beyond helping with all our bookings and suggestions, the breakfast was great, the meditation and yoga which was arranged on request (and run daily at 7am) was fantastic- really glad we did it and highly recommended

An absolute gem!! Beautiful property hidden in the jungle, with the nicest staff, great yoga class and an amazing cooking lesson by the chef. Could not recommend more!

The staff are lovely. Considering I was a solo female traveller I had my concerns but they made me feel very comfortable and made sure I did tours with their tour partners only. The treehouse / cabin is full of serenity! The monkeys can be a little scary first thing in the morning but you’re reassured by the staff that they will not get in. Highly recommend a morning yoga session with Michael too! Started my day off perfectly.

Location is perfect but I didn’t feel comfortable walking alone into town because the road is very dark at night. There’s quite a few ants in the bathroom especially but that’s expected when you’re in the middle of the jungle. I had a night in one evening and would have loved a glass of wine but they do not serve alcohol.

Arana Eco Lodge is 100% recommendable. It is so beautiful and relaxing there - it is in the middle of the jungle and you can hear so many different animal noises. Although being so quiet, you can walk to Ella centre in just 10min. Our room was amazing, from the bed you could see squirls, monkeys, birds and all the beautiful nature. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. The breakfast very yummy and freshly prepared. I also signed up for Yoga classes every morning and Arith was one of the best yoga teachers I have ever had. I was the only one and instead of 90min the class was always 2 hours long and I felt very rejuvenated after. In general, Ella is amazing and so worth going there and staying in the Arana Eco Lodge.

The yoga classroom is quite basic. I would have enjoyed doing it open air with the noise of the nature and not in front of the wall…

Whata beauty!!

Beautiful rooms in the jungle, falling asleep with the sounds of nature, the birds, frogs and waterfalls. Delicious breakfast and most helpful staff. Also the yoga Shala is magical. Thank you for the great stay. 🧡

The place has excellent location, built in peaceful jungle yet 10 min walking distance to town. I loved my room with 360° view feeling like in tree house. The hosts were very helpful and attentive, the food amazing. Little oasis in busy Ella.

I liked the location it was just perfect so peaceful and relaxing. This location has some amazing views and the staff are lovely. We did the cooking class which I would recommend the food was so tasty and was really interesting.

WIFI was not great

If you are looking for peaceful Eco vegetarian/vegan accommodation in the middle of the jungle, but still walking distance from Ella town Arana Eco Lodge is the place you need to be. Owners are such a lovely people, everything is made with love and care and you will feel like home. Rooms are spacious clean and you will feel like living in the treehouse. Breakfasts and food is delicious. You can have yoga and meditation classes twice a day or cooking class and they will also organize day trips and transportation for you. It's one of the best places I stayed in Sri Lanka and if you love nature but also cleanless and comfort I highly recommend this place.

Feels very tropical, rooms surrounded by trees, nice to wake up to a beautiful view of the hills through branches. Did the cooking course which was fantastic, thank you Suresh! He also sent us the recipes which is great. Yoga with Anna very enjoyable too. Helped organise our stay in the local area. Lovely people, beautiful setting, definitely recommend.

Property on the side of a hill, which is steep down from main road to reception, and then to rooms. Takes a bit of effort so not recommended for people of limited mobility. About a 15 min walk to the centre of town, road quite busy, so we got a tuk tuk at 300rupes.

This facility is embedded in a naturally grown landscape, in the middle of a forest with a slope. The flora and fauna is unique. I've never seen anything like it myself. Here you can feel the original, relax and meet like-minded people who also enjoy this breathtaking place. The guests are looked after very lovingly and professionally. The demanding yoga treatments speak for themselves and you can indulge in culinary delights and even experience cooking classes. That's just great! Thank you very much
