We were the only persons there so it was leaveable otherwise it would have been a nightmare not enough wc shower room in the kitchen and table for eating if more capsule were booked

The heater were all closed when we arrived so it was cold. We were a groupe of four and one of us had a card witch could open every capsule and every locker so it didn't feel safe to leave any thin valuable inside. There are only 2 bathroom for girls (with wc shower in the same room, with bad smell) and one commune shower for man (2 showers in a small room)+ 2wc The kitchen is well furnished in dishes but you can cooked for 2 groups max at the same time and there are only 2 big tables (in the cold lobby) Happily we were only us for +1 personne in the capsule but it would be a nightmare in term of wc/shower/kitchen if the 50 capsules were booked. The capsule make a lot of noise opening closing and when you use the "stair" so not a quiet night

Very easy check in

hard to find, the entrance is on Heiðarvegur instead of Herjólfsgata. There were several toilet stalls for men and none for just women, just one mixed restroom and one for disabled people.

the noise was a joke people coming in and out slamming the capsule doors all night I didn’t get more than 2 hours sleep I found this ridiclous I have stayed before and never had a problem. but this was not acceptable people drunk making so much noise

Good location, friendly staff, a lot of privacy, everything is clean. The bedsheets were changed immedately after the check out.

The capsules are only plastic and one can hear very well what is happening outside, but some people were not able to underdtand it and were very loud in the morning. I think there should be some signs to remind others to be silent.

I like that it was near the harbour, only few people were checked-in.

Some of the occupants are loud and disturbing. I don't like the bed because it's too noisy when you move. The pillow is not comfortable.

The pods are fun (albeit gimmicky), there's lots of settings to play around with and you feel like in a spaceship. The extra lockers are a nice bonus.

There is basically no sound insulation in the pods, and we heard someone snoring at the other end of the dorm. One of our pods was missing a smoke detector (which seemed scary in a piece of plastic filled with tech), and some of the technical features in the other pod didn't work (a TV and the alarm clock) - we didn't need them, but it was a shame still.

The place was very clean! Mother and daughter working in the place are very nice (English not so great). Reception is around back (it's the same Reception for the hotel with private rooms in that same building). Pods are really cool if you haven't stayed in a capsule hostel before this is a fun experience. Location is perfect, 5 min walk from ferry, supwrmarket is around the corner. Pizza place next door is OK.

Very small kitchen, small shared area could get crowded when hostel is full. Capsules' doors opening and closing pretty loud so you can hear everyone getting in and out of their pods at night and morning. Lockers are too small. Pods area walls are black and light is minimal so it's pretty dark.

We booked this place last minute because unfortunately torrential rain meant we couldn’t camp. We were extremely grateful to the family staff for facilitating us even though it was quite late. They were very friendly and helpful. Although I was a bit confused by the capsules at first it eventually was fine and I had a good sleep, they are comfier than you expect and offer such good privacy compared to your usual hostel. they even have TVs, lights and a mirror etc. I would say it was good value for money! The staff were extremely helpful when I got into trouble with the lockers (my own fault). If you are staying the the westmann islands I would recommend this place for sure! The facilities were quite good, I didn’t use them but they offer clean bathrooms and showers etc.

At first I was confused because google maps took us to the wrong side which has a different hotel name but other than that it’s fine, just be aware to avoid confusion!

Central location and fun place to be

- the only thing I would have liked different was, that when 20 italiens check in at 10/11 pm. the personal could please tell them not to make so much noise for 2-3 hours so that everybody else could not sleep...

Bathrooms made no sense at all. Shower and toilet are in the same room so if some one is in the toilet you cannot shower….. facilities smell bad. People are very noisy at night, and the internet is very slow. But you pay what you get.

Amazing friendly staff, best quality/money ratio, super clean. Super hostel!

Staff was very slow and had no sense of urgency. The only employee at the puffin pod hostel was nice but she could have been working a little faster on a busy summer day. Bath towels towels are not included and must be rented for a fee. Towels should not cost extra.

New experience for us, but I have to say we enjoyed it, the capsules are spacious

The technology aspect of the stay was interesting.

The entrance was not well marked. I was not aware that it was attached to another hotel.
