Good location, 15 minute walk to a main strip of bars and restaurants

Had an en-suite room that was not clean in the slightest. Bedding didn’t look like it had been changed and bathroom had lots of mould. Bedroom smelt like damp. Definitely not somewhere you want to sleep after a long day out!!

First of all, Our first night in flashpackers was horrible. Why? When we first walked in it smelled disgusting and it wasn’t clean. The swimming pool was dirty as well and there was a weird vibe of the people that are living there permanent (apparently). There were a lot of bedbugs on the mattress, so not clean at all. Secondly, one of the girls from the reception told us she could bring us to the greyhound bus at 6am and we wrote our names on a paper so they would remember. Unfortunately, nobody showed up, and an Uber was not possible. So we missed our bus and the next one was full, so we ended up making more cost because all of this :(

Abbiamo soggiornate in una camera con bagno privato. La struttura è pulita e fornita di una grandissima cucina molto ordinata e funzionale. La mattina è prevista una buona colazione. Lo staff è accogliente e disponibile a supportare ogni esigenza (in particolare la bravissima Stefania). Si percepisce che le camere siano state ristrutturate di recente, anche il bagno è in buone condizioni. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.

Had a great time staying here whilst travelling through Hervey Bay. The hostel has a really nice common area which makes it very easy to get talking and meet people if you’re travelling solo. Also the staff were incredibly helpful in letting me stay for the afternoon after checking out as my bus wasn’t until 9pm. They even gave me a lift down to the bus station !

Nothing I can complain about, it’s a hostel so your experience will always depend on who’s there with you but they couldn’t have done any more.

Skitne fellesareal med fulle og luktende bossbøtter og fullt av fluer. Fikk mange stikk/bitt på ryggen ila natten - ganske sikker på at det var veggedyr

Excellent friendly staff

It a very nice hostel. Fully equipped with a big clean kitchen. The rooms are clean and not too small. Super friendly staff!

Really welcoming and lovely staff! The place felt like home being away from home.. Everyone's quite lovely and inviting. Easy to get intouch with other travelers nevertheless there some long-termers around. Love the hostel events on the weekends! They even provide a free shuttle for several arrivals. Can definitely recommend staying here

Smooth check in, really nice staff members and great value for money. For a hostel and for the price, it was fantastic! They also had a free cheese and wine night when we arrived which we didn't stay for but it had a nice vibe.

No soap in the shower. To close to a main road, the room was not quiet. Floor was not well cleaned with soil.

The rooms were very clean and lots of room for bags. The kitchen and communal space is the best I have seen in any hostel in Australia, lots of room for cooking and socialising.

Your kitchen was well stocked with implements and space to work in. Also well organised was appreciated. Your staff maintained the facilities well. I would suggest that spacing electric defusers around the living space will promote a better first impression. We don't pick up on smells when we are in the same environment but visitors will and I certainly did.

I understand costs, but I think it could benefit from newer furniture (which could be sourced from your local opportunity shop) And a paint job will always give a space a positive feel.

The layout of the property is great; a large kitchen and walk-in fridge are located in a spacious large high-ceiling loungeroom/ dining area. The walk in fridge is a real gem- always plenty of fridge space! The accommodation is in a large separate building, about 10m away, and easily accessible from both the kitchen and carpark. At the back of the kitchen area is a small courtyard with barbeque and dining area. Next to this is a swimming pool. Noise control is good, due to kitchen / dining area being totally separate from the bedrooms, and the kitchen building being totally enclosed. The property itself is set on a large block, and there is adequate parking on site

While the parking is set away from the living areas, the main access is across a grassed area with mostly no footpath. This would become muddy in wet weather ( which I didn't experience fortunately) The guest laundry is set next to the carpark, so would have the same issue. It is worth mentioning that there is (limited) parking on the street next to the main entrance, which can be used to load/ unload luggage without parking on wet grass or walking too far in the rain. The property is really showing its age; there are many maintainance tasks left undone eg small holes in plaster walls, peeling paint, overgrown gardens and trees. The pool has also seen better days, and didn't look inviting ( and nobody swam in it, but it was late May so water was cold) The walk in fridge is still working well, but is ( and looks ) really old. I did wonder what would happen when it stops working- its days must be numbered... The "hanging " chairs in the back courtyard are a hazard- I saw two people fall out of them in the short time I was staying! Please remove them before some one gets injured and sues!! Cleaning- while the staff are attentive to basic daily cleaning of the bathrooms and kitchen, the whole place needs a deep clean ( and painting) The bedrooms also should be fully vacuumed each day, and wet mopped when empty. Bedding- the mattresses are full inner spring, many are nearing end of life and thus not a comfortable as they should be. Most of these issues are minor and could be fixed reasonably easily, but as a place thaţ is a FLASHpackers, not just a backpackers, I would expect a higher level of maintenance and care. I am looking forward to visiting again, and hopefully the property will then be restored to its former glory, fully worthy of the FLASHpacker name.

scammed money from my credit card (lied that we lost a room key, when we returned them both as agreed). beds werent made when we arrived late at night and were missing blankets etc. bathroom light not working. no trashcans in the kitchen.

It's not a party hostel, so I could stay there relax and comfy.

sometimes, the stuff are not at the reception and I have to pay 4$ when I storage my luggage.
