The whole building had a cool vibe like I was a time traveller

Everything. The room was very comfortable, the staff helpful and friendly but most of all the location and atmosphere brilliant.

Fabulous location, and the hotel lived up to expectations. We loved the rooms, the furnishings and the general atmosphere.

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying at The County Hotel, a remarkable boutique 'bougee' establishment that truly sets the bar high for luxury hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the most beautiful host and service. The level of service was, seemless and impeccable, creating a warm, kind professional atmosphere.
The culinary experience at The County Hotel was also a highlight. The in-house restaurant and bar offers a diverse menu that caters to all palates and presentated with artistic flair.
The newly renovated Hotel bar struck the perfect balance between ambiance, elegance and coziness. The bar menu also boasting a selection of fine wines, beers, spirits and cocktails making it an ideal spot for both casual evenings and special occasions.
It's clear the owner (Angela) of The County Hotel takes pride in her hotel. Her presence adds a personal touch that's rare in Aotearoa Hotels.
The County Hotel is more than just a place to stay; it's an experience in itself. With its unparalleled hospitality from Angela, attentive staff, exquisite dining, great cuisine/menu from head chef (Richard), most gorgeous room and attention to detail in every aspect, it truly stands out for us as one of our beautiful accommodations. Whether for business or leisure, it's an establishment that we highly recommend and eagerly return to in Napier.

Staff members are warm and welcoming. Best thing is a gated Parking which comes with the room just infront of hotel and hotel is located in CBD area. It's hard to get parking out there.

Excellent location and very friendly staff. Duty manager Callum was an extremely helpful staff member who knew the locality well. Very clean rooms and the daily turnout service was very much appreciated.
The beds were a little too much on the soft side. The beds were not uncomfortable but if they were a bit firmer it would have helped immensely to get 8 hours of sleep. Look forward to the restaurant and bar operating in the Summer.

The hotel is in an old building, in the heart of town. The bed was quite comfortable. This is not a 5 star hotel.
The property is dated budget/ kitch place with no services / no round the clock reception. It feels more like an air b n b than a well run hotel. Advertising it as a five star property is a mistake, as the feel is as if you are staying at an absent grand-mother's summer house, not the Ritz in Vienna.

Beauty-full hotel that makes you feel like a movie star in the ‘30s. Which is the perfect feeling, being in Napier, the Art Deco Capital! Good room, impeccable service. Don’t miss a decadent night at the Churchill’s Bar and Wine Street Restaurant.

I liked the feel. Inside is like stepping back in time, but not run down at all. The timber and leadlite glass are beautiful. We had a large deck and a good view. The bar is cosy and the staff are friendly and good humoured. The food was delicious.
The toilet leaked and the remote batteries were flat. I reported this when I checked out. It didn't detract from the stay.

the tv kept switching on and off and we eventually gave up as of was too late to ask for help. the fan is very noisy. decor is quite worn

very warm welcome from Angie when we arrived the room was lovely with a spa bath the hotel is full of quirky things as was an old civic building. on site parking and right in the Art Deco area of Napier. easy walk to the town centre
we ate in the restaurant one night and the meal was first class. would definitely recommend staying here

Great central location. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Got upgraded to a suite - which was so lovely to have that extra space. It’s old world charm. Would def stay again. 😀👌
