The hotel room was clean, modern and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has nice views of the countryside and is just 10 minutes or so from Vik and close to the eastern sights.

A good location for visiting Dyrholaey and Renisfjara. A bit isolated, but luckily the place has its own restaurant with good food. Also, not too far from Vik, if one want to go out for dinner. Good, clean and comfortable rooms. Friendly staff.

Of course, I didn't like it when I got stuck in the snow in the parking area, but it was great that the staff came out to help me dig and push. Iceland in winter, always fund.

Everything! There are a small number of rooms allowing a very personalized stay. Dinner, drinks and breakfast were excellent. The room was clean and had really nice down duvets on the beds to keep us warm. Laundry service is available and it was reasonably priced. Overall, a great value.

The owner was so welcoming and helpful. Lots of parking for cars. Fantastic location not far from Vik but away from the light pollution. We had an amazing view of the Northern lights. We were very lucky. Rooms were very warm and cosy but you could also control the heat in the room with the heater. Gorgeous stewing for a small hotel. Breakfast was delicious and simple, exactly what we needed before a big day of exploring. will stay again if we’re back.

Very limited choice for dinner. Not everyone likes fish or lamb. So we had to drive back into Vik to get something to eat.

The staff and what the Volcano Hotel has to offer is beyond worth it. My wife and I stay with them every year now and I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Vik. The breakfast offering, in addition to the dinner they make on-site is delicious and fresh. The sights are peaceful and welcoming. Just so beautiful and ideal. This hotel not only has my business for years to come but also my heart as well.

breakfast options could be better

The owner and staff were always available and generous with their time, knowledge and made us feel very welcome. The renovation from a school to a hotel has been done with care and the furnishings and fixtures are very tasteful. It feels authentic and comfortable. Parking is plentiful and the short drive to Vik is lovely. The breakfast is ample and the coffee delicious.
