Would 100% stay here again - beautiful grounds, large spacious room and excellent proximity to Montezuma waterfalls. Staff very nice and accommodating - organized our early morning taxi out and breakfast service great. We had breakfast included and were very happy with it, chose the same option both mornings and was made to order. Excellent coffee! We enjoyed the pool both days and walked to the falls via access at Canopy tours (4$ USD access, opens at 8h30, ~5min walk down the road). We didn't have a car so included breakfast was a must. The hotel has a booklet of restos to order from but 2 out of 3 nights we did the 30min walk downhill for dinner and took taxi back up ($10US or 5000 colones). OH...king size bed in villa was SUPER comfy, AC worked well and the deck was large and great to have. PLUS we walked up to the yoga shala at the top of the property for sunrise with ocean views and I was able to do my own solo practice. It is so well set up with wifi up there so I was able to play music on a portable speaker I brought and there are yoga mats, blocks, and cleaner for guest use. Also a yoga mat in the room! There are scheduled yoga classes throughout the week (usually twice per day) that guests can pay for as well.

We stayed in the villa with the outdoor shower which was lovely but at night there were a lot of ants in our room and I found a whole bunch in my luggage. I would suggest a second suitcase holder in the room to ensure more than one suitcase can be held off the ground and for guests to keep any clothing hanging or in their zipped up luggage. And food or garbage has to be put away immediately. We knew there'd be bugs with the outdoor shower but a sealed glass door between the two or ant traps in the bathroom and kitchen could be an idea. That being said, we'd 1000% stay there again!

we loved how secluded it was from the boho town, yet felt luxurious. We loved the amenities (lap pool and the amazing view from the yoga studio) beautiful property !

The staff were very personable and helpful. Johanna, Nina and Isamar ensured our stay was a pleasant one! Breakfast at the property is also fantastic and prepared really well!

Is pristine and perfectly located, the rooms are huge and very clean, super confortable to travel with family. Pools are very nice, parking close to the rooms and the outdoor restaurant is very convenient.

Avis hotel gave us an excellent refuge and wonderful service with great facilities such as the pool amazing breakfast clean and comfy rooms with a large comfy bed.

Aves hotel was a great hotel in all senses! Rooms are impeccable and extremely clean and comfortable. Breakfast was generous and delicious; the staff was wonderful and made us feel at home. Thank you Mike, Johana, Aracely and all the nice people for a stay that we will remember for a long time!

We had a very good time at Aves Hotel. It is a great spot from where to explore beautiful Montezuma. The hotel is up the hill, a very short drive from the village center. The owner and his team were all very attentive and made us feel at home. The girls loved the pools. it wasn’t always easy to convince them to leave the hotel.

Can't agree more with the most positive reviews already posted! Definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for comfort and relaxation surrounded by wildlife - hummingbirds, agoutis, cappuccino monkeys, and other wonderful representatives of the local fauna. The atmosphere of the hotel, where part of the hotel guests are instructors and yoga students, provides peace and quietness. Some inconsistencies with the accommodation booking were resolved in our favour and to our complete satisfaction. Thanks to Mike and the hotel staff for their attention and hospitality. The villas are well equipped and decorated, very comfortable beds (important for people with back problems), very clean. Small 'Pura Vida' type town 5 min down the hill. Would like to come back one day, and recommend with no hesitation!

Our best place in all of Costa Rica!

By far the nicest place I stayed at in Costa Rica, it is just such a beautiful place, the rooms are actually small houses wonderfully designed, very comfortable beds, 2 swimming pools, a place to practice yoga with amazing view of jungle+ocean, great value for money!

it is a bit of a drive uphill from the town so you must have a car to get there, the road is quite bad so you need a tall car and it makes it a bit of a hassle going in and out of town but has the advantage of being more secluded and private on the other hand. At the time I stayed there they didn’t have the option for yoga classes which was a bit of a shame, and you don’t have an option for lunch/dinner at the hotel which could have been nice as going to town was a bit of a hassle

Everything! Stating at the great welcoming tour at the place, the room was just incredible! Huge and very comfy bed, the outdoor shower was super, the pool was very clean! Everything about this place was just amazing!!

Everything was really amazing! Our apartment was really lovely and super comfortable. The entire property was incredible. Everyone who worked there was really nice and helpful. We also had the pleasure to meet the owners that were really really nice!

Aves hotel was gorgeous—an absolute paradise. The staff was incredible. When our car tire was low they helped us pump our tire and let us keep the pump until we got our tire fixed. Always going above and beyond. We didn’t see a hotel even close in luxury as the Aves in the peninsula area!
