Very Cozy and Secluded. Completely remodeled beautiful back apartment
Bel appartement arrière entièrement rénové dans un tri-plex construit en 1859. Situé dans le quartier historique de Westside Springfield, IL. Près du centre-ville, de Washington Park, des sites historiques et des magasins. La maison a été construite à l'origine en dix-huit cinquante-neuf comme une maison unifamiliale. À la fin des années trente, il a été transformé en triplex. Lorsque nous avons rénové la propriété, nous l'avons laissée comme un triplex.
Hermit's Hideaway est situé à l'arrière d'une charmante maison (originale) de 1859, principalement rénovée. Idéalement situé, à environ un mile du centre-ville, des hôpitaux et de Washington Park.
Il y a des sols en mosaïque et de la mosaïque dans la cuisine. Beaucoup de touches personnalisées partout. Très calme, confortable et isolé. Vues du coucher du soleil depuis le salon.
Magnifique étang à carpes en gradins dans la cour avant, au printemps et en été, des fleurs sans fin. Nous n'utilisons aucun poison dans la cour et avons créé un grand jardin de papillons et chaque année nous recevons de plus en plus de papillons! Les monarques sont des machaons sont les plus abondants, mais nous en avons une grande variété. Dans la cour arrière est notre poulailler, nous avons actuellement seulement 7 poulets non pondus avares. Au printemps 2020, nous aurons 5 nouveaux petits poussins et j'espère qu'ils seront plus coopératifs que nos vieilles filles. :)
Nous avons à peu près fini avec un remodelage total de la maison / tri-plex - c'est un tri-plex depuis les années 1940. Nous habitons à l'étage. Le projet de rénovation global est achevé à environ 95%. Cet endroit est l'occasion de séjourner dans une maison vraiment unique, sur un terrain d'un hectare au milieu du côté ouest historique. Nous possédons également un duplex sur la propriété et avons également mis en place des locations airbnb. Lorsque le temps coopère, l'arrière-cour est irrésistible. Nous installons un potager géant chaque année. Nous avons des poiriers, des pêchers, des cerisiers et des pommiers, ainsi que des fraises, des framboises et des mûres.

House was exactly as picture shows. It was a very quiet neighborhood. We had great weather & it was wonderful sitting on the back deck & listening to the waterfall koi pond.

The apartment was really clean, cozy and had everything I could have wanted. I loved the interesting decor, and the outdoor flower gardens and koi pond were so beautiful— I wish I could have stayed longer!

Very beautiful!! Loved all the artwork and the details of the place. The outside is stunning!! I found 15 little ducks in the place,don’t know how many more there were but being a Jeep family is was a great touch. I would stay again!!

The front yard is filled with flowers, then when you walk to the back yard there are more flowers, a koi pond, chicken coop and a sitting area. Inside was colorful and filled with beautiful decorations on the walls. The tile work in the bathroom is fun and leads to a deep bathtub for relaxing. Bed was comfortable. The only bad thing was that we only stayed one night, we will be back.

Wish I could rate this property higher than a 5 star! Very relaxing, private and clean. We loved our stay here and hope to return in the future. There is also a great coffee shop less than a block away. Highly recommend 👌

This place was like an arboretum in the city. We had coffee with koi! The art and decor and craftsmanship was superb; we kept finding new fun things that we hadn’t seen. The hosts were very nice and pleasant to talk to. It was clear that a lot of love and care went into this space. We are looking for a reason to go to Springfield again just to go back. :)

This quaint mystical getaway is filled with charm and character! Air works great, very quiet, all amenities provided, clean, excellent accommodations, and overall impressed with everything!

The unit itself was very very nice and clean.
The property itself was awful. Yard full of junk and not well kept at all. Our unit had a small open porch outside our door that you used to walk in to the unit and it was awful. Junk, ashtray with used cigarettes, old tools and anything u could think of and looked like had been like that a long time. The backyard “paradise” was the same way. Unfortunately this rental is not in a nice neighborhood. I’m sad to report this as they appear to be nice people

The apartment was wonderful. Great neighborhood and convenient location. It was big and spacious and had everything you need. Bed and pillows were very comfortable and quiet. Parking was available. Justin and Elena were so nice and gracious. I give them my highest recommendation.

Wonderful to weekend at this adorable apartment! We were celebrating our anniversary, and picked a great place! Close to everything, and yet felt private and peaceful as well.

We felt like we were in the Caribbean. Everything was cheery and nicely furnished. There was every thing we needed for our stay. I had arranged this trip to spend quality time with my Grandson to talk about life with Jesus and had very successful weekend.

I love all of this hosts units however this is my fav. It has a deck overlooking the peaceful koi pond. Also great kitchen, lovely bedroom and bath. Next time I will stay longer for r & r.

Although the approach to the property was a bit confusing, the unit itself was terrific: clean, comfortable, well-equipped, and cheery. Also a convenient location for visiting the Lincoln Museum and Library, the focus of our visit to Springfield.

Hermits Hideaway is a fun, eclectic, cozy space. It was super clean and provided every convenience that you could need or want. I would recommend this spot to anyone visiting the Springfield area.

We only stayed one night, but would have gladly stayed for more. The eclectic interior design style was a welcomed break from the sterility of typical hotel rooms. Enjoy the tiling craftsmanship and bold colors while you peruse one of many books on a variety of topics placed throughout. Their home is within a historic neighborhood and only a mile or so from the downtown Springfield area and the Lincoln Home and Museum and Library. Thank you for a brief but wonderful stay!

Very quiet neighborhood. Close to fairgrounds. Koi pond was nice to have coffee next to in the morning.
Incredibly clean. Fluffy towels. Eclectic property and decorating. Many books to read- I could return for days just to enjoy the book choices. Loved the flowers outside.
We will probably return to spend more time to explore the history of the area.

Want something cozy? And something a little different but yet nothing crazy!! Stay here. We loved it!! Everytime you look around, you see something unique and random!! Super close to the fairgrounds. We absolutely loved it!!! Bed was so comfy...bonus!

Colorful and interesting little place. Well stocked with everything you might need. The owner has done a lot of renovations and gives careful attention to detail. We would stay again if we have the opportunity to come through Springfield again.

The apartment was amazingly quirky--always finding some new, small, cool detail. Clean with all the amenities to cook a good meal. Plenty of space. Really enjoyed talking with the property owner. Only want was a toaster. Highly recommend this place!

We spent the final night of our vacation at this VRBO and it was the BEST night's stay all-around. Quiet, spacious, clean, all new furnishings, bed was VERY comfortable (we slept great, NO noisy bedframe...mattress was perfect), harmonious eclectric and vibrant decor....very comforting and COOL! Within minutes of restaurants. Would/will stay again. Thank you Elena!

We weren’t quite sure what to expect as we drove through Springfield toward this apartment, but Hermit’s Hiding Place was more than we expected. Everything was clean, and well maintained. The decor inside put us at home, and we had everything we needed for the weekend. The koi pond outside the windows drowned out the city noise and helped us really relax on our weekend in Springfield. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Springfield!

I’ve stayed at many different Vrbo properties and this is the best one in so many ways. A true oasis in the midst of Springfield. Peaceful and serene and pleasant. One of the better nights of sleep I’ve had. I would make this place a destination and occasionally venture out to see the history of Lincoln Land

Everything was excellent. It's in a unique and convenient neighborhood, and the apartment is beautiful and comfortable, with a pond and deck out back and lots of colorful touches inside.

Elena & Justin's place is nothing short of magical. The gardens are gorgeous, the apartments are unique, beautifully decorated, comfortable, and meticulously upkept, and the hosts are top notch. What started as a random vrbo pick has now become a forever favorite.
