Fabulous property, great host, lovely location

Property located in a nice quiet village. Very beautiful surroundings. Enough parking for guests.
The building is very English outside and inside. It was a perfect opportunity to have a feel of an old English house, it has a character an a feeling of traditional home stay. Inside the property seems like a family museum with loads of objects on display. The house has National Trust vibes.
My son has asthma so his condition was aggravated my the smells of the old house and dust in heavy curtains, carpets, sheets. There were no proper duvet but a few layers of wool blankets and a thin sheet. Obviously nobody would wash those wool blankets every time, so they’re full of dust and were used by the previous guests. Towels had damp smell.
We didn’t like breakfast either. We were seated in a kitchen at the same table with the other guests that was awkward. We prefer to eat quietly and not having to interact with strangers.
Theirs is a big clock just outside the room that strikes every hour, so at nighttime I was waken up every hour by the clock strikes. Even in my sleep I knew exactly what time it was :)

The lady who owned the old school was absolutely amazing and very accommodating, the rooms were a great size, plenty of room for your clothes i will also mention that there are 2 very lovely dogs Cora and Holly, very friendly. Stayed there for the silverstone Grand Prix 20 minutes and there and back great place to stay if you are thinking of attending.
Low ceilings bit thats me just putting something in this box banged my head every morning, but that's on me, haha

Sally-Anne is the nicest lady. She looked after us all really well and nothing was too much trouble.
The property is absolutely beautiful. The only thing that could of been better was the pressure of the water in the shower, other than that, it was a cosy stay.

Sally - Anne was friendly, kind and made me feel very comfortable. Check in was very easy, the location was beautiful and parking was easy. The breakfast was lovely and the shower was very good. It was very homely environment and her two dogs are also very lovely and welcoming. I came with my 2 whippets and they also had a very relaxed and comfortable time! I would definitely return.
The wifi in the room could have been better, but not a big issue.

My offer of walking her dogs was enjoyable, however once I started my full-time job, it was unfeasible and her continually asking if I had walked her dogs, I found irritating it was not an obligation, but my kindness, this concept she did not. The landscape was amazing, and I love every minute I was outdoors. I enjoyed the open space in the lounge and the beauty of the gardens overlooking the house, the peaceful quietness of the countryside field walks. The bed was soft and amazing to sleep in and my room was peaceful and spacious.
The owner came to the door on crutches (1yrs on crutches impacts on her abilities to preform basic task), I was horrified. The kitchen floor was covered in dog hairs making it dirty, the owner asked for assistance to put sheets in her room upstairs, carry sheets to her kitchen shove and help her fix a laundry rail. (I am her paid guest not her housekeeper. this I found irritating). In the lounge I picked up a listed of instructions about being able to cook food in the kitchen, I made some food only to be told the list I found was for AIrbnb not for booking.com, guest, this made me embarrassed and uncomfortable. A couple of hours later Sally Anne decided I could use her kitchen which made the stay pleasant. The lounge was cold, the fireplace should have been lit to keep the place warm. I would have preferred to eat all my meals in the dining room separately daily. No cook breakfast was provided, and self -service for food. The breakfast provide cereal, slice of toast, tea, and orange juice insufficient as I expected a full cook breakfast that why I booked this stay and was very disappointed, her housekeeper not turning up, a backup helper on your books is essential my stay could have been a dream as advertised and a full cook breakfast, fire lit to warm the lounge.

A beautiful family home and Sally-Anne
welcomed us very warmly. The bed was so
comfortable I didn’t want to get up!

The reception and helpfulness of the owner and her friend were excellent. It was like staying with family or friends. The area was quiet which I needed as I had to get up early and needed to sleep.
I would have preferred an ensuite.

The host was absolutely lovely, and a joy to be with.
Nothing, I had a lovely comfortable stay.

The owner was pleasant and made me feel welcome. There was a very comfortable lounge and the house was in a pleasant village. I had the continental breakfast which was good.
There was hardly any space in the room - it would have been better suited to a double bed not twin beds. The drawers smelled of ancient tobacco and there were cobwebs. The room needed to be redecorated. The beds had a sheet, 2 blankets, quilt and cover - a pain to make up.

Breakfast was excellent, served in a beautiful 17th century kitchen and cooked while I waited, The room was clean, very comfortable and I had two great nights' sleep. The hostess was very friendly and met all my needs well.
The local pub was not serving meals so I had to drive to Bicester (3 1/2 miles) for an evening meal No complaints otherwise.
