Pour maintenir la beauté de notre paysage naturel, nous avons travaillé en étroite collaboration avec une entreprise de construction de la piscine locale pour créer un environnement spécial - paisible et tranquille. La piscine familial dispose de 2 piscines + 2 jeux d'eau.
Notre piscine principale est 8m de long et 4 m de large (26 pieds de long et 13 pieds de large) Profondeur est variable 1. 1m à 5m 1. (3 pieds 6 pouces à 5 pieds) et est accessible par des marches dans l'extrémité ou la piscine peu profonde dans l'échelle l'extrémité profonde.
De là, vous pouvez regarder vos enfants barboter dans leur propre, peu profonde 2. 5 x 5m 1. séparée (8 pieds x 5 pieds) piscine qui a une chute d'eau spécialement conçu pour les garder heureux, car ils jouent avec l'eau qui tombe en cascade une série de petites nervures de pierre.
Les deux piscines sont frais et pur, nettoyé toute la journée par notre système de filtration.

We had a wonderful vacation at Casa Bedrock.
We didn't lack anything and enjoyed the mostly very good weather, the quiet location, the clean pool and the very nice and well-equipped house that left nothing to be desired.
We visited beautiful destinations from the guidebook every day and then cooled down and relaxed at the pool.
The hosts were always very quick and friendly to answer any questions we had.
We can recommend the property without reservation if you want to spend a quiet and relaxing holiday.

The villa is very spacious and in a quiet location.
The views are lovely.
The villa is solidly built with thick walls which keep the space cool. This also means that there was a slight odour inside the kitchen cupboards.
The pool was well used by our family.
We used the guide book a few times to explore the surrounding area
A car is essential to explore the area.
The villa was generally clean, but the oven needed attention.
Overall we had a great stay and would recommend.

Very nice property in a small village. Great location for day trips to many sites. House was well maintained and well organized with everything you need.. property was stunning . Did not use the pool
As weather was cool but it looked very inviting and spacious. Definitely recommend for those who like peace and quiet and a true feel for interior Portugal.

This property is tucked away in a tiny village, is beautifully quiet, has every amenity you want with a lovely garden, BBQ and pool for outdoor living.
We were very happy here, and could have stayed longer without any problem!
The countryside around is very scenic, and a short trip into the mountains provides spectacular views.
An excellent venue!

Our wonderful 2019 holiday
We had a wonderful time the villa was beautiful we were given an amazing guide book which became our bible so useful . We had some very delicious meals in the local restaurants and went to many beautiful sights wish we could have stayed longer as so much more to see and do we will definitely have to come back

The amazing Casa Bedrock!!!
From the photos on the website , we were already very excited about our holiday!
When we arrived at the Villa, it was exactly like we hoped it would be, and the photos were a true representation, it was beautiful!
The pool is a massive plus point in the hot weather, and it's great for the kids. My son loved it and used it every day!
I would definitely recommend a stay at this villa to anyone considering it.

Great Villa - Peaceful - Wonderful View - Fun Excursions

The owner David has produced a guide with easy to reach excursions, local restaurants and just about everything else, real local knowledge
At time of writing prices for eating out at the local restaurant were really good value - eg 3 course meal for two with a litre of wine coming in at 16 euros - and this included bread and olives!

Dejligt feriehus med det skønneste have og Pool
Vi er Netop hjemvendt efter en fantastisk ferie i Casa Bedrock. Det var en af vores bedste ferier. Casa Bedrock ligger i skønne omgivelser, huset ligger højt så fra huset og haven har du et fantastisk udsigt ud over marker med bla. Oliventræer. Der er så fredeligt, fra haven og poolen kan du kun høre lyden af cikader, fugle og summende bier. Virkelig afslappende og smukt.
Huset har alt hvad du har brug for af moderne bekvemmeligheder.
Vores børn på 6, 8 og 10 nød ferien så meget at de slet ikke ville med hjem og de spørger om vi ikke skal afsted igen.
Vi har brugt HomeAway og Airbnb mange gange, men David har været den bedste og mest omsorgsfulde vært man kunne tænke sig. Vi har hele tiden følt os trygge og godt informerede. David og Corinne har lavet en bog med alle de informationer du har brug for, om både huset, hvad der er værd at se i området, gode restauranter osv. Samtidig har de også en facebook side, hvor de ligger billeder løbende som man kan følge med i og glæde sig endnu mere til sin rejse.
Portugal er et dejligt land at holde ferie i og området er endnu ikke så overrendt af turister. I forhold til Italien, Spanien og Frankrig er Portugal meget billigere at spise i. Restauranterne er rørende billige, vi kunne spise alle 5, mad, dessert, drikkevarer inklusiv kaffe og vin for omkring 500 kroner! Vores favorit restaurant var O terreiro do lager.
Vi vil helt klart anbefale Casa Bedrock og håber selv på at komme tilbage en dag.

'Casa Bedrock' a peaceful getaway
Exceptional, beautiful holiday home, the villa had it all, every creature comfort.. The gardens were just fantastic, filled with ancient Olive trees.. You would find yourself lost in its tranquility.. So much space and so well utilized.. The pool was absolutely fantastic, so clean and was a pleasure to sit and listen to the squeals of pure happiness from the children.. Dave and Corinne obviously have a great passion for their villa and it shows in the guidebook that we received a week before our arrival.. The communication between Dave was outstanding and it felt as if he was just as excited about our holiday as we were.. A hidden gem is what I would describe 'Casa Bedrock' I feel totally relaxed after our week at the villa.. The true heart of Portugal and I enjoyed every minute, Thank You again Dave and Corinne for one exceptional stay

Beautiful, spacious, exceptionally well equipped.
Our family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers have just returned home from a most relaxing 12 night stay at Casa Bedrock. We found it to be everything that the property description promised. Beautiful, spacious, exceptionally well equipped and supremely comfortable.
We were delighted to receive Dave and Corinne’s excellent guidebook in the week before we arrived. They are extremely passionate about Casa Bedrock and the general area and it shows in spades when you flick through the guidebook. More than any other holiday villa owners we have encountered over the years, they are dedicated to ensuring that guests have the best holiday possible. From the time of booking (pre-Christmas 2017 ), we received many communications from Dave and got the sense that he was as excited about our planned holiday as we were!
The villa is set in a very peaceful rural location but less than a 15 minute drive on quiet roads to the good sized town of Ansiao which has a well stocked supermarket and a good choice of restaurants. Restaurante Caracol, which serves excellent food at equally good value, is just a 5 minute drive from the villa and proved to be our favourite. The owner Luis has good English and was very welcoming and attentive.
We had a hire car for the full duration of our stay and expected to use it to visit some of the many attractions and places mentioned in the guide book. However, upon settling in, we got very lazy and spent most days relaxing by the fabulous pool or in the spacious garden. We did enjoy morning walks from the villa on quiet tracks & roads relying entirely on the many routes mapped out by Dave and Corinne in the guidebook.
We were unable to find a bike hire service locally but after some online enquiries from the villa, found a hire service named “by bike” who advertise on Facebook. They supplied 2 mountain bikes with helmets for our teenage boys with delivery and collection from the villa. The bikes were of good quality and we found them to be punctual and much better value than other online bike hire companies.
Our 12 night stay at Casa Bedrock passed all too quickly. We would love to return, knowing that Dave and Corinne would do their utmost to ensure that our return visit would better the one before. A sincere thanks to Dave and Corinne for the wonderful stay had by all at their beautiful villa.

Beautiful location and well equipped house. The area is perfect for walks and hiking and the lovely garden would be ideal to relax and enjoy (unfortunately we were very unlucky with the weather). Thanks very much Dave for being so helpful and providing your famous guidebook full of handy and interesting information!

Perfect Peaceful Location
We are just home from a 2 week stay at Casa Bedrock & already want to return!! The area is very peaceful, perfect for relaxing. Our children loved the pool and spent nearly all their time in it. The villa itself is so well equipped. Wifi was great & kept everyone happy as well as lots of English tv channels. Air con in the bedrooms was fantastic & the villa itself stayed so cool even after day's hitting 30 degrees. The kitchen is well equipped & was easy to cook meals & with the added bonus of a dishwasher, or if you want to eat out there are many lovely restaurants within 5/10 min drive. Shops/supermarkets/banks etc 5/10 min drive away. The guidebook the owner provides or as we called 'the bible' was just amazing. It documents walks, shops, restaurants, days out etc etc, we referred to it every day! If you're thinking of booking, DO IT, you won't be disappointed!!

Stunning views and a pool to die for!
A beautiful villa with views over the countryside which never grow old. Loved lying at the gorgeous pool area while butterflies and birds kept us company. The villa has absolutely everything you need and the extras like books/games/dvds as well as british tv channels were all appreciated. Good bedding and super air con made sleeping easy.
The property was spotless and communication with Dave was superb. Every email or call was answered almost instantly! Dave provides the most amazing guide book which we used every day. It is very obvious Dave cares about his guests and thinks of everything.
There is a well stocked Intermarche in Ansiao, a Chinese shop which sells everything and a handful of restaurants within a 5 to 10 min drive plus a few even closer.The prices of meals in this area are ridiculously cheap and of great quality.
Can thoroughly recommend the property and the area and wished we had been able to stay longer. Thanks for a lovely time.

Beautiful Holiday Home
We had a fantastic holiday. The villa has everything you need. I love cooking and the kitchen was very well equipped. The villa was spotless & very cool after a day in the beautiful sunshine.
Plenty of outside space & different areas to sit. The pool was absolutely fabulous a lot of thought has gone into making this a perfect holiday.
David's guide book is second to none..... we always get lost finding our way to previous villas but this time we found it straight away!!
Plenty of places to visit & things to do a very comprehensive read.
We loved the peace & tranquillity that surrounds the villa, we are looking forward to a trip back next year.

A hidden paradise
Fantastic location if you want to see the real Portugal lots to see and a very informative guide book written by the owner full of useful information of places to go and places to eat.
The villa is very spacious well equipped and lovely garden and pool to relax.
Everything was first class and the owners are very helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
We would definitely be back.

Beautifully kept villa, great location and gardens
Casa Bedrock is a wonderful villa in a stunning location. We had two weeks of great weather enjoying some of the recommended walks and places by Dave and Corrine. This is our third visit to the Silver Coast and hopefully not our last, the people are very friendly and helpful even though we cannot speak Portuguese .
The villa has everything you will need for your holiday, the information book supplied by Dave and Corrine is an excellent idea that we have never come across in all the years we have been renting. It is a very comfortable villa, clean and well equipped.
I would have no hesitation in booking again.

Fantastic Villa in the Portugese countryside
Casa Bedrock is a beautiful villa located in a quiet village near Pombal. The owners, David and Corinne, really have thought of everything to ensure that guests have a fantastic holiday experience.
Firstly, David has compiled an extremely detailed guidebook of the area with several itineraries for days out, restaurant suggestions and walks of varying lengths and provides this to guests free of charge prior to their arrival at Casa Bedrock. We relied on this guide (which in my opinion is as good as commercially available guidebooks) throughout the holiday to plan our activities which had the added benefit of allowing us to relax on an evening rather than scour the internet for things to do the next day.
The villa itself is extremely well equipped. Books, DVDs and boardgames are provided, as are binoculars for stargazing. (The sky is so clear due to low levels of light pollution, it's hard to describe how many stars are visible compared even to the Yorkshire Dales). If you like listening to music, an extremely good quality hi-fi system is also provided so take along some CDs for those relaxing evenings.
Pool inflatables, beach umbrellas and bucket and spades etc, along with cool boxes are also provided - everything you might need for a day out.
The grounds of the villa are fantastic with room for the kids to play in the lower garden and an absolutely amazing pool area. Our kids (aged 2 and 6) loved the pool which was a lovely 26 degrees during our stay. (Top tip: put the cover on the pool at night to avoid loss of heat).
We will definitely return to Casa Bedrock when the kids are a little older and try out some of the walks. This region has so much to offer and Casa Bedrock is the perfect base to explore it.

A wonderful family holiday!
Dave and Corrine (the owner's of the property), were a delight to book with. Information was clear and helpful. The complimentary guidebook was incredibly useful - even to us, having visited central Portugal for the past 7 years. The property itself was very comfortable and clean and contained everything we required for a young family of four. Our boys loved the outdoor space, especially the swimming pool which got a lot of use! We thought the location was very good (in a lovely little village) - lots of attractions close by (within the hour) to keep the children entertained.
The house comes highly recommended by us and we hope to visit again soon!!

Fantastic villa with a great pool
This was our first visit to Portugal and staying at the Casa Bedrock just made our visit extra special. The owners, David and Corinne are so lovely and kept us updated about our planned visit and provided us with a very detailed guidebook of the area which David had written himself. We have stayed in a few villas over the years and no owner has gone to such detail ensuring our visit was extra special. There was even milk and bread provisions for when we arrived!
The kids loved the pool area and we spent the first three days at the house and enjoying everything it had to offer. When the kids had had too much sun they played the board games provided and watched the entire Harry Potter series of DVDs also provided with many other films!
Without the guidebook we wouldn't have discovered the river beaches or the amazing San Simaou swimming 'pools' a mountainous relaxing river beach with fresh water swimming pools.
We met some lovely people here but more than anything as a family we loved being at the villa.
We will definitely be returning again but if you're reading this review wondering if this Villa is worth a booking... Book it ! You won't be disappointed in either the villa or its owners! Nick,Emma, Jessica and Xander

Beautiful property in a stunning environment.
It is difficult to think of anything negative to write as this is a very comfortable villa where clearly the emphasis has been put on ensuring guests maximise their holiday experience. The weather was hot, the villa was cool and the pool was very well used particularly by our daughters aged eight and eleven. It is off the beaten track in an area that just begs to be explored. A car is almost essential but there is next to nothing on the roads and its easy to get about. It sounds a cliche but the portuguese all semmed very friendly and despite having no portuguese we managed to communicate easily. It is worth saying that we had a small meltdown on the first night because we had promised the girls a room each and because the 'annexe' room is completely separate from the main house we didn't feel comfortable with one of them in there. I wouldhHighly recommend this property for those wishing to explore an almost forgotten part of Europe in luxury surroundings..

Off the beaten track!
We had a wonderful time at Casa Bedrock. The house has a light and airy feel, and everything in it tells you this is a house that is loved by its owners. Dinner in the rockery garden on balmy evenings, the gorgeous pool that our 8 ½ year old was barely out of, loads to do in the local area - as owner Dave's marvellous guide book describes... We went to several of the local river beaches (our favourite being the one below the beautiful restored schist village of San Simao), to the towns of Pombal and Tomar (the Couvent there, the seat of the knights templar is like something out of Tolkein!), on several local walks... the house was great and it was a great area to be situated in, far from the madding crowds.

OUTSTANDING!
We enjoyed a truly fabulous RELAXING week here - mum, dad & 2 kids (12 & 14). I cannot recommend enough what a lovely villa this is & that it is located in a stunning part of Portugal. Don't be put off by the distance from the sea - its a straight run to the coast if you do want to go but you do have your own pool at the villa (lovely size for swimming - couldn't keep my 12 year old out!) AND there are also magnificent river beaches scattered throughout the region if you need to cool off while out & about. There are loads of interesting places to visit, castles galore, stunning scenery & all interspersed with lots of lovely little towns. Its really easy to get around as the volume of traffic is a fraction of that in the UK (very refreshing).
As for the villa - its brilliant. The owners have given lots of thought to what you need once there & their attention to detail was in evidence. Its all aimed toward you enjoying you're hard earned holiday to the max - not least thanks to David's amazing local guide book. The villa is very modern & on the edge of a tiny village. The views from the lounge/balcony are fabulous. However, you're only a short drive from a bigger town with restaurants & supermarket.
We loved it anyway & had the week we wanted been available next year would have rebooked immediately.

Peace and Tranquility
Having chosen to take a holiday early in the season, there was some apprehension about what the weather would be like but we needn't have worried because apart from the first day when it was cloudy, we had wall to wall sunshine. We were joined for the first week by our son, daughter-in-law and 2 year old grandson and found plenty of activities for them in the area, particularly the wonderful new park, play area and exercise circuit in nearby Ansiao which we visited on trips to the excellent Intermarche supermarket. We enjoyed day trips out twice to the seaside and although the beaches were very quiet we found sufficient shelter from the wind and the sand was perfect for building sandcastles. We visited the two river beaches as described in the book. We especially liked the one in Mosteiro which was the more child-friendly.
It would be hard to find any fault with the villa as it has all the amenities which one could wish for, plenty of space and is very comfortable. Although we did not use the swimming pool, as it was too early in the season, we could imagine how lovely it would be to take a dip in the glorious surroundings. The views from the villa are stunning and it is very private and tranquil, yet encompasses the atmosphere of the village. In the cool evenings it was nice to light the wood burning stove. We would recommend the local take-away which is mentioned in the book and followed the advice to ring our order through in advance. We ate out at the local Caracol restaurant a number of times which was good quality and fantastic value for money.
We did lots of walks from the book and found the route descriptions very easy to follow (they must have taken much effort by the owners to put together).
We would recommend this holiday for couples or families who like to get off the beaten track and enjoy peace and quiet and relaxation in the "real Portugal". We hope to re-visit in the future to visit some more of the sites and do some more of the beautiful walks. Thank you David and Corinne for a most enjoyable holiday.
