Three Bears Retreat is located in a beautiful neighborhood with easy access to and from the main streets, so you do not need 4 wheel drive to access our home. It is extremely private and you will likely see a ton of wildlife during your stay(elk, deer, moose, falcon's, osprey's).
It is very easy to get around the area and find our home; with easy access to Grand Lake Village and Rocky Mountain National Park, Ski Granby Ranch, and other areas. In the winter time, it would be a good idea to have an all-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive in case of heavy snow.
This is very close to Shadow Mountain Lake, the lake adjoining Grand Lake. You can literally walk over the ridge and be at the lake within 5-7 minutes walking. However, you will want to stop and take in the glorious 360 degree views at the top.

A magnificent property in a great location. Perfect for our group. Janna was great with communication as well
10.0 / 10.0
Janna was accommodating and kind and, best of all, incredibly responsive, even though we had to make a last-minute change with our reservation numbers over the holidays. The property itself was magical—covered with snow yet accessible, quiet and secluded but not far from everything Grand Lake has to offer. For our purposes, as college friends who’ve moved all over the country but still come home to CO for the holidays, it was a wonderful retreat for both our core group and the kids we ended up bringing along. Thanks again for such a wonderful memory, and if we decide to come back to Grand Lake in the future, we’ll be sure to check the availability of this property again!

Excellent accomodation for our family gathering. Incredibly spacious, well furnished, very comfortable beds. Lots of games (table tennis, horseshoes, shuffleboard table, bag toss, frisbee, baseball and more) added to the fun. Great decks with fire pit and grill. Host very responsive and attentive. We would absolutely stay there again! Thanks, Janna!

Amazing 3 Bears House
This house was able to hold all 18 of us and gave us something to do the entire week we were there. The amenities were great...fluffy towels, comfortable beds/bedding, toys for little and big kids, and a fully stocked kitchen for all our cooking and baking needs! This house is amazing!

Wonderful house for a large group
Everything about the experience was excellent. Janna was excellent to communicate with, the house was exactly what was listed, and perfect for what we were looking for. We had 9 people for a company retreat here and this was the perfect place for it. Would definitely recommend.

A Magical Mountain Retreat!
What an absolutely charming, convenient, feature packed and awesome property! We had a small group of 3 families that stayed 3 nights at the Three Bears Family Retreat and couldn't be happier with our experience. Communication with Janna (our host) was flawless and fast. Her responses were immediate, and she was very accommodating, checking to make sure we had everything we needed to make our stay an enjoyable one. The check-in process couldn't have been easier. The directions were easy to follow and we found the property without any problems at all. The home is very large, big enough to accommodate far more than our group of 7, but at the same time it never felt "too big". The bear theme is present throughout the house. From the welcoming sign near the front door to the small details like the bear shaped cabinet pulls, nothing is overlooked.
There are so many positives, but let me highlight some of the ones that stood out for us:
- The bedrooms are very comfy and nicely decorated. A great feature is the naming of each room (we stayed in the Dandelion), which made it easy for each of the families know where to quickly drop our luggage and settle in.
- The kitchen is large, easy to work in, extremely well stocked with plenty of dishes, utensils, pots/pans, etc. The cooktop (a 36" 5-burner beauty) made cooking easy and effortless as well.
- The living room is nicely furnished and comfy. The large screen TV can be seen from the kitchen and both dining areas. Plenty of warmth from the fireplace and close to the kitchen area.
- There are 2 dining areas with plenty of space for a large group, and the back deck has a plethora of seating as well.
- A gas fire pit on the back deck is nice if you don't want to partake of the 2 wood fire pits out front. We chose the latter, making 'smores and enjoying a beautiful night under the millions of stars easily seen as there is almost no light pollution!
- In addition to more bedrooms/bath areas, the downstairs inside/outside area has plenty of games and things to do (chest full of board games, ping pong, shuffleboard, chess, TV, horseshoe pit).
- The front porch was our absolute favorite area to sit, chat, enjoy a beverage and enjoy the views. There are seating, tons of aspen and pine trees, a great view of the peak, and plenty of wildlife sighting opportunities.
Thank you Janna for a wonderful stay. We absolutely loved every minute of it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Perfect location and amazing house!
It was an easy scenic drive to the Three Bears Family Retreat. The house is nestled in the trees and very private. We loved house spacious the house was and all the well thought out amenities available. This is a perfect house for a couple families since there is plenty of room. We enjoyed watching the wildlife and the short hike to see the lakes. Grand Lake is a quick drive and fun to explore. The owners were very helpful and made check-in and out a breeze. We will definitely book this house again!

Wonderful!
We spent 5 nights at The Three Bears Family Retreat. We had 4 families with adult children, totaling 13 guests. The house was very comfortable and had plenty of space for all of us. After full days of hiking, horseback riding, paddle boarding, rafting and fishing, we enjoyed happy hour on the front deck and later played horse shoes and shuffle board. We BBQ'd on the deck and had s'mores at the gas fire pit. The beds were comfortable and the garage had plenty of space for all our gear for the week. JP is a lovely host and had prepared lots of helpful information for us to make the most out of our stay. We hope to be back again! Thank you JP!
