Location is oké and the girls who helpen us were kind.

Worst place we have ever been!!! My girlfriend and I booked a private bedroom at this hostel for €240 for 3 nights (which was one of the most expensive on our Panama trip). We are used to the hostel like hotels and don’t mind to get the travellers experience. However, when we arrived at La Choza hostel, our stomachs turned. The host showed us our room and we were surprised. The room looked more like a prison cell, it was that small. Besides that it was not clean at all in the room. The mattress was very dirty and also the sheets. We told the host at the frostdesk and she was kind enough to help us right away with clean sheets. Not only our room was a bit dirty the only 3 toilets in de whole hostel were as well. 3 toilets is definitely not enough for a crammed hostel like this one. The dirtyness can be applied for the 4 showers as well. In the 2 kitchens you can store your groceries in the fridges but we decided not to do that since there is a lot of old food and fruits covered in molt. We never leave our hotels/hostels early and are not very picky persons. But we had no choice to stay any longer than 1 of the 3 nights here. We would never recommend anyone stay at La Choza and are never ever returning here!!

De accomodaties was erg fijn. Een rustige plek waar je even lekker kon bijkomen. Het strand is om de hoek dus dat is erg fijn en ze boden surfboards aan die wij zeker hebben gebruikt. De 2 keukens waren ook erg fijn dus we konden elke avond gemakkelijk koken. Het personeel was erg behulpzaam en we konden altijd terecht voor vragen.

Super good location and nice stuff. The room are kept clean and there is an air conditioner. The WiFi works very well.

All was good, but maybe have more hammocks around.

It has a really relaxed and nice atmosphere. There is a common area in which everybody gathers during the day or at night to hang out together when you like. You can rent surfboards at the hostel and the owner also provides surf lessons. I really recommend taking the classes is you like to surf, because he is a very good teacher. Also, for the ones that are working while travelling, WiFi is good here.

I really enjoyed my stay and I think for the price you’re paying it’s the best option to stay in Playa Venao

We had a lot of fun staying in La Choza Hostel. The location is unbeatable. You only have to walk 2 minutes to get to the beach, the supermarket or a number of restaurants and bars. If you like to surf, you can rent your board for 10$ a day. The hostel has dorms and privates with shared bathrooms. You can shower with hot water. It has two outdoor kitchens with a lot of space. The garden is lovely and you can relax in one of the hammocks. The staff was super friendly and always there for you if you have questions. A big thank you!

Die Lage ist perfekt. Man Hat zwei große Küchenbereiche und genug Kühlschränke. Das Personal war nett und Hilfsbereit.

Ich hatte ein Einzelzimmer. Man könnte mit sehr wenig Aufwand die Zimmer etwas schöner und praktikabler gestalten. Ein paar mehr Haken an der Wand oder ein Regal wo man seine Sachen ablegen kann. Die Wände könnten einen neuen Anstrich vertragen. Mich hat das nicht sehr gestört, aber es gibt sicherlich Gäste die auf so etwas noch mehr wert legen.

Lo que más me gustó del hostal, es que conserva esa escencia de playa y selva caribeña brindando la comodidad para relajarte con gusto!

No puedo decir que no me gusto algo, sino que agregaria servicios dentro del hostal, como : alquilar una manta ( ya que dormir con aire en habitaciones compartidas es mas dificil bajarle la intendidad para no molestar a otros!) pero en general Todo excelente! La ubicacion, limpieza, precio y servicios!

Really nice location, the beach is just across the street. The staff is very friendly as well and you can rent surfboards for an okay price. Thanks to the A/C we slept very well in the heat. The beach is super pretty and great for beginning and experienced surfers. It is really beautiful and there are not that many people so a lot of space. Also with a car you can go on a trip to Cambutal and that’s really great! The beaches are completely empty and undiscovered. It’s quite a bumpy adventurous ride to get there but definitely worth it.

It is not clean at all. The cleaning lady really tries her best, but she’s only there in the morning. We tried to use the kitchen after she came because people won’t clean after themselves and the kitchens were really messy and dirty. Also the toilets were dirty most of the time. There are 3 toilets for all the guests and 1 was locked most of the time. The showers on the outside we didn’t use because they were so dirty and there were so many bugs and even scorpios in there. There was 1 working shower in the inside but it was ice cold or boiling hot, no in between. On the floor before the shower and toilets was mostly a very dirty towel that turned brown quickly and was left there for a few days. It would have been nice if there were more (not broken) chairs around the kitchen area and more lounge/chill spots in the garden, because the location is just great. There was also a lot of trash in the garden, just really small things that kept building up and made us disappointed in our stay, while it has so much potential. Life is Playa Venao is really expensive also, the supermarket prices are crazy high.

Clean kitchen and bathroom. I liked the balcony and the AC in the room. Good vibes and music. The other hostel/hotel around look much fancier but for the price I think la Choza is a good option

The rooms could be cleaner and in a better shape and it smelled humid. But it wasn't that bad. After reading all this terrible comments I thought it would be much worse.

The hostel was pretty close to the beach and restaurants.

The manager was totally RUDE and UNWELCOMING. Why is he working in customer service if he hates to interact an be polite to people?? Just give that work to someone else!! I couldn't sleep well because of some NOISY trucks unloading construction materials at 7 AM IN THE MORNING!!
