Great hotel with a really good restaurant, a nice spa and very good service

Found the cutlery dirty and we both got tummy bugs when we got home . Coffee tasted funny .

Room large. Breakfast tasty. Staff very friendly and professional.

Stayed for 1 night. First time we had been to Oxford. We got a taxi into the city but a bus is easy enough too. The hotel was charming and staff friendly. The pool and spa were very nice. Our room was very big and had a patio overlooking the green. Wonderful stay

Fab location close to Oxford, but feel like your in the countryside. Very close to Thames River. Lovely hotel, makes you feel very relaxed and nice walk to local pub on the river with nice walks along the Thames. Very peaceful.

The hotel was fantastic, the room clean with a very comfortable bed, all facilities in bedroom hair dryer, tea making and toiletries, all the staff very friendly and polite especially Kayley at check in and out and a special shout out to Nat who was friendly, informative and nothing was to much bother Only slight downside had a bar meal on the Friday night starters came out at different times mine was eaten before my wife’s came out and the pizza was burnt on the bottom

Hotel is very tidy and the service good. The food in the restaurant is top notch so we can highly recommend it. The breakfast is a well stocked self service and held in the restaurant area which is pleasant although lacks a bit of character. We would suggest that the staff should ask whether this is your first day when going into breakfast otherwise you sit at the table you’re shown to and wonder whether you should wait to be served or help yourself. We went for a walk around the grounds which is ringed by rivers. I personally felt the grounds could be landscaped to provide a more enjoyable experience as it’s basically a large lawn to walk in and some works barriers which don’t exactly lend visual appeal. The room was very nice with good sound proofing and facilities. No complaints there at all. We would be more than happy to stay here again. A word of warning. On the site we used to book it read ‘Parking available’. What that means is you have to pay for it. I would advise that this is made more clear as people want to know this prior and feel it’s a little sneaky not doing so. It’s a stealth payment.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. Room was very spacious and well decorated, breakfast was delicious and the staff were ever so attentive! And the hotel offered us some delicious honeycomb made from their own honey!

Nice property away from the main road and close to the river Thames. Welcoming reception, decent sized rooms, some with terraces and balconies. Pleasant Spa and pool. Good food, beautifully presented. Comprehensive breakfast.

Really comfy bed, great breakfast. Probably the only thing I could say is it was very cold in the main Reception/Hall area. Such a lovely seating area but too cold to stay sat there for more than one drink.

They charge now for parking £7 EVERY NIGHT - how ridiculous is that. It is a field in a village. Won’t be staying again - what a cheap way to rip off customers.

Good hotel, clean good sized rooms, lovely staff, shame about the breakfast. Lousy machine coffee, hard fried eggs and cardboard bacon.

A really very disappointing experience for our stay at Oxford VOCO Thames , we made our reservation through hotel.com, the room type that we booked is "Premium Room, 1 King Bed, River View". When we checked in, we were told that there are no room with river view were available. The hotel should have better management to ensure the room type that we paid for is available when we arrive ! This was a really bad experience.

What a great stay - Every single member of staff we met was friendly, polite & helpful. The hotel is a fantastic building, in a lovely quiet setting next to the river but with very easy access to the city and surrounding attractions. Breakfast service was well organised with a good choice of hot & cold food.

Overall we had a nice stay. We had 2 nights. Saturday & Sunday. Our 3 course meal in the Napier restaurant was excellent!! Our first night was in a garden room. The room was nice. Bed and bedding all very clean & comfy. However these rooms have extremely thin walls. We were kept awake all night because the neighbours both sides were noisy. One side was even talking loudly on his phone at 4am. We did complain to management and they dealt with it swiftly. But our nights sleep had been ruined and my husband had to be up and out at 8am for an appointment. We were seriously considering cancelling our 2nd nights stay and going home early. However the excellent staff rallied around. A customer service manager called Claire approached us at breakfast and apologised profusely for the rough night. She arranged for us to move to a room which was larger and had proper walls! It was in the Church wing. A really lovely room, and yes it was quiet. So we stayed for our second night and had a better sleep. The breakfast on both mornings was excellent. The staff were excellent. Especially Claire! The bar food was also really good if a bit pricey. So I would recommend this hotel but if you value your sleep then don’t choose a garden room. Also a special thank you to Akisha in the restaurant who helped me with a query when I rang after our stay. She was extremely helpful.

This is a great hotel, we have stayed more than once and we love it. From the comfort and cleanness of the room to the staff's politeness. Highly recommended.

The hotel and staff was very nice. Wish they had a jacuzzi too. The carpets in the room we stayed in the garden section could with a wash. Otherwise it was all so clean and lovely. Loved it that a bus goes into Oxford and back from just outside the hotel gate. Thank you for looking after us.

tHIS IS A LOVELY HOTEL BUT YOU NEED A CAR TO GET THERE, THEN CCAN USE TAXIS INTO oXFORD wE LIKE THE GROUNDS AND THE POOL, AND THE ROOMS ARE WELL SET OUT AND WE SLEPT WELL DESPITE A cHRISTMAS PARTY IN THE HOTEL THAT NIGHT

Room run down. Main light didn't work, TV kept turning off, shower head wouldn't stay up and extractor fan didn't work. We ordered room service from the phone in the room and were hung up on. We told the receptionist the above who just replied "thank you for letting us know" no apilogies. The reception building and the bar was beautiful. Was disappointed no jacuzzi in the "spa" google pictures and reviews show one. The hotel has a lot of potential but more attention to detail is definitely required.

Lovely hotel in great position near the river. Friendly staff, good food, comfortable room.

It is a beautiful hotel in a gorgeous setting. Generally the staff was very helpful except some British friends of ours were trying to get in touch with us and left three messages with the reception staff. None of them were delivered to us, even though we specifically asked if we'd received any messages.

The stay was absolutely wonderful everything was perfect we can’t fault Oxford Thames Hotel the cleanness was 10/10 all l can say is me and my husband will stay there again whenever we visit Oxford! Thank you for your hospitality! Mrs Zahra Reilly

We like the garden room at the Voco which is in a separate secure area, and insulated from functions taking place, such as weddings! The new parking scheme is a bit awkward (£8/day), says have to register in 10 minutes which isn't possible with a desk queue. Our key cards stopped working after 1 day. Overall, we will return.

Couldn't fault the staff,the food, the room with a very comfy bed. Only downside was we stopped on a Saturday night when a wedding reception was on. Quite a bit of noise and people outside in the early hours.

The hotel is picturesque and the staff a relaxed and totally lovely. Would definitely stay here again. The food is pretty good too!
