This hotel had been closed for several years and it is at proximity with my business place in Dar es Salam i was therefore eager to be able to finally go there ... but i was so happy that this was just for one night as I could not stand an additional day ...honestly very poor value for money ... i can t understand how u can close for two years and not revamp the hotel fully ...this is like cleaning a old hotel with no new tech or anything , noisy AC , very humid

They welcome you during check in with a bottle of cold water. Breakfast is excellent and includes fresh coconut juice as well as other standard items. Very nice veranda for informal meetings near the pool. Pick up and drop from airport was very efficient.The park next door is an amazing place - must be enjoyed. Altogether a relaxing and efficient stay

Serious issue with ventilation as the main lobby and restaurant area smell like fish. Corridors and rooms smell fungus, and I had to keep the room window open all the time.

I travel all the time, and the Southern Sun is by far my favorite hotel. The staff treat you like family. The food is great. The rooms are very nice, clean, and comfortable. I highly recommend the hotel.

I had an Indian dinner that was exquisite and grilled fish dinner special that was cooked to perfection.
I also appreciated that they let me extend my check out time since my flight wasn’t until later. They were so friendly about it all. The pool area is pleasant and the garden next door offers a nice walk.

Good large hotel in the downtown area, excellent breakfast in the morning. Close to the botanical gardens, which is nice. Clean, a bit old fashioned .

I had a lovely stay at the Southern Sun. The service is terrific, very friendly, great cleaning. The breakfast is SO delicious. And, they are close to shops, and also the board walk along Barack Obama Rd for sunset runs.

I had all the services expoected from a 4 stars class hotel, and more. size of the room, Service, cleanliness, equipment, choice of meals for breeakfast and a good restaurant. One thing though, restaurant personnel wants to clean your my too fast and serve you more drinks. Kind of pressure sales I dont like.

When I checked in, I was invited to a house party which I was told that it has
been going on every Wednesday. That was
really a nice taken very seriously by the hotel staff. Thanks the hotel manegement
for keeping up this hotel cheerful.

Will never stay there again. Issues with unwanted guests coming to rooms and alarm going off early for no reason and for the price not worth it. You can stay elsewhere for better price and get more value. Rooms were not clean and not kept up. I will never stay there again. Please note that if you want a review please not require so much detail.

I was pleased with the professionalism of the staff. They went out of their way to be helpful. The restaurant staff was most excellent. the food superb. Every morning I was served my usual brown toast promptly and all efforts were made to make me feel at home. The decor of the lobby and the interesting displays of art work give an overall aspect of respect for the local culture. I logged on to the internet wirelessly with easy and a good speed.
The location of the hotel is wonderful, set amid the greenery but so close to downtown and all other areas. It was quiet and peaceful and you never felt the hustle bustle of the metropolis.
