This hotel was absolutely wonderful. The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. We had the most delicious dinner in the restaurant (highly recommend the mushroom risotto) and our included breakfast the next morning. The rooms were beautifully decorated (moment of appreciation for that towel warmer in the bathroom). This place seriously just felt like a cozy warm hug after a day out in the cold wind of the glacier. Our favorite stay and favorite meal of our 10 days in iceland.

We booked three rooms for two nights Aug 29 & 30 in the deluxe double room. Excellent hotel and a very warm and cozy bar/sitting area with fireplace. Emilio the bartender is wonderful and explains the making of the drinks (ask for a Negroni, his specialty!). Beautiful restaurant. We recommend eating at Restaurant Kjarr located down the street with a waterfall view. Excellent breakfast at the hotel.

We had a very pleasant welcome from Waldemar the evening we arrived.
He was informative and gracious. In the morning, we had the best service from the young lady at the front desk when we departed. I neglected to get her name. We had overslept and missed breakfast and when I asked about the place across the street, she promptly brought us into the dining room and provided us to go cups to make coffee and THEN made us a lovely to go bag of sandwiches, fruit, granola and drinks. She went above and beyond!

We absolutely loved this hotel!! Every staff member was so friendly. We ate at the hotel for dinner and breakfast and the food was absolutely fantastic! The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. I would definitely stay here again!

My family and I had a great stay at Hotel Klauster. It's in a beautiful part of the country, and a good home base for traveling to major attractions. The rooms were clean and nice, the bed was very comfortable, and the staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was a good choice with plenty of food options. For light sleepers, I would recommend ear plugs, as the closing and opening of other guests' room doors was audible from my room, but this did not prevent us from thoroughly enjoying our stay.

The room was great for a 2 night stay while exploring the South Coast area. The front desk receptionist was very helpful in giving us advice on one of the days as there were wind advisories and she helped us decide where to go to avoid any issues. We had drinks at the bar one night and we had a nice conversation with the manager Svienn who helped us book a trip to see some Icelandic Horses. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to this area.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay for our wedding anniversary. For a property in a very remote small town, this hotel was very modern and nice. The restaurant was delicious for both breakfast and dinner. On our first night, it was a bit warm due to the hotel not having AC, but after leaving the windows open for the day we had a much more pleasant sleep the next night. The front desk staff was very friendly as well.

I was able to check in with a warm welcome.I was tired after a long trip, but the smiling faces of the hotel staff made me feel better.We could see part of the waterfall from our room, and the mountain scenery was soothing .The shampoo and conditioner were also L'Oxitan products, and they smelled good. We also had a delicious breakfast with a view of the mountains.They kindly provided us with weather information when we checked out. This is a hotel I would like to stay at again.

Beautiful property, looks very well kept. The hotel is very clean. The room was small but nice. My 6"5' husband lived the shower. Breakfast buffet was really good. We would stay here again.

Wonderful hotel in a great location between Vik and our planned glacier hike. The specialty cocktail and dinner was amazing. There is a nice little after dinner hike where you can see the largest tree in Iceland. Would stay again for sure.

We had a wonderful stay for my friends birthday. The staff wished her a happy birthday, left a note and complementry drinks which was a wonderful touch. Everyone was so attentive and friendly, room was spotless and fantastic view- would recommend to anyone the location is fabulous for anyone doing route 1. Overall fantastic stay and hotel
