Very enjoyable stay.

The rooms are clean and comfortable but the staff in the Wateredge Inn, directly opposite where you check in and have breakfast are awful. The first morning was such a bad experience we did not bother going over for the second morning.

Good stuff: The housekeeping staff were amazingly helpful and knowledgeable. Rooms was great. Not so good stuff: Menu was a bit disappointing but only because there are 4 other Inn Group Hotels in Ambleside which all had basically the same menu. The breakfast staff were a little abrupt.

We feel you should warn people staying in room 31 that it is right on the main road and feels like a goldfish bowl when you turn on the lights and that you can’t see the TV from the bed. That said, the room was spacious, clean, comfortable, warm and all we did was sleep in it . . For the price we paid, including breakfast, it was satisfactory for an overnight stay.

We had a very pleasant two night stay at The Wateredge Inn, which has a truly wonderful lakeside location with great views across the lake to the distant fells. While the hotel has some of the most garrulous staff we have ever encountered anywhere in the world, and the restaurant / bar menu was pretty typical "chain" quality (and pricing), we thought that the hotel was very clean and extremely well maintained with good parking (in The Windermere Rooms). However two things potential travelers should perhaps be aware of: a) the hotel is NOT in Ambleside (it's about a mile away) and Ambleside itself is pretty short of parking - so you have to expect a walk into the center of town; b) the rooms are exceedingly small (and ours was a "superior" room). Really a miracle in ingenuity (getting the smallest bathroom sink in the world (?), and all the other amenities into the bathroom) with barely space to walk around the sides of the bed. But... everything worked, the room was cozy enough and really very neat and tidy and nicely presented and furnished - thank you! Would we go back? Maybe. It's convenient to find (and park) and the location is excellent.... but maybe there are other places to explore in The Lakes?

Loveky Hotel

Property was clean, refurbished. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Good food

A cosy, comfy modern hotel with a vintage feel and heritage. Plentiful parking and easily located. The room we had had recently been done up (you could smell the new carpet smell in the main corridor). It was beautifully decorated and very relaxing. The room was spacious and you couldn’t hear any road noise. Breakfast was available across the road in the main restaurant, it was hot and had plenty of choices. Definitely had a nice luxurious feel to the hotel room.

Would of given 5 Star review,but ehen in waterside lounge area on Thursday i asked a member of staff if i could close the door as it was very cold and we were having a meal,i was told no as they were feeling warm........

Excellent and dog friendly. Lovely bar and food.

We found the room very satisfactory and enjoyed our stay. The only (minor) disappointment was the quality of the food in the evenings which seemed to be 'frozen heated up' which was tolerable bur slightly disappointing. Breakfasts by contrast were very satisfactory.

Absolutely beautiful place, very clean and perfect location. Perfect night away. Only slight downer was that I could hear someone in the room next door snoring all night but that’s not the hotels fault. I searched for hours for somewhere to take our dog and he was made very welcome and happy here.

Really enjoyed the stay. Good geographical location. Rooms clean and tidy with all facilities. Breakfast excellent. Staff very pleasant. Will stay again.

Perfect Location & as we were looking for.. Stayed in a lovely room behind the main buildings, small block of four rooms and extremely comfortable.. Staff worked hard during an extremely busy weekend but nothing was too much trouble.. Would definitely stay there again…👍

Unfortunately one of the two double rooms I booked only provided one bath towel for 2 people. Apart from that, it was a great stay

The rooms were modern, super clean and very luxurious and comfortable could not fault anything.

So handy for getting off a late flight. Maybe over doing the in room tech a little, but room comfy, staff helpful

Parking onsite which is good as it’s expensive in Ambleside. Clean and well equipped rooms but small so not really suitable for a long stay. Staff are great, very helpful. Good breakfast choice. Gets very busy for food in the evening but plenty of nearby options.

Rooms all very nice The problem we had was with security anyone could enter and did ,if there was a fire you would have no idea how many people were staying.

Great location, close to all the major attractions. However the noise from the rain on the roof was very loud, making it difficult to sleep. Breakfast was average.

Stayed one night. Room and bathroom was extremely small, but luckily the room had a nice AC. Even though the road was directly outside our window, we were not disturbed by the vehicles passing. Staff was very nice. There was much confusion when we arrived, but we soon figured out that the "rooms" part of the place doesn't have a reception. You go into the restaurant on the other side of the road to check in. Warm breakfast is at a buffet. We had a drink outside by the water, very nice. We did not have dinner here, we walked into Ambleside for some amazing tapas.

It was at the head of the Lake, making the scenery beautiful. The large lawn where we could dine whilst looking over the lake. This was so peaceful! Can't think of anything we disliked.

Enjoyed my stay and found the room both clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. The one thing I would improve would be to move the check in area from being at the bar. ( on a gorgeous Saturday the bar was very busy which made this more difficult than needed). Did not detract from a great stay.

Lovely smoorh check in . Lovely friendly staff. Room on 2nd floor. A few too many stairs for me. Room was a tad cold but had a good heaters. Room a tad small. Bathroom lovely but a bit narrow.. Food lovely . Nice and tasty but areas far too hot. Didnt sleep well aa bed quite hard and noise from traffic and creaky floor boards keot waking us up . Breakfast was lovely but asked for scrambled egg and got poached. All in all a nice stay

The accomodation was excellent,very well appointed and staff when present were helpful. Visit marred only by the lack of direction at breakfast. Items were not replenished and with nobody immediately available requests for further supplies had to be made via the reception desk. Such a pity to spoil an excellent venue by the lack of attention at breakfast.

Hotel is in a amazing location our room overlooked the lake, the hotel was clean and friendly and nothing was to much trouble will definitely be staying there again
