Nice place to stay!

Have stayed in capital hotel so many times and it was a pretty good hotel overall. But this visit makes me so upset. The stay was fine. When we were checking out, the housekeeper says there were a couple of make up stains on one of the towels. She tried to wash it with the shower gel that was left over and said it could not be washed off. We were told to pay 50 ringgit for the damage!! Or we can go to the laundromat nearby to have the towel cleaned at our own expense. When has it been the guest’s responsibility to wash the linen of the room?! Nevertheless I went to the supermarket, bought a bottle of normal laundry detergent and went up to the room to wash the towel. The so called unwashable make up stains were totally cleaned within 3 minutes of hand washing with a normal detergent. Hotel management, please look into this practice of asking your guests to wash the linen of the room. That’s YOUR responsibility!!!

Great location to walk to the marina to go to the islands or a 10 minute walk to the boardwalk to get food and drinks.

Room 810 can't drain, almost flood in the bathroom...

It was close to Jesselton point where we went for diving and very close to the mall. It was just very easy to get around. The staff were nice and helped us with so many things. The room was excellent for this price. If I am going to Sabah again, I will definitely stay here.

Honestly I couldn’t think of a place I’d rather stay in Kota Kinabalu. This was our second time there, this time in the King size bed room. Very clean, great air-con, nice showers, perfect location. Inexpensive. Highly recommended.

Amazing hotel in the centre of town and near shopping malls and eateries. Service was good and very value for money. Only issues was that after 4 nights of staying, the sheets are not changed so maybe that could be improved.

Good price for a convenient location. The staff are helpful and hospitality. Although the decoration is a bit old, the room is tidy and specious. Wi-Fi signal is not strong enough. It may be due to the location of our room is at the end on the floor. Next time, I will stay again.

Old facility, noisy air conditioner, noisy traffic in front of room window over night, tidiness is poor

a very convenient location ,the famous stalls ,one of the big shopping complex and night market just in a walking distance. The hotel stuffs are very friendly too .

Cozy hotel located in between everything you ever need. Shopping Malls, night markets, morning markets, restaurants, bars and cafes. Walking distance to Jesselton pier as well to catch a boat ride to Gaya island for half day recursions. Highly recommended.

Convenient to all shopping and places to eat. Only 15 mins from airport. Near to Sunday market too.

Everything good but no parking lot provided. The shopping malls all nearby. A lot of eateries nearby especially Chinese food.

I took my chances and have tried a few others but end up regretting why hadn’t I just stick to Capital in the first place! It is truly a value for money hotel or the location and quality. I can’t pick on anything to say bad about it for the price it charges. You will be amazed by the furnishings and cleanliness when u step into the hotel. It is a non smoking hotel and they take smoking issue very seriously , guest will have to pay 200 for cleaning if the room was found to have after smoking tabacco smell, am a smoker myself but still, I fully support this rule as the rooms are so much more comfortable to stay in Without any smoking smell from previous guest. Will definitely choose this hotel again for many years to come.

Easy Check in. Nice location

Simple, clean hotel in a close location to jesselton point and handicraft market. We were not given instruction for Wi-Fi, which left us confused for a little while. Also the list of damage charges for items in the room is just uncomfortable.
