Excellent location. Friendly staff. Accommodations were ok. Restaurant was excellent. We stayed in the 1st floor of the guest house and it felt a little like sleep-away camp when we arrived. There was a plug-in air freshener that made the apartment smell cheap. It was very hot in the evenings and somewhat uncomfortable to sleep as the unit did not have air conditioning. We also were unaware of the minimum age requirement for the fitness center and spa. As a result, our 13 year old son, was asked to leave the fitness center and was not granted full use of the facility.

It was an all around great leg of the trip. Grindelwald is a great town that isn’t too crowded and pretty central or easy to travel to all that you want to see and do in the area. The hotel was also central to all of Grindelwald and was an easy5 minute walk from the train station. I would recommend all!

I’d recommend this property to anyone looking for a true small town feel in the middle of the Swiss Alps. The property was amazing and convenient to all attractions, dining and transportation.

At Check in they did not have the room available that we had booked - Room with Bunk Beds for our two Children aged 10 & 12. The only room they had available had a small double bed that was not suitable.
We had booked through Hotels.com which had confirmed it would be a room with Bunk Beds but the Eiger Hotel refused to Honour this - although admitting they had set the room description up wrong on Hotels.com.
The decor of the room was very 1970's and 80's as they are planning to convert the apartments into new suites shortly. This was fine, however the lack of investment lead to us having chairs with Broken legs (which came off). They did replace when asked buy it shows a lack of care and attention to customers.

Absolutely perfect stay. The warmest welcome from the reception and super friendly service the whole time. Loved the spa facilities. Perfect to end a day in the snow. Location was excellent.

Good location. Our apartment have 2 bedrooms but it is not good for two families because it has one toilet only. Sofa inside kitchen is quite dirty.
Front desk staff are good. Hotel provide free coffee at the noon time.

It is not far from the train station, and they offer pick up service which take you from the Grindelwald station to the hotel. There are lots of facilities in the hotel, and the location is perfect!

great location to train station. Can see snow mountains in the room. Easy to commute to Jungfrau. Oven is available in the kitchen. Very convenient for cooking. Coop is near by.

Great location in Grindelwald, and just 5 minutes walk from the train station. We stayed in an apartment that provided daily cleaning, and an amazing view of the eiger! The 2 supermarkets were conveniently located minutes away from the hotel. Great gym too!

DO NOT TRUST THE POSITIVE REVIEWS! The hotel has two different parts, one part is very expensive and nice but the other part (I.e. the one you are looking at now) is very dated and dirty. The review for Both parts seems to be mixed and thats why there are so many positive reviews. Bedbugs and dirt are given. We felt so itchy the whole night and when we woke up at the morning, wow! guess what! two giant spiders were having a party inside our room. One of the spiders was actually quite aggressive as it tried to attack me. Trust me your grindelward trip will be completely ruined by this. It is not worth ruining the precious trip by going to this hotel. The risk was too high! if you actually checked other reviews you will actually realise that many have been misled by the positive reviews of the better area. So DO NOY STAY IN THIS HOTEL! I have stayed in Switzerland for almost two weeks and this is the worst hotel I stayed throughout the entire trip. 1/10. the only good thing is the spa.

Great location, on site parking, fantastic views. Only issue is rooms need updating. The hotel has a lot to offer with spa, restaurant, bar, cigar lounge etc.

We stayed in the apartment without room service. Room was old and kind of dim. Toilet a bit smelly from the first day of stay. Shower facility was not good and there was some degree of clogging of the bathtub drain. Up side: friendly front desk staffs

The room was big enough to accomodate my family of 3. The balcony with awning was great. We sit there and see sunset over mountains. My daughter loved bunk bed. 3 closets gave us sufficient space to store stuff for 3 nights and 4 days. Location of hotel was not bad (8 minutes from Grindelwald station, 5 minuts from Coop and First Cable car station). A lot of restaurants and shops are nearby.

The hotel far, far exceeded our expectations. The staff was great, good location, awesome bars and restaurants with nice Swiss woodworking. Great workout area and spa. I would come back.

The apartment location is near to the train station and big supermarket. shuttle is a plus since we traveled with big group of family members. Restaurant serving good foods too.

Stayed in an apartment for a week in early September. Nice hotel. I wish a microwave would be provided.

We had a lovely stay - returning after 15 years to the same hotel this time with our two children. The beauty of the hotel, its location and surroundings remain unspoilt. We stayed in a 2-bedroom chalet and were surprised as to how dated the furnishings - sofas and beds were. The living room also had very poor lighting which was rectified with some additional floor lamps when requested. Improvements with this would have made this an even more enjoyable trip.Would love to go back again!
