Really peaceful feeling. Out of the hussle and busssle of the city. Unique style. Rooms have huge ceilings. Great breakfast. A real getaway.

Villa Samadhi is a very special and unique boutique hotel. Most evenings of my week-long stay, I relaxed on the veranda listening to the intriguing sounds of the surrounding nature park. The hotel staff is exceptional, always looking for an opportunity to make my stay more enjoyable -- for example, bringing me a pot of tea on the veranda without even waiting for me to ask. Each morning, I enjoyed a short 2 minute walk to the nearby restaurant serving a lovely breakfast.
Starting at the doorstep of the hotel there are very interesting nature trails that include historical features. Villa Samadhi is villa, not a cookie-cutter hotel and so one should come prepared for some differences such as having a physical key rather than a plastic card key. These differences are part of the charm of Villa Samadhi. I have travelled for 15 years to Singapore on business, usually staying in a Holiday Inn or similar hotel which "does the job" but is mostly forgettable. However, Villa Samadhi will surely remain a most pleasant and memorable experience.

Chose Villa Samadhi for a staycation option and it was worth the 4 days we spent there. Went with my wife and two daughters along with my mother. We got two rooms adjacent to each other with a 3-bed option for the larger room. The Villa is very well kept and the rooms are spacious and very comfortable. It is not a resort but its calm and salubrious surroundings were much-needed getaway from the City life. Breakfast was included that was served at the Tamarind which is part of the property, a colonial bungalow converted into a restaurant serving excellent Thai cuisine. We drove into town like tourist enjoying Singapore venturing to malls, restaurants, tourist spots and the Sentosa beach. A much-enjoyed getaway. Mamma Helen was our hostess at the Tamarind and her presence livened up the place. A must visit. Excellent property to explore.

Surrounded by nature, and classical building. Cozy place

Surprising isolated colonial hotel in the middle of a wooded hill, near the very center of Singapore. They call themselves a "rustic luxury"hotel and this is a very good definition. The feeling to be in the Singapore of the 1900 years, very nicely furnished, simple but elegant. Another surprise is the location of the breakfast place, quite a distance of the hotel in another colonial villa, with very delicate food. A quiet, beautiful, simple, elegant place where I had the feeling I was alone. I will definitely return there, so different from the 5 stars hotels in Singapore and not much more expensive than an Ibis.

My partner and I stayed at this hotel over a weekend to celebrate his birthday. We stayed at the Sarang suite which was lovely and came with an indoor spa pool within our room. Room was clean and we liked the setting, staying in a colonial building. Bed was nice and firm. Toilet was very spacious. The only negative about the room was the little blue spot light from the air conditioner that was very bright when the lights were switched off.
Staff were attentive and had prepared birthday balloons and a slice of cake for my partner (please inform them in advance). We were also treated to complimentary tea, cocktails, traditional kueh, fruits upon arrival.
Breakfast was served at the verendah of the pretty Tamanrind hill restaurant overlooking the greenery as ate.
Overall, great experience staying in this beautiful establishment away from the city!

A wonderful oasis of calm to come back to each day after the craziness of the F1 Grand Prix. It lived up to its pictures on your site and even though it felt very isolated we were still within five minutes walk of an excellent transport system

The location is slightly inconvenient for visitors without a car, but that’s what makes the Villa perfect for a getaway from the city. The close proximity to Labrador Nature Reserve and Keppel Bay is also perfect for an evening walk before dinner. Only downsides were the not-so-clean sheets when we checked in (which the staff quickly rectified and apologised for), and not getting a chance to have a meal at Tamarind Hill (closed for lunch and dinner). It was perfect otherwise!

Extremely welcoming and helpful staff. It is a wonderful place to stay and the most amazing place to wake up to in the morning. Breakfast is served in a beautiful tangent building which is a lovely 1-2min walk away. Im coming here every time to Singapore from now on!

I loved the colonial style, the quiet area and beautiful library and breakfast area at Tamaring restaurant. However not having any facilities like even small gym or pool is a bit of a downside. Even a small pool to relax around would be amazing

Samadhi Villas was the perfect stay for us as it was a nestled amongst lush greenery where the tranquility provided a great respite away from the bustle of the city.
The rustic colonial decor was classy and the luxury crib we booked was comfortable and well-appointed. The service provided by the staff was top-notch and we always felt pampered and well-taken care of.
We had dinner at the Tamarind Hill where we relished the best Thai cuisine and returned the next morning for our breakfast surrounded by nature in the outdoor seating area.
It was with great reluctance that we had to leave at the end of our stay but we left rejuvenated and fully satisfied with the entire experience.
I would also like to take this opportunity to express my deepest appreciation to Wee for her invaluable help with facilitating my marriage proposal. A big shout out to Joanna too for being our kind photographer and capturing those lovely memories. Thank you Samadhi villas for making it such a special and memorable day for us. We will definitely be back again!

Out 2 nite stay was just lovely. The place has an old charm and the quietness is just what we need. Dinner at Tamarind hill was delicious. The breakfast was a simple fare but delicious. Will definitely come back again for our couple retreat.

Don't bother staying here - this is a place for people who like old, decrepit colonial era haunted mansions. The worst thing about this hotel is that it's located in the middle of a nature reserve, with nothing close by and far from anything else, adding to its haunted house vibe.
Service is awfully bad - from the reception to the restaurant staff. As an example of the incompetence, I had to wait 10 minutes before someone showed up to check me out and even then, the reception staff was unable to explain how they would refund me my credit card deposit.
The breakfast is a good walk uphill, in a hot, humid outdoor venue with no A/C and lots of flies. The ala carte breakfast was poorly made and served up with a waiter with a terrible attitude.
The basic problem with this place is just the lack of guests, which means the hotel cannot really afford to hire that many staff and what little staff they can afford , all seem to be poorly trained and making the minimum wage.
Avoid this place unless you like creepy places with bad service!

This is a truely beautiful experience. Greeted by the Manager given a refreshing drink to cool the heat then taken to our magnificent room complete with antique furnishings and a huge wooden bath! We were then brought scones and tea with lemongrass wafting from the oil burner. Free coctails at 6pm in the library and then a delious Thai meal in their restaurant in the rainforest gardens. On coming back to our room there was port and two glasses for a nightcap! Next morning a free breakfast with fresh juice, fruit, eggs, pancakes etc with sometimes sightings of the resident possum. Everything about Villa Samadhi is beautiful and most generous and kind. Wished we were able to stay longer and it gives much pleasure to be able to recommend this old garrison, now exquisite hotel to anyone coming to Singapore.

We arrived late in the evening and unfortunately were only staying one night. We we're very well looked after from check in to check out. We found it peaceful and relaxing for the short time we were there and would definitely come back for a longer stay.

The hotel is a great place to stay if you want a hotel where you can actually enjoy the hotel rather than just a place to sleep. Of course the location is not the usual downtown, but the park around the hotel is great if you want to feel out of town. The common areas are lovely places to hang out, the attached restaurant was superb and the complimentary cocktails, port at bedtime and the breakfast were all delightful. It was a pleasure just hanging out in the hotel.

Great hotel in a former colonial building so lots of character. Situated near a nature reserve and surrounded by lush vegetation the hotel is completely unlike most other hotels in Singapore, and good for a restful few days, although Clarke Quay and the city centre are just a short taxi ride away.
Very friendly and helpful staff. No lift but staff we happy to carry my very heavy suitcase up several flights of stairs to my room. My room had a four-poster bed a huge wooden bath tub, and a complimentary decanter of port for a late night-cap. The bedroom was generally comfortable, but some kind of desk and chair would have been welcome to do some work on.
Free of charge cocktail hour 6-7pm was a nice touch and provided a chance to meet other guests.
The catering offer is a bit limited. The restaurant associated with the hotel is a couple of minutes walk away, and offers first class food, but sometimes you just want something to eat, not a gourmet culinary experience. There are no other restaurants within walking distance. Also apart from cocktail hour there is no bar.
I'll keep the hotel in mind for the next time I am in Singapore for a night or two.
