Great location, outstanding customer service, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to enjoy the good vibes of Santa Marta… special shout out to Javier, he was extremely attentive and accommodating and made our time at the hotel unforgettable. Placita vieja exceeded all our expectations !!!

Muy lindo hotel en el Centro Histórico de Santa Marta,as habitaciones, limpias y bonitas. La atención del personal fue inmejorable.

The hotel was wonderful located right on Parques de los novios where all the good restaurants are. The service was marvelous. Anything you wanted was done for you in a very friendly manner. you could have whatever you wanted for breakfast each morning. The pool was kept in immaculate condition.

Excellent staff and location. Looking over the Bride and Groom park. Really enjoyed the pool. 4th trip to Santa Marta. Best hotel i stayed at. Highly recommend staying here.

Very clean and spacious. I stayed in the Presidential Suite, which has a large patio and beautiful view of the mountains and the sea with a few glorious sunsets during my stay. The outdoor shower was unique too. Though it lacked a few amenities, it was overall a very nice experience. The suite is very private as well, another nice feature. The pool was clean and large enough to enjoy. I saw a worker cleaning the pool on my first day there. The staff was very friendly and helpful and on my last day, the lady front desk person helped me make a last minute reservation with Marsol Transport Service for my return to Cartagena. Muchas gracias. I hope to stay again.I mentioned this in my initial report but the hotel is a bit hard to find if arriving by foot. My IPhone Apple map has it placed incorrectly in the Plaza de los Novios on the opposite side of the their location. There are also two signs for the hotel on the Justica Building but that is not the site of the hotel. The hotel is actually across the plaza from this (white) government building on the other side in the corner near Donde Cucho Restaurant.

Placita Vieja Hotel offered me a safe place to rest and sleep before my four day backpacking adventure to the Lost City.Placita Vieja is located next to a Park de Los Novios and many restaurants, bars and coffee shops.

Really loved our stay here. Had a brand new room on second floor right next to pool. Pool had a connected sauna so you can go in and out seamlessly. Pool deck has a nice view out over the parque de los novios. The staff is very sweet and accommodating. Only complaints were a check in that took waaaay too long (45 minutes ) and our breakfast wasn’t ready when requested and they changed what we ordered the night before.

Beautiful historic building, friendly staff and top facilities. Perfect to be experience Santa Marta’s culture and vibe.

Its a wonderful boutique hotel that fronts El Parque de los Novios in the center of old Santa Marta. The staff was friendly and attentive, the room was spotless, the A/C blew cold air and the shower had hot water. All was appreciated.Good dining is nearby, and El Parque de los Novios is the center of nightlife for that area. Theres good shopping, the beach is a two-minute walk, and taxis are easy to obtain. Santa Marta itself seems a little decaying and past its prime, but the Placita Vieja Hotel was an absolute gem.

Beautiful little hotel right in the heart of Santa Marta, Colombia. Professional and highly efficient competent staff. KUDOS to Jesus, Eunice and the Kitchen personnel for their outstanding support during our stay.

Charming hotel located on the corner of the main town square which provides great access to restaurants and nightlife. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This could easily be a 5-star review, however there are a few negatives worth noting. We booked the deluxe room which is located on the ground floor, right next to the reception desk. This room is comfortable and spacious, but facing the main (lively) square made it very noisy and overall lacking in privacy. I would really recommend requesting a room in the back. You also have to knock to be let in to the hotel each time, which has the unintended impact of making you feel like you’re being monitored. I still would have given it 5 stars, but we had a really strange incident occur at check out which left us with a bad taste. We were about to leave when the staff went in to do a thorough check of the room, noticing that apparently one of the small towels was missing. Other staff came to help turn the room upside down and this started turning into a small scene at the front with the driver from the Marsol transport van waiting. The possibility and likelihood that this towel was never supplied to us wasn’t even considered, so it seemed that we simply must have taken it. To avoid making the situation even more awkward, we just offered to pay for it so we can be on our way - a gesture which they promptly accepted. Perhaps make a note of what towels/items have been supplied to you each day and follow up if something’s missing,

We stayed there during the busy weekend nights and did not hear any music or noise from outside. The pool area is a great relaxing option and they also offer a massage service. Totally recommendable.
