Franklin was a very helpful host with tips for activities. Free breakfast was included.

I would give 6 stars if possible. Our room had a loft where our daughter stayed. Franklin and Carla were super-friendly and helpful. The terrace where we had breakfast every day looking out at the mountains could be my new favorite place ever. Unfortunately, there was a full moon so we did not go stargazing, but we did lots of other day trips to amazing places. Definitely plan to go back!!

This is a very nice place to stay, outside the noise and bustle of San Pedro de Atacama. Its located just outside town and a short walk(unless its 32C outside). There are six large rooms, with a beautiful view of the large volcano. Breakfast is in a separate dining room, but we ate on the patio with the view. DOWNSIDE, is that there is no air conditioning, or good cross-ventilation in the rooms, so even though it cools down at night, not in time for a good sleep.

I recommend unreservedly that you stay at Planeta Atacama Lodge. You will not be disappointed. This is the place to stay for memories of your trip to this stunning and otherworldly corner of our planet that will last for your lifetime.
I am a 54-year old solo female Adventurer with mobility issues. I call two countries "home"...The United States and The Republic of Trinidad & Tobago.
Let me start with the surroundings. The property is wildly unique. There are just 5 adjoining rooms. Everything is made out of wood and other natural materials from the desert. The whole property - from the entrance to the walkways to the rooms and dining area -was deliberately designed to elicit an unbroken harmony between The Lodge and the desert.
The room itself is big enough for a family. There is a king bed on the ground floor and a loft with two beds. There's a large bathroom and plenty of shelf space. A huge window looks out onto the Lascar and Licancabur volcanoes, and a nice chunk of the Andes.
One of the best reasons you should stay here is Franklin and Carla - the Managers of The Lodge.
Franklin speaks impeccable English. He knows the area very well. He willingly reviews your plans for the day, providing you with priceless tips. He can also make your tour bookings for you. He and Carla are friendly and fun folks. He is always available on WhatsApp. They are caring people who make you feel like they have your back - invaluable for the solo traveler especially.

Our stay at Planeta Atacama was incredible. Before our arrival, Franklin (host) contacted us to confirm our arrival time to coordinate details and navigation details. Upon arrival we were greeted with a custom sign which provided us our room and wi-fi details. Franklin waited for us to arrive and was kind to allow us to complete the checkin process the next day, as we were hungry and tired from a full day of travel.
The next morning we completed the check-in process and had a chance to meet Carla, Franklin’s partner and Chef who cooked us up a delicious breakfast - and tasty strong percolator coffee! The lodge is located in a magical part of the desert, and the breakfast area faces North to volcano Licancabur and the border to Bolivia. The overall architecture is beautiful - adobe and ‘brea’ - utilizing local materials and very well crafted rooms and spaces. Our hotel room had a loft bed, and plenty of room for storage. The bed was super cozy and warm and the window was a seamless view North.
The location is about 5 minutes from town center, 10min. From Valle de la Luna, 40 min. From Puritama.
Overall we would recommend this lodge for those looking to stay on the ourskirts of the town. We met incredible people - Carla, Franklin, their kids, Oreo (dog) and Mery. All were very helpful in our planning and experience in San Pedro de Atacama. As a personal treat we had a chance to speak to the architect, Juan Soto, and shared our gratitude for the beautiful designed space.

A truly unique place! Super close to nature, amazing view, perfect for full disconnect. Franklin, the host manager, has been extremely helpful & friendly - he did not only help with all our daytrips, but also organized a NYE celebration for the guests at the hostel. Def recommend!

Awesome and helpful staff. I have really enjoyed the stay. When I will travel to San Pedro, I will definitely stay in this place again. The view from the room is amazing - directly on the mountains. Since it is a bit away from the centre, it was ideal for me.

Excellent property in Santa Fe De Atacama. Aboutba 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive to town. Absolutely silent at night except for the sound of animals.

This is an Eco hotel in Dan Pedro de Atacama. There was no AC, but a fan is provided for the short amount of time the room is warm in the evening before the night air cools greatly. Breakfast is lovely and includes a pot of coffee and freshly made fruit juice and eggs cooked to order if you wish. Manuela spent about half an hour looking at a local map with us discussing the best routes to take and in wish order to see areas due to the altitude changes and what to do I Town. We enjoyed our stay here.

A perfect place for people who want to be away from crowds, and immersed further into the natural beauty of San Pedro de Atacama. This is a beautiful location, with wonderful grounds for relaxing. Its relative distance from the center of town is easily managed, especially with free use of the lodges bicycles. Rooms are stylish and simple- all things well maintained. While breakfast was available and good, it should be noted that there is no other availability of food onsite, and visitors should plan/eat out accordingly. Manuela and Juan were extremely considerate hosts and helped make arrangements and suggestions during my stay, in a way that was greatly appreciated. Very special place!

We stayed at the Planeta Atacama Lodge during a recent trip to the Atacama Desert. We chose this hotel because it was on the outskirts of the pueblo (yet still in town) which meant we could enjoy stargazing in the dark night sky without too much light pollution. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and welcoming, the rooms were large and comfortable, the breakfasts were delicious with authentic French croissants served each day, and the gorgeous views from the picture windows made us feel like we were in the savannas of Africa. It was so quiet and peaceful that we would have enjoyed just relaxing outside with a book all day, and would have done so if we werent so busy sightseeing the wonders of the desert during our two day trip. We had a lovely time!

A real “get away from it all” property. I spend my working life in large chain hotels throughout the world. A four day break at the Planeta Atacama Lodge was a perfect contrast and was well away from the noise of the town but still within easy reach.
The views are stunning and Katia makes a lot of effort to ensure her guests total satisfaction.

This was one of my favourite places I’ve stayed. Loved the eco way it’s been built. Katie is an amazing manager, never stopping giving you local must do information! I highly recommend to rent a car here, Katie can organise this for you. Yummy breakfasts, clean rooms. Zero complaints!! A 15 minute walk into town. I recommend 3 nights minimum to do what you need to do.

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay in the Atacama Desert and Planeta Atacama was a true highlight. The room was big, comfy, quiet, and had a breath-taking view that we wished we could bring home with us. Breakfast every morning was delicious and filling. Kate gave us a ton of itinerary recommendations which were invaluable and very organized so we could easily pick and choose our top excursions.Would recommend to anyone wanting a quiet retreat from which to see all the beauty the desert has to offer. We hope to return someday! It was a dream!

This is a beatiful and intimate lodge style hotel in a quiet and natural setting of San Pedro de Atacama. It's a wonderful blend of traditional materials and design with modern features and conveniences. The mountain views and star filled skies are both serene and spectacular. The service is top notch and the common areas are perfect for private and communal gatherings. The personal touch and assistance from staff truly differentiate this hotel from the many others that we stayed at during our travels in Chile.

My husband and I stayed for 4 days at Planeta Atacama and had a wonderful time. Katia, the manager, was there to greet us on arrival and was very friendly and helpful. She showed us around the hotel, helped us with suggestions on tours and the best places and times to visit the sites. We enjoyed lots of chats with her and other hotel guests in the common area too. The rooms are gorgeous, spacious and have the most amazing view of the Andes. The thick, clay walls are great for insulation and it was nice to go into a fresh space when it was very hot outside (we visited in summer). The beds are very comfortable, the shower was great and had very nice toiletries available. Breakfast was included and it was very nice with a spread of cold meat, cheese, bread and fruit. They also offer eggs and fresh juice which was great. The communal kitchen is also available for you to make your own meals during the rest of the day. The location is on the outskirts of town so it takes about 20min to walk from the bars, shops and restaurants. We did it the first night but given how dark it is, we decided to drive into town the rest of the nights. There are bikes available at the hotel too which you can borrow but the road is very bumpy and dusty. Overall, we loved our stay at Planeta Atacama and would recommend it.

This hotel was one of our special experiences in Chile. Juan and staff made our stay great, providing info on what to explore whilst in the area. Rooms very clean and large built in the Adobe style that made our stay all the more unique. Thanks Juan

Management did not confirm our reservation, claiming Expedia never sent the reservation. Turns out the reservation had been sent to the hotel but never seen on their end. Frustrating to travel such a far distance to potentially not have a room due to the management’s error. Luckily there was an extra room available for the duration of our stay so no actual problems. Management also bought us a bottle of wine seemingly to apologize for their mistake.
