The rooms were big and had everything you need. Nice views too and lovely pool.
The food was basic in the restaurant but it’s probably no different to any food you would get in the area. If it was served hot it would be a huge improvement.
We skipped breakfast to avoid further disappointment so they gave us a packed breakfast to take on the boat, not great food but great that they made the effort.
It felt a bit overpriced for the area.

We had a wonderful stay. The F&B guy was great - set up a fabulous table every evening on our terrace overlooking the Mekong. Great place, great food, great service!

Very pretty surroundings, lots of flowers and lily ponds. Many many steps! Lovely welcome with welcome drink and cold towel. Excellent spacious room and shower room overlooking the Mekong. Swimming pool, infinity, overlooking Mekong with bar and 2 staff. Food in restaurant very good, plenty of choice. Good service. No buffet breakfast, eggs, sausage, bacon, potato a little cold. Croissant and bread/toast with jam. Coffee/tea. Only downside, hot water in shower ran out in a few minutes meaning second person had tepid shower.

I thoroughly enjoyed my two nights here. Most travelers to Pakbeng stay only overnight, continuing the next day on their slow river boat trip. During the day there are few or no tourists in Pakbeng town, and it’s enjoyable to walk around, visit the temple, and practice English with the children who hang out there. There’s not really much else to do in town. The hotel grounds are lovely, and the pool is refreshing in the heat of the afternoon. Staff are friendly, but many of them are still struggling with basic English, so communication was sometimes difficult. Breakfast and dinner were both excellent.
The hotel is on a steep hill, and it’s a bit of a hike up from the lower bungalows to the restaurant at the top of the hill. Navigating the grounds in the dark is a little bit tricky, because of the variety of paving styles and subdued lighting.
Overall I enjoyed my stay, and I’m very glad that I spent two nights instead of rushing off on the slow river boat after one night.

The rooms are beautiful, the infinity pool is amazing and the views are incredible. It's a bit pricey for Laos but it is too class. They pick you up from the boat port and drop you off for free (we forgot to let them know we were coming and they still knew to come and get us).
Just don't order the cheese burger in the restaurant... It's actually a slice of cheese in a bun... We also asked for no onion and we seemed to have got extra, but can put that down to language difficulties.

Le Grand PakBeng is an incredibly lovely hotel located in this incredibly small town. The hotel is situated on a hill next to the Mekong so the views are great. There is a sort of an infinity pool with a pool side bar that also has amazing views. Each room is a small individual house. Very modern and tastefully decorated. Very large. Ours had a balcony overlooking the Mekong. No tv. Exceptional service. Some of the rooms require quite a hike to get to. The food in the restaurant, however, was disappointing. We had a beef Penang curry and the beef was very tough and chewy. Basically, inedible. The spicy green papaya salad was not spicy but rather sweet/ disappointing.

It was good but I was expecting more for the price. Do not get me wrong the hotel is lovely and has spectacular views of the river especially for sunset. We stayed two nights so we could have a pool day but it was boring and there is nothing to do in town. The staff are super friendly and helpful. One side note there are tons of stairs and the shower floor is weird.

A new resort with wonderful views. Relaxing at the pool with the view of the Mekong river was special. Staff very attentive.

Best place to stay in Pakbeng. My only complaint is that the dinner costs 20 dollars. There is no other option because its too far from town
