Clean room...Nice Breakfast...Convenient area

Very nice stay. Comfortable, clean and very hospitable.

We stayed here after riding our tandem to Cayucos and back. We specifically wanted a place with a jacuzzi but it was out of service...The pool area was very nice and we lounged instead. The bath tub in our room was mounted poorly and creaked and popped like it was going to fail (I'm not large). Room was clean, staff was great and breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts we've had

The room was clean and quiet, within walking distance of great coffee shops. It's about 1 mile to campus, up a hill, so a little harder if you plan to walk around campus etc. But we enjoyed our stay and would stay again for sure.

Room was great. Very clean and comfortable. Easy check-in/check-out. Unfortunately the pool and hot tub were broken (and dirty), which was a big reason why we booked this property. They also charge $15 a day for parking which we did not anticipate (no free street parking in the area).

Stayed for 2 nights for a weekend wedding and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Friendly staff that accomodated early checkin request. Clean room and very comfy bed. Awesome rooftop pool and views. Negatives: a bit pricey and not much conterspace or storage in bathroom. The refridgerator is in the clothes closet which limits hanging up long clothes items. Highly recommend staying here!

Stayed with the family and we enjoyed it. The beds were just OK to me but my husband complained that his back hurt so much. I don’t really expect too much from hotel beds though. The staff were great. Carmen greeted us with a warm welcome and offered us water. The room we had was on the 2nd floor which is the “lowest level” and where the free breakfast is held. They offered waffles and pancakes everyday we were there. Food was good. The food staff were all nice and helpful and tried to maintain an organized line for the waffles which I appreciated. We kept 2 bikes with them and they kept them nice and safe. They have a texting service if you want to get a hold of the front desk - super convenient! I loved how the fridge was located in the closet. I was able to put our snacks in the area where they typically would put the fridge. Restaurant right next door. Close to Avila Beach, Madonna, Pismo Beach. Wonderful stay with kids!

Bathroom door didn't lock or deck door

I had a great time, this hotel is located close to the downtown area, without being to crowded. Clean and very friendly. Will be returning!

Nice hotel, well maintained. Room was comfortable. Wildfire in the area resulted in power loss and lack of hot water. Hotel did not have a generator, while most others in immediate area did. No effort by management to address the circumstances. Other than that, staff was very pleasant.

Very disappointed by thid hotel: breakfast closes very early. At 9:40, we could not enjoy. Somebody knocked at our door waking us up before 9 despite I sent a mail stating we would check out at 11 and I discover $15 charge for parking never mentioned. Btw, from very far worst experience in the US for the last 3 weeks…

Nice facilities, easy to find and easy to get to and from the freeway.

The best hotel i love it

Very clean, friendly welcoming staff. The town is lovely and walkable to downtown from the hotel.

Cleaning staff barely knocked before letting themselves into the room at 9am the morning we were supposed to check out, and then at 11am when we had requested late check out and confirmed upon check in. A little startling as I was breastfeeding my little one and he was so close to a nap. The pool area was impossible to manuever with a stroller - it did have a ramp and seemed handicap friendly, but the lounge chairs took up so much room there was no way to get through to the SR-Smith Pool Lift. Even the lounge chair close enough to where I had to park the stroller was broken - and not marked as broken. Just a lack of attention to detail and lack of upkeep - the bathroom door was off the rails a bit and took a lot of effort to close all the way, the elevators took a very long time, and the staff takes priority over guests in it's use, the stairs are a great option, but not every levels stair access doors are open (which makes for a scary and fun guessing game as you try to get to your room). Wouldn't recommend it, and if you did stay, ask if the pool is open or undergoing construction. The Wayfarer across the street looked like heaven. The front desk staff and the breakfast staff were the only reasons that the stay was bearable.

Overall it was good. There was only two things that wasn't up to par. The temperature control in the room was not attached to the wall very well and would fall when the temperature change was needed it would sometimes fall off. Also one of the elevators didn't work. Breakfast was very good. Beds were very comfortable. Everything was very clean.

Liked the staff

We stayed for 1 night while attending an event at Cal Poly SLO. LOCATION - close to the university, not in Old Town but 20min walk (1 mile). ROOM - Average for 3 star hotel AMENITIES - Roof top was small and shallow (3 feet) which was actually perfect for me but could be an issue for someone expecting a proper pool. Plenty of towels and comfy lounging chairs. Some umbrellas would be helpful as it was really hot and there wasn't any shade on the roof. BREAKFAST - It was ok, there was some variety, even fresh waffles, however, there was no cut fruit - only whole oranges and apples. SERVICE - Again, average. We tried to check in earlier than 3pm since we got into town before the check in time but we were told the room wasn't ready. While at the hotel it did not look like they were busy at all. I got the sense that only a few rooms were being used. Either way, they made us wait until after 3pm. The elevator in the lobby was not working and we had to walk around to the parking garage elevator which was not ideal. SAFETY - not much to speak of. The elevator is supposed to work only with a guest room card, however, we were able to use it without using the card which means that anybody can walk right in.

Beautiful rooms, nice little balcony, restaurant on property if needed, spacious rooms, wonderful bathrooms. A little better signage would have been appreciated as I could not figure out how to get to breakfast room from my room [it was just down hall into another hall] but at juncture of hall, no arrow/sign indicating that. But otherwise, great stay.

Nice place with a nice view, only the fact that the pool isn't really a pool, it's more a SPA than pool. 2feet 8 inches like a deep!!!

On our last day while closing our hotel room door we discovered the room door does not lock. This is very concerning. We immediately notified management while checking out.

Absolutely awesome

Had a great time at La Quinta Inn & Suites, San Luis Obispo. Staff was friendly. The included breakfast was great. Hot food like scrambled eggs, sausage, with pancake and waffle maker, yogurt etc. Unlike continental breakfasts as your typical place. Nice gym, pool, and parking. Pet and kid friendly place. Room was clean and a/c works great. My family had wonderful experience.

Fan in the room is so noisy and the property itself only has 1 working elevator.

Had everything I needed. Convenient location, easy parking, and breakfast. The staff member that checked me in was amazing too!

The hotel looked much nicer in the online photos than in person, which is not that big of a deal-the reason for the 2-star rating includes the following given that the price of the hotel was on the pricier side: (1) main elevator was broken leaving only one inconvenient elevator to access all guest rooms resulting in lengthy wait times. (2) A/C did not work in the room and when we brought this to management's attention a maintenance man came and told us there was nothing he could do and offered us a fan (signaling it was a common complaint). When asked to speak with the manager it was noted that there was not one available. (3) Maintenance was ongoing at the hotel and would often start early in the morning resulting in loud noises in the rooms which were not very well insulated. Also just made the hotel look and feel very inadequate. (4) EV Charging (one of the reasons we chose this hotel) was slow and was full most of the time we needed it (i.e. even charging all night would not charge the car the full).

Comfortable beds. Soft cotton linen. Quiet setting. Lots of mold in the tub/shower stall.

There were some repairs going on while we stayed there so only 1 elevator was working. Not really a problem. The breakfast was sufficient and there were options.

The room was comfortable - quiet and clean. I did not like the smell of the cleaning products used so had to open the door and keep the fan on. One of the two elevators was out of service, so the one elevator was slow. And a long walk.
