We loved how warm, cosy, draft-free and light the property was. We liked the height of the ceilings, the light in the rooms, the well equipped kitchen and its extensive herbs & spices rack, the sheltered outdoor room of a garden (which we didn't use but it would be a great asset in summer). The location & area is excellent (we enjoyed Barnard Castle and being able to walk to Bowes Museum, Raby Castle & Gardens, Eggleston Hall Gardens & Nursery, The Auckland Project at Bishop Auckland). We hope to return.

Lovely accommodation, good spec and high quality. Great location for the town centre and for getting out to the countryside. If you are without pets this really is top marks accommodation.

It’s not really dog friendly. Lots of laminated signs saying no dogs upstairs and on the furniture. So the extra £30 was for the ‘privilege’ of keeping the dog in the kitchen/lounge and me sleeping downstairs so the dog wasn’t stressed. Either you are fully dog friendly or not, it can’t really be half measures, but with the enjoyment of receiving additional costs. A shame, otherwise the place would have been full stars on everything.

Property is clean, comfortable our workers love staying at this property. We have booked this property a few times now as it is in a perfect location for our work & has parking.

The property was spacious and modern with a good enclosed garden and parking for two cars. It was ideally situated for walking into town, to Bowes museum, the castle, and the river.

We are bemused that basics like hand soap and more than two dishwasher tablets aren’t provided as standard when a welcome pack that includes some sweets and a few biscuits is?!

Claire House was very well presented and very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed and more.

This is more a suggestion than a criticism. The second double bedroom could do with a mirror.

Small things - no side tables in lounge, no shelf in shower for soap/shampoo, two toilets but only one toilet roll, very slippery shower tray, complicated oven, no bedside tables, and not very pet friendly.

Lovely, modern and very clean house, excellent parking, easy to find and fantastic location for access to pubs, shops and restaurants within Barnard Castle. Good local walks with places of interest close by such as Bowes museum that you can walk to within 10 mins. House is spacious with an enclosed garden to the rear so safe for pets which are allowed but to be kept downstairs. Excellent shower and bath, well equipped kitchen with all the usual white goods. Highly recommended as a base for access to the area. The welcome pack was a lovely gesture and very welcomed. Would definitely stay again. Thank you.

Nothing of note, however for future improvements a shelving type solution next to the shower enclosure for ease of access to products instead of having to place them on the shower floor and a freestanding towel rail next to the sink again for convenience.
