The air conditioner did not work so the room was very muggy and the toilet was not flushing. Luckily my parents were in the room next door so we were able to use their bathroom when needed. The beds were okay but the pillows were extremely lumpy and uncomfortable.

Chose this hotel as it advertised a fitness center. However, all of the machines were broken! Additionally, the sheets had stains on them, and there was a used band aid on the floor in the room. Overall not a great stay.

Horrible experience. First called the night before to see about early check in. Was told my reservation was not in system to call back after midnight. After confirming with hotels.com my reservation number called back 5 minutes after and magically my reservation is there. Was never given answers to early. Showed up asked to early check in was told no because room was not cleaned yet. However, the state of the room shows it has not been cleaned in month. Shower head was disgusting, fridge had mold growing in. When told about it the level of filth the front desk manager in morning was not even surprised. The manager that was assisting a new employee when I checked in was also very rude to the new employee. 0 customer service skills.

Room was like a sauna. Very abnormally hot for middle of November. AC would not work. Something is wrong with the heating system. Left in the middle of the night. I would like a refund.

Hotel was over booked and they cancelled our reservation without telling us. There was a tournament in town and there was no more rooms anywhere. Had to keep driving another hour and a half to find another hotel for the night

No water pressure to take showers. Breakfast is lacking in variety and amount. Inside has been completely renovated, rooms are nice and clean. The rest of the hotel is old and dirty.

We had a good stay at this hotel. Our room was a bit outdated and in need of a few repairs (broken lamp, bathtub could use work, etc.), but it was clean and the beds were comfortable.

Place looked updated somewhat. However I couldn’t use the shower as the shower head was funky with water deposits and water was not flowing through it.
Sheets were dirty as well.

By far the most disgusting hotel I've ever seen. Filthy room, marks on the walls and furniture, and stains on the bathroom linens, all leading to... Cockroaches, killed four. Desk, floor, bedding, all had visitors. By the time I found the last one, I stripped the sheets and chanced the night ats it was close to 1AM. Staff at the desk claimed they had a pest control service and that the rooms were cleaned regularly, so don't waste your money.

Horrific! Our group had two rooms. Both were terrible. We would’ve left but there was limited availability due to the high school rodeo finals. This is why they also charged double of what they normally charge. We chose the hotel because it had a decent rating and was close to the rodeo.
To begin with, the bathroom fans looked like they’re about to fall. We had to go buy cleaners when we arrived. There was rust in and around the shower. There were stains on the carpet, furniture, and even the bedding. Towels had holes. A tiny shampoo and one small bar of soap is all we were given. Each room had the same large type of bug in our bathrooms. In our room we had to ask for a coffeemaker. Once I found a way to cut the zip tie on the cord, I discovered it didn’t reach any outlets. Although the owner said he’d give a small discount for each day we were told later they couldn’t do it since we had prepaid through Expedia. The whole stay was so disappointing.

If I could get my money back I would! Extremely dirty walls, floors, bathtub, sink, carpets! Totally disappointing in not only the hotel but Expedia for giving this dump a good rating! I will be deleting this app and also give a bad review not only for Howard Johnson in Gillette Wyoming but for Expedia for false advertising.

There was no AC unit or fridge. Was not very clean. Not happy at all.

Although this was only a place to sleep, the up-keeping of the property was poor. The bathroom was in bad shape, the ceiling was ready to collapse, the shower looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned in a while, the toilet rocked, there was grime on the faucet and rust on the tiles. Luckily I care my own cleaning wipes and disinfect spray.

This hotel was sadly terrible. There was mold around the windows and in the sink. The door to ouside had about an inch of space between the door and the floor and could see outside. There were stains on the bedding, shower curtains and on the carpets. One of the rooms they offered smelled of smoke even though they insisted it was a non smoking hotel. The breakfast was nothing but prepackaged breads and they wouldnt let you have more than one. The ice machine was broken and when we asked if there was somewhere to get ice or water the staff was rude. Would never recommend this hotel.

This property is very old and needs a lot of updating. We had a blue bathtub with a way to get the shower to come on I had never seen and I am 75. The front desk people were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good.

Decent price for a quick overnight stay. The hotel is older, bathroom fixtures need serious upgrading- they were corroded which makes everything else feel dirty. But, honestly it was clean and tidy. It's just an old motel that needs updating. I was a little nervous since it was just me and my son, but everything turned out ok. Won't stay there again though. Excellent customer service when checking in.

Staff don’t want to you help you, cleaning service will open the doors without knocking they walked in while my wife was getting out of the shower! It even happened to another guest we talked to! I will never stay here again and when I brought these concerns up to the manager she called me a liar and refused to speak to me! TERRIBLE SERVICE AND TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT! Don’t stay here!

Cool carpet, close to loud overpass. Tub was leaking/had some kind of mold/mildew stains - needs replaced. Saw waffle makers in the breakfast bar picture, but only had microwave pancakes.

Both Orbitz and the Howard Johnson website said they offered a shuttle service to the airport. When I was checking in I was informed that this was not the case. I needed a 4:30am transportation. I could not reach any cab services to schedule a pick up and Uber would have been $45. I had to cancel my reservation and book elsewhere.
The young man, Jared, working the front desk was very helpful, however. He did amazing and called other hotels to try to find one that offered a shuttle.

The staff for the most part were not friendly at all, in fact several were very rude. Our room had holes in the walls, it smelled bad the ceiling in the bathroom was falling down, the sheets were stained, the carpets were gross. We had to leave every morning before breakfast and asked if we could just get an apple or something, and were told no breakfast is at a certain time and not before. We stayed for a whole week and should have spent the bit extra to get a much nicer place. I will NEVER stay here again and won't recommend it to Anyone. I have stayed at Howard Johnsons before and was excited to see one here. That excitement was quickly dashed. This one is a disgrace to the name, OR the chain has gone down hill!
