This hotel is across the street from Mercado del Puerto where there is dining, and shopping options. Hotel has a great location in the old town city center. A very walkable area with a supermarket and pharmacy around the corner. Also within walking distance to Las Ramblas. Just across the street from hotel there is a bus stop where you can take multiple buses which take you all around the city. Hotel personnel were very nice and helpful.. Oscar at the front desk was extremely nice and very helpful.. he would guide us on what bus to take to reach different areas of the city. Hotel is remodeled and very clean. Also a big plus is bathroom has standup shower which is very easy to get in and out of. Thank You for a great 11 day stay.

My parents had a great time in this hotel.

It’s in la cuidad vieja very close to the port where many cruise ships dock and many tourists in the area restaurants and bars very friendly people. Around the corner of the hotel is a very popular pedestrian walk way with shops and bars even at night its safe in this area police station on back corner street with many officers walking around. Hotel is simple with a/c and very friendly staff.

Helpful staff, clean, great location

The reception by Oscar was esplendid, a person that make your stay confortable and frendly. He's the type of person that provides the added value to any company. The hotel is vey nice and convenient, it's very close to the port, with low luggage could be a walking distance from the Port.

Used this hotel as a home base for a day trip. Outstanding location. Cant beat the price. Dont expect much though if youre staying for multiple nights.

Clean and nice staff

The location is great if you're getting off, or going to the ferry - it's an easy walk and straightforward. The staff were kind and helpful, and the men at the front desk all spoke English. The surrounding area is a bit sketchy - towards the dock is vibrant and interesting, but further away it becomes quite scary and not a place to go at night. The rooms are small and a bit dated, but comfortable and quiet. It's a great place to spend a night before heading off on an Uruguay adventure.

Desk helped me get into my room at 8 am after a long flight ! Very helpful ... kind staff ... clean ... not so expensive ... Area was good in old city and port .. but Montevideo overall isn’t that clean, Not that safe to walk around alone at night a few blocks away from hotel for the port

The hotel is in the historical part of Montevideo and close to the well known, although somewhat pricey, quite large restaurant area, where meat is king.
The breakfast was pleasing, but could have offered just a little more.

Amazing employees, great services and people have a lot of good will.

A nice and reasonably priced hotel near the Peatonal Sarandi and Pérez Castellano walking streets in the portlands mercado area. Rooms are clean and comfortable, air conditioning and wifi are excellent, very eco-friendly. Staff are professional, friendly and everyone at the desk speaks decent English if your Spanish language skills are as weak as mine. Very happy with my stay there.

Good location, helpful service. Rooms are ok, but very small. Worse, in the small courtyard next to the room were a dozen large ACs that made sleep nearly impossible.
2.5
Great hotel, very clean and comfortable.
Reception staff were all very professional, friendly and helpful.
The room was well appointed and clean, the bed was super comfortable.
Only slightly negative point was the breakfast, however it was very cheap and worth the money, I would have preferred to pay more and have a better choice including hot food and egg dishes.
I loved the location, I was visiting shops in the port which is only a 5 minute walk from tbe hotel. Great for public transport, cafes, bars restaurants and supermarkets.
Highly reccommended.

Reasonably priced, good accomodation. Not in the very centre but within 15 minutes walking distance. Rooms are small but clean and with A/C. Breakfast was good, there were a few additional items as opposed to just coffee and pastries.

Location is great, right next to the harbor plaza, close to ferry and right next to pedestrian street that takes you down to most of the sights.
However- it was loud from the street so If you’re a light sleeper this is not for you. Also there were issues with cleanliness, stains on decoration pillows that I don’t want to think about and hair in the shower. Also- ***NO GYM!! *** It’s states in two places on Expedia that this hotel has a gym and there are pictures of a gym but there is none!

Bed sheet dirty, really small room, hotel service disappointing... do not recommend for any one

I’m between 3 and 4 because the second night they never made the room, so me husband and I found our room just as we left it. It was really disappointing, since we were tired after a whole day of walking. They never said anything about it. Other than the poor service, the location is good, just be aware that since it is in the downtown you may not have many options of places to eat/ drinks at night walking distance from the hotel during weekends.

We had an excellent lodging. All as agreed. It was excellent.

The hotel is conveniently located for my needs.
The rooms are okay, but not spectacular.
The pillows are the hardest I have ever encountered!

This Hotel is really well located and the staff were very helpful. It helped us that their English was great. Also - a lovely breakfast.

This hotel is in an amazing location, it's clean, and comfortable. The staff are all very friendly. I rented a room with a view and was disappointed to get a view of a concrete wall on the first floor.

A lovely indoor fountain right outside our bedroom window.
Probably the hardest pillows I have ever tried to sleep on!
2.5
Great location and great service. I would definitely stay there again. (Rooms are small, but wasn’t an issue)

Property was reasonably clean and not as expensive as other hotels in Montevideo. Did not like the neighborhood. The safe, lamp and mini fridge were not working upon arrival. The first two items were fixed. We didn’t realize the mini fridge didn’t work so did not inform management. The AC was overhead and blasted cold air on you. If you shut it off room was hot and humid. Room was tiny and humid. And air vent in bathroom was very dirty. Breakfast was ok, staff was great, and common areas were very nice cool and cosy.

Great property in the old part of Montevideo. Very close to the port and market. A pleasant walk to independence plaza down the pedestrian only street.
The hotel had a good and varied breakfast, good sized room, comfortable bed and air con. The staff wwe very friendly and understood enough English to be able to communicate. A great stay.

I was very happy with the hotel, staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located very close to the port and near the old town pedestrian blocks and the Sarandi shopping area. Old town is run down, but felt safe during the day.
2.5
Clean, bright hotel with friendly staff who spoke English. Close to the Puerto Mercado and Sarandi Calle. Great value for money.

Good location if you need to be close to the port.Room was a bit noisy from street and other guests but that is the only real negative

Front desk staff is friendly and helpful when you can find one who speaks English. Internet connection is terrible. Halls are very hot. Rooms are a bit small.

Great value

The Hotel scammed Hotels.com and Hotels.com passed the scam on to me. My reservation confirmation specifically said I was purchasing a Room with a view and a double bed. What I received was a room on the first floor with zero view, a single bed that was about 25 inches wide squeezed into a room that was about 50 inches wide.

Boutique style hotel...smallish rooms but well done. In the old city which is quiet and not very safe at night. Area is in transition as investment comes in. Use Uber at night.
1.3
This hotel is very new and modern, in very good quality and very clean. It is located right in the old town, one block away from the Puerto Mercado, and directly next to a wonderful pedestrian street. Breakfast was good and plentiful, and the staff was very helpful. We stayed on the street side on the top floor, which gave us a wonderful view of all the people (and tourists) walking below. It does mean you get some street noise, but that died down enough at night so it didnt bother our sleep. I saw some reviews questioning safety in the neighbourhood. I understand the concerns, since there seem to be some homeless people and stray dogs around, but we never felt unsafe. Uruguayans are very friendly, even the people hanging out on the streets.
2.5
Totally renovated with imagination. Small but clever space in rooms, all you need, very clean. Extremely close to port markets and wonderful restaurants.
