Clean and comfortable room quiet location within easy walking distance of the city centre.

Booked in for a couple nights. Was a little worried due to the old reviews. Overall though it was a clean room and comfortable stay. Due to being in a city, it was a bit nosey at night but this didn’t personally bother me. There was a strange odour (like cheesey snacks) but again, didn’t bother me. Overall, I just wanted a cheap place to stay and this was better than other places I’ve been. Would stay again

The staff was friendly and helpful. Ckean hotel for the purchase.

Clean and central location. Clock and bathroom extractor fan did not work. TV lost signal every 10 minutes.

We were charged £240 for the night to stay in a tiny room with no bathroom. We had to use a bathroom down the corridor.

We found this to suit our needs perfectly. The only issue we had was another guest knocking our door at 3am asking where the toilet was!

A great property for a short stay in Nottingham. I would recommend this property.

nice , clean room , lots of places to eat within walking distance was not happy about the |£40 deposit i had to pay when i got to the hotel which is not explained on the booking form

Very synthetic bedding, hot and uncomfortable. I was in a room with some kind of motor on the other side of the wall that ran intermittently throughout the night. The shower (along the corridor) was useless ran hot and cold and no power to speak of. Even at £80 for the night not worth the money.

Overall it was good. The bed was comfy. I wasn't prepared for it being on the second floor with steep steps and no lift.

The hotel was hard to find, it’s in a corner and not very clear on Google maps. I called the reception for help, he was very rude. I stood outside in the rain.
On entering the hotel, I didnot feel safe and requested if I could cancel the room. The rude receptionist told me I wouldn’t be refunded as it’s my business and hotels.com. At this point I had not option than to stay where I was uncomfortable.
The Room pictures are deceptive. The heating was not working just warm. The kettle was broken. The room had unpleasant smell. I generally felt unsafe.
Not to forget, the receptionist surprised me by asking for £40 deposit before entering the room. He said I would get it back after 3 to 5 working days. It’s now 10 days plus.

Where to start... stood in the street until someone lets you in. No lift, very narrow stairs. Forced to pay for a "damage waiver"...I'm mid 60's and on my own??. Tiny room, NO en suite..shared bathroom. Sat on the bed, went straight through the mattress and landed on the wooden slats...no sleep. WiFi didn't work..Flat screen TV, smaller than my laptop..No card entry, just a ridiculous amount of keys to take with you..I paid £75 for the privelege, won't be going there again

The check-in arrangements were bizarre and not permitted after 21:00 which meant I had to change my plans. This is not really a hotel. It is a room with no overnight staff. No breakfast facilities. I was asked to pay a damage deposit on arrival. I couldn't find it at first as it looked like a house.
The room was ok. But the pictures make it look better than in reality.
It was quiet and clean.

When I arrived at the property I was greeted by what can only called a rude member of staff. The man clearly didn't want to be there. After lugging my bags to the second floor (with no help from the man) I arrived at the room that was clean well furnished and tiny (so small there was no place for the suitcase but to take up a third of the floor). After explaining how a shower worked the man then expected a (refundable) security deposit. Luckily I was in town to work and only needed to sleep in the place. The cherry on the mouldy cake was at 3am on my second to last night I was awoken by a loud gurgling sound. This was the sound of sewage water backing up into my shower tray (somebody somewhere else in the building had flushed their toilet). The stench was terrible. The only way I could purge the smell from the room was to prop the window open with a coat hanger. I will NEVER visit this establishment again.

Offered room not anywhere near what is seen on pics. The guy is so rude, has no customer care, information on hotel.com is so misleading. The room is dirty and tiny looks like a toilet converted into a sleeping space, carpets dirty. I raised my concern straightway but he pretended as if he doesn't speak or hear English. They also claim to have parking which they don't.

Property has an excellent location. Close to the castle and center

Perfect for exploring Nottingham. Beware that the TV reception is variable to say the least!

Helpful manager who upgraded my room free of charge
Not enough sockets by bed
Close to centre
Next to late night restaurant so can be noisy depending on room
Nice looking rooms

The Robin 7 can't get over the fact there is no Reception and you have to arrange to be there when the 'Receptionist' can be there to let you in. When you've finished a day's work and are checking in you simply don't want this type of hassle. The room is basic and I couldn't get much of a signal on the TV but, worst of all, there was no ensuite, so you get the key to the bathroom down the hall! I didn't think places like this still existed. I was in Nottingham on business and charge my client for my accommodation and, frankly, I don't really need this lack of service. What made it worse for the Robin 7 though, was I returned to Nottingham three days later and stayed in an excellent hotel just 30 seconds away and for only a few ££ more than I paid for this place. I suppose some may like it's quirky values but - not for me, thanks!

Nice place to stay, when you eventually get to your room, but front of house is a bit of a nightmare, not just because the place in unmanned and you have to book a time to check in and only if that coincides with their available times. Better to pay a bit more for full service.

no note when booking that you have to inform them of your arrival as there is no check in 20 mins left waiting in the street !! bathroom although private was seperate to the bedroom , the room didnt smell good.
sadly the plus was the guy who turned up to check me is was very friendly if this had been £50 a night id understand the quality. ps room was unbelievably hot and window only opened 6 inches.

Robin 7 lodge was more like staying in a hostel !
Our room was dingy and had an awful smell . The carpet felt dirty . The room was very stuffy and the windows were painted shut . We had to leave the door open to get some air .
The room was painted bright red , with a brown carpet and various checked bed covers .
The bathroom was across the corridor , we were given a separate key for that!
We had little or no contact with any staff , in fact we only saw one member of staff , the guy who gave us the key !!!
We couldn’t wait to leave .
At £149 plus £14 to park round the corner , I would say this was a bad experience and would not recommend this ‘hotel’ to anyone . The photographs of this hotel do not give an honest representation .

Hotel was clean and tidy and had some quirks, the beds were not very comfy and as we were at the top it was so hot, a fan or air con needed for sure especially as it wasn't even scorching heat outside.

The hotel guy semi rude and he was not really helpful. Also he told me he sent me a email about calling ahead so someone can be there and so they know I was still coming. I will not be going back to that place.

The hotel is centrally located and clean but could probably be more accurately described as a B&B than a hotel, there is no reception, stairs as you enter which takes you to landings with rooms on. This wasn't necessarily negative, I just think it is important to consider when comparing with other hotels.
The washing powder used left the sheets smelling slightly unpleasant, not unclean but definitely quite overpowering for such a small room. The tv, wifi, hairdryer and kettle all worked fine and there were enough sockets in the room to charge phones/laptops etc. There wasn't access to an iron which though not advertised, would improve the experience.
Finally I was told to pay a £30 deposit on arrival to protect against any theft/damage etc. I would have liked to have been informed about this before arrival, however the amount was never debited from my account, meaning the process was creating a £30 security rather than paying than having it returned, which I don't really have any complaints about.
In sum, Robin 7 is a nice enough place to stay, however at almost £50 for one night during the week, I think it is relatively expensive.

It was ok.. bed was small and mattress had lost its spring.. but I slept ok. Room was compact but had all I needed.

It doesn't look much from the outside but the room and en suite were clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Whilst the room is small it has everything you need including tea and coffee making facilities, a mini-bar and a decent hanging space too. The room was cozily warm which surprised me with a single-glazed window.
The only downside was the intruder alarm across the street at 5am which the hotel cannot be blamed for but the single glazed window did little to keep the sound out.
Small and compact but quirky and unobtrusive, perfectly located for a business overnight stay.

Excellent service - made to feel very welcome - shown to room and everything explained clearly. Room was simple, but clean, well presented, and had free tea/coffee - always a positive! Only downside was the renovation work being carried out on an adjacent building - which began at about 7.30 in the morning, and provided my wake up alarm!!

Very happy with the quality of the room and service.
