WiFi conection

Spacious apartment with everything you need, including a washing machine. Under the eaves, with very high peak, lots of light. Access to a patio / garden out the back door. The garden is not well-kept, but it is still nice. The bed was comfortable. The shower and bath tub were great. There is a dishwasher. We cooked a couple of dinners and found basics of oil, vinegar, salt and pepper. The espresso machine worked and the hosts left us enough beans to get started. You should ask what kind of beans to get if you don’t know. We bought the wrong kind. The view out the front is of other rooftops and dormers. From the back you can see Schloss Thun, the castle. You can climb the steps through the back gardens to get to the castle. There are great views from up there. The hosts were friendly and helpful. They run the restaurant downstairs. If you arrive when the restaurant is open, you may need to find them in there to get in. Make sure to confirm your check-in time, as there is not always someone there to let you in.

There is a fair bit of noise that comes up from the street. This is a feature of staying in the center of town where there are bars and restaurants open late. The weather was warm, so we needed to have the windows open. My husband had a hard time falling asleep due to the noise. I wear ear plugs and it did not bother me. No air conditioning. WiFi was weak or non-existent. We used cellular data to access the internet, but if you don’t have a plan with enough data it could be difficult. As many people have said, you need to be comfortable climbing 3 sets of spiral stairs every time you go in or out. We are about 60 and in reasonable shape, and did not find this too difficult, but don’t book if you are unsteady on your feet or don’t have the stamina.
