Beautiful building and hotel room, great claw foot tub! Fantastic restaurant/pub with the greatest staff. Highly recommend!

Its a neighborhood bar. No front desk, no security, no where to get out and walk. This shouldnt be on Expedia.

This is a cute boutique hotel. It's part of the pub and takes you back in time to a different era. Our room was a charming suite with a copper bath tub, a skylight in the living room, and our own private patio with a living room setup. Rooms were romantic and comfy. We'll definitely return. Note, there are no elevators in this hotel. We were on the second floor so we only had to haul our luggage up one flight but that could've been more burdensome if we had to walk up another flight.

I'd say the reviews were a bit scrubbed or over rated. It was ok. Staff aloof. Not sure i'd stay again.

Nice set of rooms, private, well appointed, terrific shower, & great area. Looking a bit tired (marks on carpet, sink tap handle falls off) & no breakfast Sat morning till 8.30am a bit disappointing.

Old fashioned property with modern facilities. Carpet could have been cleaner and the sofa had stains on it. Great location. Friendly helpful staff. I liked the place. I did break my toe on the bed leg but that was my fault not the hotels.

Lovely little hotel, friendly staff, room was really nice with a comfy bed. Air con unit made a weird noise every now and then but apart from that couldn’t fault it

I really liked the room we were presented with, bath in the room, mini bar well stocked and above a pub, which we stayed during the week and wasn't noisy at all. Robes in room and food downstairs, nice touch. Worth the money, the check in was easy, there was mild confusion with trying to take food up to our room for my daughter who was wanting to take a bath, but other than that is was a GEM of a stay and will recommend! The tea and expresso in room were complimentary.

Lovely comfortable room with everything we needed and much nicer than staying somewhere more generic.

Absolutely gorgeous Market Suite, far better than the pictures showed! Heated floor in bathroom with the most glorious huge copper bath with lashings of very hot water. Full size bottles of shower gel/foam, shampoo and condition for both the bath and the large walk in shower. Super sweet little sitting room with plumfy sofa and a natty little roof terrace complete with plastic grass and seating for a smoke with your Gin & Tonic. Great super king bed and black out curtains throughout. The aircon was marvellous as was the heating mode. XL Bathrobes, huge white towels, great coffee pod machine and lots of lovely glassware j

Lovely decor and the vintage bath and basins were a real plus. The balcony garden was a welcome surprise.

Friendly and easy-going staff. I was able to leave my bag for a time because the room wasn’t ready and I had to be out at a workshop. Everyone I encountered was pleasant and responsive. My room was large—the bathroom enormous, with a modern shower and a lovely old claw foot tub. It was a walk-up to the room (not a problem for me but others may want to know) and there was a step in the bathroom as well. Location was terrific: close to two different Tube stops, walking distance to a number of cafes and shops, decent pub just downstairs, and a street of food stalls during lunchtime close-by. I love being in the old City of London. My only critique: the WiFi wasn’t as reliable as I would have liked. I had to set up an account on the network because the secure connection wasn’t working or didn’t reach my room. Also, it can be a bit loud until the pub closes at 11:00 if you are in the front room near the street.

Lovely and big room, lots of nice product to use and plenty of towels. The curtains were a bit damaged making it difficult to close them, including a broken skylight blind otherwise apart from the bed being a bit hard it was a good quality room and an enjoyable stay. I particularly liked that the rooms were separated from the pub so you didn't have to go through the bar to your room.

It's fun staying at a pub. Fox & Anchor has done a really great job on the rooms, pretty bathrooms. Problem was the cigarette smoke wafting in from the sidewalk smokers 2 floors below. Even seeping through closed windows. And very noisy, with 24 hour construction happening in the area. Ask for alternative wifi if Guest Wifi doesn't reach your room.

Fantastic little spot, bit noisey outside but that has nothing to do with the excellent spit that is Fox and Anchor. Will come back.

The shower leaked all over the floor and hand towels were needed to stem the flow going into the bedroom, the toilet wasn’t clean and had stains and hairs on which were not from me. Breakfast and staff we’re very good but what you see in the hotel details are not quite lived up to within the room. For 2 nights it was expensive compared to others that were available and the little extra niche things that are shown with the decor and bath etc are not in all rooms. I had the decor but no batch and as stated the shower was a complete let down.

Great location and place to stay. My only quibble is the shower was not warm enough (i.e. luke warm) and the eggs and toast for breakfast were cold. If you cannot cope with stairs watch out. I was on the third floor.

Fox & Anchor is a lovely pub conveniently located in central London -- yet the rooms are still very quiet. The rooms are stylishly decorated with modern details and the giant copper tub makes a hot bath a great treat to unwind after a busy day sight-seeing. Rooms are comfortable and reasonably priced.Wifi is strong and so is the water pressure with plenty of hot water. It's a 5-minute walk from the Tube but on a fairly quiet dead-end street. A couple things to note: the rooms are up one or two flights of somewhat narrow stairs and there is no lift -- keep it in mind if mobility is a concern. Also, I arrived late my first night after coming into Heathrow at 9pm and the pub was closing in about 20 minutes (at 11pm) after my arrival. Since check-in happens at the pub, if you get there after 11pm you may miss your opportunity to check in at all. If those two points aren't a concern for you, I can definitely recommend this as a great place to stay!

Unique hotel in a well situated area. We were attracted to this property because of it being situated over a classic London pub in a good neighborhood. We were not disappointed in this, the pub was very cool and classic and the location very convenient. We had several meals (and beers) here. The room was well appointed in a classic English decor and we looked onto the street through classic bay window with diamond grid pattern that I’m sure is original. A word of caution though, it is across the street from two very popular night spots. The festivities go well into the evening and while it didn’t bother us, others might find it annoying. The bed was just OK in terms of comfort and the provided pillows were awful. Finally, be aware that access to the rooms is via a narrow, steep staircase.

Everything is perfect! Nice room and nice bar with excellent food! Staffs are also nice and helpful. And there's no noise at night at all though there is a bar downstairs (maybe the reason is that my room is on the 2nd floor rather than 1st floor.) Would come back in the future XD

Lovely room, clean and had a nice personal feeling. Staff lovely.

We had the ‘Smithfield’ room which was at the top and the front of the pub, so it was a little noisy from revellers in the street below and the market opening up in the morning. However, the room was lovely, the bed was comfortable and it felt really snug and luxurious. The room was pretty big considering the building’s dimensions. Would stay again!

Lovely boutique hotel in a great location, great for short stays. Unfortunately the television didn't work at all (no input from sky or aerial) and the staff were not able to fix this, Disappointing given the price.

Friendly and efficient check in. Nice room with lots of space, not the normal London city shoebox. Quirky features and classy fittings. Furniture a little tired and worn but clean. Sofa and carpet had some dubious stains that need attention. A quiet and cool nights sleep on a large and comfortable bed.
