It’s really convenient for Buxton, Chapel en le Frith and all the Peak District. Cleanliness was off the scale. It was 30 degrees outside but cold indoors. Parking was great for a mini.

I was in Buxton on a business exhibition at Hillhead Quarry. The location was perfect. The accommodation was excellent.

I was the first person to stay at Quarry Cottage since it being listed on booking.com, so everything had that new, fresh feel about it. The facilities were great and it was a nice comfortable place to stay. It's a little out of the way from everything which was perfect for me (may not appeal to others) and there are lots of little walks (and bigger walks!) very close by. The house is located alongside a reasonably busy road and in close proximity to a large working quarry (immediately evident from a quick look at Google Maps) but it's very quiet inside thanks to the tick stone walls. The communication from Joan the host was excellent and getting into the place was a doddle.

Would have loved a log burner, but to be honest the electric imitation was just as welcome and much less of a faff. Had a few minor issues during the stay but I'd say these were just initial teething problems....again I was the first person to stay. As a final note, I wish more of the pubs in the area were actually open on a Wednesday :D
