Quiet comfortable place to relax.

Almost everything at this hotel is high class. I say almost because there were two disappointments: the lack of a mirror in the bathroom is/was hard to understand and accept; this was one disappointment. The other was the dinner option at their in house restaurant; much better options (not to mention the price) nearby in town.

This is a great property that is located close to restaurants, Douro river boat rides, and wineries. All rooms have excellent views and the property has very nice amenities. There are also hiking trails close by that are safe. We would definitely stay here again. The only odd thing about the property is that the staff was not as friendly as every other hotel we stayed in during our two week vacation(there were seven). It was off-putting not to have them say hello when we entered the lobby but it wasn't a deal breaker for us either; just odd. FYI, as a VIP property they did upgrade us when we reminded them of our benefit and received a nice bottle of wine.

Beautiful property with great views, excellent staff. Convenient walk to town and at least one or two Quinta's (vineyards). Lovely pool and deck. Outdoor patio bar. Only not: breakfast and dinner menu pricey. But food excellent.

Beautiful property with fabulous views from patio and balcony. Very good breakfast with best pasteries we've had in Portugal. Great staff and very good food both on the patio and the restaurant. We have been in 7 hotels during our trip in Portugal and this is by far the most impressive so far...5 star accomodations.

Fantastic location overlooking the river. If relaxing in a luxury accommodation is what you are after, this is the hotel for you. Food and beverage options are fantastic. The only downside was the walk to your room with your luggage was long and difficult.

This supposed 5 stars hotel charged us 368 euros per night, but offers zero amenities, they do not have a SPA, the rooms are old, the river view was blocked by trees, no elevator to access to the rooms, and the grand finale was the train passing each hour making the building tumble. We decided to leave the hotel and change into a better one.

Beautiful property in a wonderful location. The staff was very nice and professional. We had great experience and enjoyed our stay. The food quality in restaurant for dinner was sub par for a high end property and the prices they are charging. The restaurant staff was nice and ambiance was great.
