This place was such a charming find! Recently renovated with a fun tiki vibe, it felt fresh and inviting. The rooms include microwaves, which was perfect for our kiddo who loves snacking on popcorn. We stayed in a cozy 2-room, 1-bath unit that suited our family of five (2 adults and 3 kids aged 16, 14, and 9) wonderfully. While there are no elevators, the upstairs location added to its charm and worked well for us.
As a parent, with a kiddo on the spectrum, I especially appreciated the convenience of having a fully stocked kitchen (plates, glasses, pots, pans, utensils). It made it easy to prepare light meals and snacks, which helped us feel right at home. The complimentary continental breakfast with coffee was another nice touch.
We were in town for a soccer tournament at the SoCal Sports Complex, and the short drive back and forth was a huge plus. The location near the beach was fantastic, with lots of cute restaurants nearby. Parking can be a challenge, but once you find a spot, it’s best to leave your car and explore on foot.
The pool was clean, and while labeled as heated, my kids found it a bit chilly—though it was November, so that’s understandable. Overall, it was a delightful stay, and we’d love to return!

Amazing! We booked last minute and were surprised that it was available over Thanksgiving. The grounds are beautiful! It felt like a sanctuary with all the palm trees and lush gardens! We enjoyed our evenings by the firepits and loved walking to nearby restaurants. Did I mention it’s across from the beach?! Definitely going back on my next trip to Carlsbad🙂

Property was very clean and very exotic looking and very quiet. Beach was literally across the street and everything is walking distance. A great place to get away from the normal.

My family and I were there for 3 nights. The location is very convenient and walking distance of all the venues such as shopping, restaurants, beach, bike paths. We were on the first floor of the property therefore the guests staying upstairs were very noisy. That is the only downfall of our stay. Rooms are very comfortable but need to have a/c in each room as only living room have it.

Parking is a hassle, but at night the town quiets down and it’s easy to find a spot.
They provide beach towels and boogie boards and have outside showers to rinse off. All bonuses!

You really feel transported on your vacation at Ocean Palms. The grounds are beautiful. Rooms are comfortable. It’s convenient to pick up towels, chairs, boogie boards and more each day at the front desk. Close to the beach and walkable to many shops and restaurants. We love the resort and will return again.

We were so happy to find this place, short walk right down to the beach, kitchenette and separate rooms. Perfect for a family getaway. The grounds were gorgeous, will need to make it an annual trip.

This is a very beautiful location and the grounds are beautiful- the room needs a bit of work - I know it’s a location by the sea which creates its own headaches but the toilet in the bathroom was loose and since we got in late and had dinner plans didn’t notice till after we got back and thought I was on a ship when using the facilities. The rest of the room just seemed a little worn. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and the overall experience was good just needs a few tweaks to justify the price

Great location and so close to the beach. Very friendly staff. Loved how they are well stocked with all the beach gear- boogie boards, chairs, toys and towels..the resort is itself very charming .. love the bonfires every evening..

So close to public beach access! The hotel had many included amenities like grab and go breakfast. They had beach/pool towels, beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, and hair dryers to borrow at no charge. The staff was friendly and helpful. Fire pits were lit in the early evening to enjoy. Can’t wait to return!

The property has a beautiful tropical atmosphere. The room upgrades are great. The only thing was that I didn't see an outlet with ability to plug in your phones, etc.

The office closes at 10pm and doesn’t typically accommodate late arrivals. We rushed to arrive by 10:30 amd luckily he stayed open for us. The room was nice, but the furniture was very loud (slightly shifting in the dining room chair would wake up anyone sleeping) and there was mold in the bathroom. Being across the street from the beach is nice. All in all, I’d stay again but I’ll be more prepared next time.

Was nice and secluded for the most part and employees were vert accommodating on our needs. But was really stupid that you have to go to office to get towels for swimming pool and have to return to office when done and wouldn't let you just give to housekeeping.
