This was an older hotel, but it was perfect for our needs. The staff was exceptional. When we arrived, we were given lots of information about Montevideo and it’s attractions. When we were leaving, and waiting for our taxi, the gentleman from the desk waited with us to make sure we got the correct taxi and we had a very nice conversation.

Close to the Artesano Mercado and the Gaucho Museum. Unfortunately, the museum was closed indefinitely due to renovations.

Property is located within walking distances of downtown . Many souvenir shops within walking distance. Across the street from the hotel on the left hand side has very inexpensive restaurant. Breakfast at the hotel was good.

I really enjoyed my time in Montevideo and enjoyed my stay at the Oxford Hotel, it was very central and close to all the places I wanted to visit. The Breakfast was good and all staff were really friendly and helpful. thank you!

This hotel is located in the central, and close to everything. Many restaurants and coffee around. Staff were friendly.

Hotel had good situation. Pretty basic accommodation and poor shower but otherwise okay for the price.

Great budget hotel in great location. Near all sorts of stores and restaurants, as well as the Old City. Safe and easy walk to locations in the Centro and the Ciudad Vieja. Friendly staff, very good breakfast, excellent wifi. They were putting in a new elevator to replace the very dated one currently there. Room configuration not the best, but it was comfortable. Shower super comfortable with lots of hot water and outstanding water pressure, but water got all over the bathroom floor and that was somewhat annoying. I kept having to ask for an extra towel, which they were happy to provide, just wished they had been a little more generous on their own. Room old but fine. Lots of closet and storage space. I will almost surely stay there again if I go on my own, but I'll upgrade to a bigger room; wife would prefer a newer and more updated hotel, I imagine.

The Oxford Hotel was conveniently located in centro, walking distance from restaurants and the main walking street. The single beds were small but comfortable. The rooms basic but clean and affordable, the wifi was dependable. Good value for the money!

Unless you’re extremely picky, I suggest this place

Room was unfinished, floors not done, no baseboards. No furniture at all, ended up having to put our suitcases on the floor. Arrived at 2am, too tired to change rooms, assuming that they would allow that. Got food poisoning after breakfast. Front desk had poor attitude, unresponsive to requests.

Good quick check in by English speaking staff. The room was fine, breakfast was adequate and location was good- very near main street. Montevideo was DEAD on New Years Eve!!! Couldn't find any bars or restaurants open but the Oxford were providing ham and cheese toasties and drinks!! Well done guys!!
