- location
- reception who checked me in was very nice
- no parking available on site as valet was full and that’s all they have I guess. Valet didn’t take my bags so after a long and horrible travel day I had to drive off to find parking in a city I don’t know and then wheel 80 lbs of luggage for 20 min along cobblestone streets to and from hotel. The parking garage that is closest is so big and confusing.
- It’s not a nice property like most Fairmonts
- Restaurant/bar closed for Reno’s
- This is the first Fairmont I’ve stayed at I didn’t love. Tbh, the Marriott (big rooms/Starbucks on site) or Andaz (really nice rooms) was a better experience.
- Super tiny bathroom.
- Bad view.
- If the room I stayed in wasn’t attached to a big brand name it would be considered 3star max.

Excellent location, beautiful view,
Clean and comfortable room. Walking distance to restaurants and attractions. Enjoyed staying in a beautiful building for a special occasion (in town for convocation).
Parking was expensive and valet service app the concierge directed us to use said it would take 55 minutes to retrieve our car when we needed it.

The complimentary bottles of water were nice.
The little reading lights were nice too.
Not much.

A bit pricy.
all good 👍

The staff were not indicative of 5 star hotel....more appropriate for a Denny's restaurant. The bar was closed for most of the evening.

it was an amazing experience
The city of Ottawa and its people are truly beautiful
The workers are the fair not are the best attendees I have dealt with. I strongly recommend
that I could stay longer and the pool was close but the team assured me that was just the day of stay.
3.5
The location and ambiance of the hotel is wonderful and well worth the price
Noisy kids next store.

Great location
Crammed car, taxi entrance. Curtains only for show. Would gave been nice to be able to close them to block out the light

Breakfast and dinner was fantastic
My daughter noticed halfway home that her apartment key , gym key card and a leather fob were missing from her car keys. We had the car parked at the hotel. She called the hotel when we got home, but did not here anything back. The parking situation was crazy both coming in and leaving. We gave them a 30 minute heads up when we needed our car and then waited another half hour at the entrance. It was chaos.

The location is fantastic. The lobby was gorgeous.
The Ad shows they have free underground parking, but it wasn't true. Although they have, it is constrained. In that case, I had to park in a public garage, National Art Gallery's garage, which wasn't free and a 7 min walk away ($16-$25/day).
They didn't tell us that there was a wedding opposite our room. We cannot sleep until 11 pm. The wedding guests were very loud.
The room was a bit outdated. For example, the blinder was crumpled, and the bed floated like waves.

Everything was excellent; very, very comfortable.

It was good but overpriced
The afternoon tea @ Zoe's was disappointing...the worst scones I have ever had
The hotel notified us of a charity bike ride through Ottawa. All the streets were to be closed from 6 am - 1 pm. Our train was scheduled to leave at 11:45 am. The hotel offered us no support. We did see one manager or supervisor during our entire stay.

The fairmont is about as central as you can get in Ottawa to see the sights. The staff are friendly. The building is historic and impressive.
For the cost, the fairmont is not worth it. The bathrooms in the public area were dirty. We were staying on the first floor and we were woken up at night every time someone came out of the lifts, might be something to do with the acoustics? Bathroom was freezing cold, we said it to the receptionist but it was never rectified. They only supplied one small carton of water in the room per guest, if you want more you have to pay. There is a drinking fountain in the lobby, but that stopped working on the second day we were there. I got a glass of wine in the bar and the glass was filthy dirty, marks around the rim.
These are small things that add up and a 5 star hotel shouldn't let this occur.
I have stayed in Fairmont hotels in the past but I might skip by them from now on.
The Westin is just across the road, nice hotel same location.

Fairmont Chateau Laurier is a beautiful, classic old school hotel with welcoming staff and that is centrally located in Ottawa. We where in Ottawa to see family in the area for the holiday weekend and we had lovely and
memorable stay at Fairmont Chateau Laurier.
We like everything.
2.0
we enjoyed swimming at the pool and the location of the hotel, also exterior wise and common spaces it’s architecture is beautiful.
The room was tiny for 350 cad a night, squished with barely any space. we would have to call multiple times to get robes and slippers because the staff would not follow up. The parking was very expensive 65$ a day and it was outside parking leaving our car with so much snow on it which made the purpose of parking useless.

It is a beautiful historic building with incredible views and location. My room was large and very comfortable. I enjoyed my stay and would stay at the Chateau again when I return to Ottawa. The staff were also very welcoming, helpful and competent.
Prices are high.

The staff and services were great.
The Zoey restaurant lunch menu was lacking in suitable choices.
4.5
Hotel itself is a sight for eye. Beautiful and historical facility. Location is right at downtown and close to all places we wished to visit.
Hotel's restaurant has a very limited menu. It's a very pricey accommodation.

Location
The room door was stiff and I had to push it really hard for it to open

Buffet breakfast was very good. Location is perfect. Afternoon tea is a little bit under my expectations, the items are not good enough, dessert was ok but too sweet, also a little bit too pricey compared with the items.
The curtain is not sun proof and a/c is too noisy.

The location was perfect and the view from our room overlooking parliament was amazing. The little happy birthday card left for my son from Stewart the canine embassador was adorable and he loved it!

We loved the Authenticity of the Historical Value of the Hotel.

I was impressed by the fact that the place was very clean and I love the design inside of the hotel amazing chandelier light
the front desk was kindly polite and patient during the checking
The valet service was extremely cost

the Fairmont Chateau is a wonderful experience for first timers who are looking for old grandeur and vintage style art and furnishings. I immersed myself into the history lining the walls of the hotel and what the experience would have been like for people of color in those days.
I was confused with my room of choice. not sure if it was on the hotel side or Booking but felt I needed further clarification from Booking. The picture of the room in Booking showed a full sitting area with coffee table , end table and two standing chairs but the room didn’t have this. Not sure what that was all
about.
2.0
I was put in the most remote room from the elevator (room 201), I don’t believe the hotel is that full .
The room is not up to a 5 star hotel especially the path room
