Nasty place. Not like the photos or description.

First floor, about it
Smelled of weed and smoke constantly. Shorted pillows on bed, took 2days to get pillows, cockroach in bathroom, patio door didn't lock (broken) and was left unlocked - anyone could have gotten in. Noisy guests all around. $100 deposit not announced until arrival. Feels like being charged a deposit for substandard conditions already.

Always clean!!
Not enough luggage carts for checking in/out!! Only 2 for entire hotel. There were two lights/lamps with burned out light bulbs in my room!! Towel bar at sink fell off the wall when I reached for a hand towel. The bathtub surface has no mat nor anything to keep from being very slippery!! Very dangerous!!
Mini fridg had cooling issues!! Had hand towel laying on a shelf to keep water from dripping from freezer part!!
This Sonesta has changed ownership. The new owners are not too concerned with repairs, normal necessities or any nice amenities!! Their real glasses are no longer provided for drinking from & replaced with very cheap paper thin plastic cups!! Not like it used to b a year ago!! Declined!!

The rooms are dated although a decent size, the bed was very comfortable and the shower was awesome... however with the highway being right there it was much louder than I remember it being last time I stayed here- the sound of cars and traffic kept me up most of the night Friday. Last time our TV didn't work and that wasn't the case this time thankfully... and despite the fact that they don't really offer anything else for your money there are still no microwaves in the rooms- just one for general use down in the huge unused kitchen/restaurant area. There's no breakfast offered, despite them claiming to offer one on their web descriptions... there's nothing, not even a grab-and-go option. Just coffee starting at 5:30 which you can have in your own room anyways. They only offer housekeeping services if you request them and the hotel was in a state of disrepair compared to the way it was last summer when I stayed here. There were lights knocked over in the courtyard and just left there- the heavy kind that are sunk into the ground and secured with concrete. Not easy to knock down yet a couple of them were torn from the ground and just left there. The pool area is still closed which is understandable but there's nowhere to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. There wasn't even grass on the strips of ground in the parking lot, just dirt and there seems to be a tent city sprung up between the rear of the hotel and the highway. it was nice to have the big window/sliding glass doors although I ended up having to close them and close the blackout drapes in order to block out the traffic noise and finally get some sleep Friday night. Overall, this stay wasn't worth what I paid for it. However, it IS under new ownership so perhaps things will improve by this summer.

The location to airport was good .There are many places to eat on this area
The front desk only had one person working, the manager did not assist him and there where alot of check ins at the time. He asked if we could give him 15 minutes which turned into 30 min when we finally got to the room it smelled like cigarettes Thats when the manager stepped in he goes to the room and says it does smell like cigarettes no apologies no solution the desk person apologized and gave me ferbreez . The manager did nothing! I will never stay at this property again.

The fact that the young man that helped me noticed that I was in a wheelchair and offered me a room that was better for me and it was wonderful. Thank you so much.

Good location close to a lot but tucked away in a quiet location.
Overall, I would give a higher rating if not for the fact of a strong odor of marijuana in the hallway which at times seeped into our room. It got bad enough to make us open up the sliding door on a cold night. This was not the smell of a one-time pot smoker ignoring the rules. This was the stench of ongoing, continuous rudeness of weed smokers who feel that “no smoking” only applies to cigarettes.

it’s location is great and the rooms is definitely up to standard for value
sheets were dirty upon arrival, as well as towels. the plumbing had issues so whenever someone flushed upstairs my toilet would bubble. At one point maintenance had to come.

Great value and location, clean room and decent bed. Great coffee.

Location was close to everything we needed & for the appointment we had that was less than a mile away. Room was free of bugs and smelled clean. Upon having to change rooms, we got a room with a balcony after the nonlocking door issue. Beds clean & comfy pillows. Coffee provided.
Pool was out of commission and when asked about a sister location 10 minutes away that could accommodate our pool wishes....I was told, You'll have to work that out on ya own." The pool was one of the reasons we booked this hotel. When calling the other local Sonesta by the airport, we were allowed to visit thier pool and were greeted with great hospitality. The Sonesta by the airport is MUCH NICER if you dont mind the air traffic. Second issue was that we had to change rooms after settling in due to a faulty lock on our door. Beds were firm.

Staff friendliness. The hotel as a whole was nice.
The lids provided for the coffee cups did not fit. There were no USB ports available. The microwave dish was the wrong size for the oven itself. As a result, it rattled and would not stay in position. It literally " jumped" all over the microwave. The clock in the room had the wrong time. There was no pad or pen provided as most hotels have available. No local menu or even a channel guide for the tv. When I was sitting in the chair at the table/ desk, the chair arm fell off of the chair! The wall outlets were " stretched " as a result. I had to hold the plug in place so it didn't fall out. These things were so strange considering the fact that this hotel in the outside and common areas really was a nice hotel. One last thing I was forced to set up an account on their website before I was able to hook to the wifi, so now I have Sonesta ads all over my social media sites.

Location to my work place.
This property has declined very much over the last 5 months. The front desk staff on all shifts are rude and not helpful. The exception is Sebastian. He’s amazing, knowledgeable, friendly and always helpful!!! The deposit held on my card for my stays there have taken up to 45 business days to release!! Upper management does nothing to intervene to immediately release the hold!! Very inconvenient !!
The carpets, all curtains, bedspreads & pillows should b replaced in every room!! They are completely worn out, ripped and frayed. There are many maintenance issues that I’ve reported during my last stay that were never fixed!! I requested housekeeping on one certain day during my stay & this was not done either!! No apology or effort for any of their incomplete services were offered to me. It was as if the issues were my problem!! It’s a real shame this hotel has declined. They don’t offer any kind of breakfast either. Coffee for only 3 hours per morning. Used to use Starbucks but it’s certainly not that brand now!!!
They have one washer and one dryer for the entire hotel of guests for usage. It’s not a free service. The washer has been out of service for over a month!!
One elevator was out of service for over a month. That same elevator got stuck and stopped working yesterday!! Very dangerous!!!
There are 2 luggage carts for the entire hotel. The staff actually called guest rooms on Christmas Eve/Day asking if the cart was in the room!! Called at 5 a.m.!!! Ridiculous!!!!
Housekeeping staff has declined in their cleaning of the rooms. Just a bare minimum is done these days. Used to smell light, airy & fresh upon entering room. Now I never know what it may smell like. I do always travel with my own Lysol spray, Clorox wipes, air fresheners & candles. Something’s I feel a paying guest shouldn’t have to consider. It’s a shame that this hotel has management that’s not interested in their guests comfort during a stay there.
Im not sure I’ll b returning!!

THE CLEANLINESS STICKER ON THE DOOR. THE FACT THAT THE REMOTE CONTROL WAS IN PLASTIC TO PREVENT CONTAMINATION.
THERE WAS NO COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST.
THE STAFF WAS CREEPY & NOT VERY FRIENDLY. I WAS UNCOMFORTABLE. I WAS TOLD THAT IN ORDER TO LEAVE THE ROOM WE WOULD HAVE TO EXIT USING THE REAR DOORS WHERE IT WAS VERY DARK.
THE BODY WASH WASN'T OF GOOD QUALITY!

The bed was very comfortable, and the price was perfect. We had a problem with our first room, and we were given another room promptly.

Excellent hotel with excellent location located at the TRIANGLE area, extremely clean & comfortable. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly reception. We loved the delicious coffee. Thank you, to Deidre Barnett (Operations Manager) you're amazing and kind, so we feel very welcomed as newcomers to NC.

Convenience to NCCU campus. My room smelled amazing. Like scented oils or incense.
The bathroom wasn't as clean as it should be. I found a fishing hook and a phone case in the night stand draw which means it wasn't inspected and cleaned. No breakfast option. The coffee didn't have flavored cream options. If no breakfast, at least a decent coffee bar would be nice. The hotel promotes non-smoking but feet from the front desk smelled of cigarettes and my floor smelled like weed smoke. Its definitely a smoking property.
2.5
The hotel had a nice, well maintained appearance. The staff were nice and professional, including housekeeping.
Unfortunately, despite the nice appearance, my son slept on a sofa pullout bed and got no less than 12 bites from I assume bed bugs. My wife and I slept on the primary King bed and didn't get bit. I expect better from a decent hotel like this. If not for this bed bugs, I would have rated it a 7-8.

It was very nice and well kept on the inside. Pool is decent size for the type of hotel it is.
The tv didn’t work and my room had a microwave while my friend had a roommate in her room and her tv also didn’t work.
