We loved how close it was to the Ocean

The bed was a little stiff

Enjoyed the hot tub and the relaxation area. Live music was great.

Did not like the traffic noise from the room which faced the street.

Atmosphere, seats and fire pit areas. I love the close proximity to the beach.

We came regularly before Covid and it was way nicer. This time we switched rooms cuz first one smelled like smoke, and the whole living room floor was all wet. So they transferred us to another room where the floor was also wet and the furniture was stained. Just kind of gave me a gross vibe. The scissors in the knife set were covered in bbq sauce. Just gross. Things just weren’t as clean and the room wasn’t as nice as how it used to be in the past. Also, we like the option of the DVDs but I didn’t like how the process is right now. I like just being able to go to the machine and see the picture of what it is I’m picking out. For the expensive price, I shouldn’t have had any of those things happening. And person at front desk was younger and didn’t seem to care at all.

Room was nice and big and fully renovated. Across from the beach and huge grassy area. Loved it!

I didn't like the motion lights in the bathroom and hall. Way too sensitive and no way to turn them off. That was the only negative thiugh.

checking in later in the week, it might have been nice to receive a list of activities. We saw them listed a few places around the property and did enjoy some of them but a nice list of all of them for each day would have been helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Carlsbad Inn! The room was a good size and had a nice kitchen with all of the cooking equipment we needed. It was nice to have a separate bedroom and family room and the balcony was a lovely spot. We really enjoyed the heated pool since the weather was a bit chilly and the activities the resort had were fun!

there is little sound proofing in the ceilings.I heard every footstep, faucet run and toilet flush that occurred in the condo above.

The soap dispensers were almost empty and very watered down. Watered down dish soap.

we had no room cleaning yet we were expected to leave a tip ! why at the price we pay should we be expected to tip cleaners? Why don’t they pay their staff? When we told front desk we had no room service they didn’t offer a reduction. Amazing

The renovations we’re about five years too late. I paid $1,000 for three nights, and the room was dismal at best.

LOVE the location. I grew up in Carlsbad on Ocean Street, so it’s fun to be back in the old neighborhood. We’ve been to Carlsbad Inn several times before and always enjoy coming back.

Overall, the staff was great, but one thing that was not appreciated on this visit was to overhear loudmouthed complaints at the front desk. My daughter and I were in the front room toward the pool, a distance from the front desk, yet I could clearly hear the employee’s voice spouting off his grievances. I think it was a young male employee expressing his discontent with his job. As I recall, he was loudly grumbling to a lady supervisor, a lady I recognized from the timeshare events.

Location! Location! Very nice area to gather between pool and hot tub with view of ocean and sunsets, and had entertaining things to do during the week. Lots of beach items you can use and check out. Very clean! A few steps to the beach and underground parking. Walking distance to Cafe Topes for breakfast, must try Crack Benedict . The Goods for best doughnuts.
