BAIT & SWITCH!! Usually like property; however on 11/3 I booked a Queen Suite for 4/27 for 4 people. It was portrayed as a two bedroom suite with sitting area. What we got was a King bedroom with French doors (that couldn’t be closed when Murphy bed was down); no sitting area. We talked to reception and they basically said, “too bad, our Queen suites are booked for wedding party.” UNACCEPTABLE!! Employee told us it was a Booking issue—they won’t change the verbiage on website to correct problem. WHAT?? How about Montvale calling customer to tell them they are not going to get what they booked. Especially when booked 5 months in advance!!!

Lovely historic hotel with historic furnishings and art pieces - a welcome departure from the usual corporate decor. Staff was helpful and friendly, and hotel was conveniently located within walking distance to a number of downtown Spokane attractions.
Toiletries were cheap (Dove soap); would prefer sustainable fixed containers of soap, shampoo, etc.

The room and the whole hotel are historic, but in a very good shape. When you go upstairs, there's this huge lobby (atrium) and the rooms are positioned around that. Really cool! Bathroom was great too.
No breakfast options - but well, there's great coffee next door, so no problem to find something.

Spacious room, very clean, comfortable beds, In room refrigerator, Coffee and pastry bar in the morning. Did appreciate loading zone in front of the hotel.
Thermostat in room did not work – pre-set at 68°, which is too cold for us. Wish there had been Staff available to help with the luggage. Need a tray or box to carry coffee and tea back to the room. Need a guide in the room so we know numbers for various TV channels.

A nicely renovated "Historic" property in the SW side of downtown Spokane. My room was comfortable and spacious looking out onto downtown. An easy stroll to any of the downtown attractions, with restaurants, breweries, and shopping close at hand. I was only in town for 1 night but the Montvale Hotel clicked all the boxes I was looking for. Highly recommended and I will stay again on my next trip to town.

Love the hotel. Our room was spacious. The air conditioner kept the room nice and cool. Our room was clean. The only downside is parking. The lot is down an alley and isn't secured. But overall a great stay.
