This was a very clean, comfortable, and convenient home for our family. The hosts went above and beyond to make sure we had a memorable stay with them. Their hospitality was amazing, thank you to Shannon and David.

Our family of 5 (3 adults and 2 teens) stayed here for 2 nights. Shannon was the most delightful host. Excellent communication and went above and beyond to help us with questions we had regarding restaurants and transportation. The home was very clean and had everything we needed. The location was ideal and walking distance to the things we needed and just a few minutes from the train station. We had a great experience here and would highly recommended it!!!

Personally I loved this rental! Well appointed unit in a fantastic and historic neighborhood. Fantastic access to Tate Modern, Southwark river walk and London Eye, Burrough Market, and close to train stations for more distant locations. Lots of restaurants, pubs, bars, and theaters nearby. Historic building but modern renovation inside. Amazing patio. I loved hearing Big Ben through the misty air at night. The neighborhood was amazingly quiet for the location. The only challenges we had were relative lack of privacy - master bath had no door or curtain (a person in bed could easily stare down the person on the commode. The second bathroom has a frosted glass door, which is fine, but our daughter and her boyfriend were a bit uncomfortable with that. Also not much space for unpacking, so we lived out of our suitcases. My wife and I would definitely stay again but might use the whole unit for ourselves, such that we would each have a bathroom with some privacy and could use the second bedroom as essentially a really big closet. But probably a bit snug for two adult couples.

Everything about this stay was easy and convenient. The neighborhood is quiet and close to pub, bakery, train station. We walked to all of the major attractions. The house is 200 yrs old and beautifully designed. We hope to come back soon!

Needed a place close to central London for a couple of nights. House was on a quiet street, close to Waterloo and Southwark tube stations. Check in process was great, Chris and Shannon were there to explain everything for us and give us tips on the local area. House had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Wish we’d have had more time for exploring, maybe next time. Borough Market was only about a 25 minute walk.

Stayed here for only two nights after flying overseas from the US with kids. It was an amazing intro to London for our family. The host is extremely attentive and the place is very well stocked. It was perfect for us and a very unique and historic property. Everything was great and we would love to stay again!

A lovely find, in a great location with comfortable beds and an attentive host.

The property is in need of a lot of improvements.
Bathrooms:
The upstairs bathroom is built into part of the wall and only closed by a curtain and is very close to the side of the bed. The shower in that bathroom only ran extremely hot or cold, we couldn't use it. The toilet seat was not properly attached and moved if you used it.
The main bathroom had a shower over the bath which would have been fine, but there was no shower attachment coming off the electric shower unit, just an attachment on the taps which could just about reach to the broken shower attachment on the electric unit. That shower could be used but it should be repaired/replaced with a shower that is adequate for a house claiming four bedrooms.
Beds:
Two of the beds were extremely uncomfortable with you being able to feel springs through the mattresses.
Kitchen:
The oven in the kitchen does not have instructions (from what i could find) and the numbers on the dials have worn away so it was hard to tell what temperature the oven was on or how to operate the grill as it's an all in one oven/grill.
There were no sharp knives or scissors in the kitchen so it was hard to prepare any food. There was also only one chopping board.
Flooring:
There were multiple cracked tiles on the floor in the living space, bathroom and kitchen.
Seating:
The main living space isn't particularly comfortable. The 'sofas' are not easy to sit on and the chairs need tightening up as all wobbled.

After a challenging start to our trip where our already booked VRBO cancelled on us the day of travel, staying in this home ended up great. The location is not one we were familiar with and found that we loved the real neighborhood feel after long days of sightseeing in the more crowded areas. The local pub is 1/2 block away, serving great Thai food and providing that true local London pub feel. Shops and restaurants are down a walkway lane about 3 blocks. Tube is a short walk away. The house worked well for our family - each bedroom with its own bath is a plus, good living and dining space, kitchen with everything you need. And a private walled garden - which we did not actually sit in as we were too busy, but was a good place to dry clothes on the drying rack after using the washing machine. The Nespresso machines in the kitchen and each bedroom were a treat, with pods of various strengths of coffee provided. Shannon is a true host, who answered so many questions, gave suggestions, was located locally and stopped by immediately when we had a small issue with a lamp. He also gave us a welcome bottle of prosecco and invited us to breakfast at the nearby inn where he works. Overall a great property and would definitely stay again!

We really enjoyed our stay at this flat. It was comfortable, clean, and located perfectly for experiencing London. Shannon was great in supporting our stay, to include a great surprise for my youngest celebrating her birthday. Highly recommended for anyoine to stay there. The house and area have everything.

This was a great place for 2 couples. A well stocked kitchen and very secure.
Shannon let us drop our bags off early and offered us a late checkout.
Very generous and easy to contact.
We would be more than happy to stay there again.

The house was in a perfect location for our visit to London. Tube and bus access were very convenient and the street was very quiet. We appreciated the proximity to sites and the peacefulness of the neighborhood when we returned.
The house was spotless and spacious enough for our family of three. The second bathroom was a big plus for us, as was access to the lovely outdoor space. Everything we needed was available in the house.
Shannon was easy to communicate with and very responsive. We would stay here again on a future trip.

4 day stay in London
We had a wonderful stay in London. The property was situated in an ideal area, close to everything. The home was comfortable, well appointed and clean.

Close to all Downtown London landmarks and attractions
The owner is absolutely the most helpful property manager we have worked with. Answered any question and made great food recommendations.
The accommodations were spotless. Neat and organized. Beautiful accents. Plenty of supplies and kitchen needs
THIS FLAT IS ON THREE FLIGHTS OF NARROW STAIRS. The property is not a good choice if you are over 6 feet tall. There are no handrails in the stairways. Very dangerous. Also the double bed in the non-master bedroom is floor level.

Did not live up to description
Many thanks to Shannon for kindness and helpfulness during our stay. The house was very clean, as described, and the neighborhood quiet and very close to the Waterloo station.
I regret having to say that the description raised my expectations quite a bit higher than the reality of the home. As with many real estate camera shoots, the photos make the house look quite a bit larger than it is in actuality. Describing the exterior as « exquisite « and saying that the home had been featured in multiple news media and used in film and TV further raised our expectations. The house is described as three stories- it is actually two stories and a basement, which houses a small kitchen and a very small area with a table and chairs.
The house has two small bedrooms, no closets and so we had to put our suitcases on the living room floor as there was not floor space in the bedrooms. There is a step down between the living room and kitchen that is difficult to see, and the three of us all tripped a couple of times before putting cushions down as a visual reminder. The large cushions for the outdoor garden are stacked in the small dining room, and between the various cushions and suitcases the living room area became jumbled.

Fabulous base for a week in London
We took a chance visiting London after it re-opened and 37 Whittlesey was a perfect base for us for a week of adventuring in London. Shannon and David could not have been more welcoming and accommodating and visiting the King’s Arms was a highlight of our trip. Their house is perfect for a family and we used all of the spaces for relaxing, eating and working from home. The location is ideal for a family to explore London..its a short walk to borough market, the city, tate modern, covent garden, westminster, the eye etc etc etc. We will definitely return to Whittlesey! Thanks to David and Shannon for a great stay..

We had a great stay here. Very affordable and Shannon was a great host. He even found a piano keyboard for us so our kids could practice while we were away. Easy walk tp Waterloo station and to some of the nearby attractions, like London Eye, Tate Modern and Borough Market.

Great location for South Bank arts venues
The house is a 5-minute walk from the National Theatre, Royal Festival Hall, the British Film Institute and other South Bank venues. It is stylishly furnished and has new, comfortable, beds and linens. The residential street is amazingly quiet despite being only a couple of blocks from Waterloo Station. The house was impeccably clean. Shannon met us at check-in and encouraged us to call him any time if we had questions. Worth noting that the kitchen is in the basement down some fairly steep steps. Overall, the house is as described in the listing, and I would recommend it.

Dream London holiday base
The pictures on this property's page set a very high standard for the property. It turns out the pictures understate the experience.
When we choose a city for holiday, our goal is to feel like we live in the city while we're visiting. This three-level Georgian is in a small residential area surrounded by all London has to offer. The convenience of bustling Waterloo Station belies the quiet neighborhood vibe. Everything - grocery, pharmacy, pubs, a plethora of restaurants, the Jubilee Walk on the Thames, beautiful parks, the new modern London skyline, access to England's vast train network - is a 10-minute walk away. Hip Bermondsey? 20 min walk. Westiminster? Just cross the Westminster or Waterloo bridges, maybe 15 min walk. There is no more central location from which to "live in London".
Then there's the house itself. Beautiful urban garden out back for taking breakfast, drinks, dinner. Wooden floors on the upper two levels, stone floor in the downstairs kitchen. We made soup and pancakes from scratch in the kitchen - every utensil we needed was in place. Washer/dryer, dishwasher, freezer, range, oven - all modern, fully functional.
We entertained two couples for overnights - the house is perfect for entertaining. Wonderful sound system for music.
And then there's the beds. We like to get out and walk London, every small area of the city holds wonders missed on the Tube. So it's nice to be able to get a good night's sleep. On these beds, sleep is wonderful. Windows open during a fabulous week of weather, no problem - not a sound from the streets below.
Shannon is extremely helpful, always available via text for silly questions like "where's the best Guinness in the area?" He was happy to have us drop our bags and clean up after a noon arrival, even though he was showing the house to a party before our scheduled arrival time.
If this house isn't the best value in London holiday travel, I cannot imagine what might be. There are properties worth stretching your budget a bit to enjoy. The experience that is this house defines one of those properties.

Perfect Combination of Luxury and Comfort
Outstanding experience at this beautiful London home. This house has everything you need and more. The location is ideal. Quiet street with access to nearby Waterloo Station only a few minutes away. Very Central for travelling to anywhere in London. The home was extremely well kept and stocked with everything you will need. Host Shannon responded to our booking immediately and showed us around his spacious home with a complete with large outdoor patio. Beds were very comfortable and bathrooms as well as kitchen are finished with high end fixtures and appliances. Excellent pubs, restaurants and shopping close by. Shannon also had a large amount of information available for London sightseeing and tour information. He also left his number in case we needed anything. After our trip Shannon had refunded the deposit in less than 24 hours. Great Host!! I highly recommend this house to anyone travelling to London!

Very nice house and location
We enjoyed our stay at this house. It is a convenient location. There are two train stations within a few minute walking distance and nearby grocery stores. Also, plenty of pubs and places to eat. The house has 3 levels and the kitchen is on the bottom, which didn't bother us much, but might matter to some. It was very clean and tidy. Also, the larger bedroom had one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on!! Shannon was very responsive and helpful to inquires during the whole process. I would recommend staying here.
