The view from this property and its surroundings is spectacular, offering one of the best vistas of our entire trip.
The beds could be more comfortable. Additionally, the noise from the upstairs room is quite disruptive for guests downstairs. Every movement and trip up and down the stairs, particularly at 7 AM with luggage, can be distinctly heard.

The location is excellent. Wonderful view of the loch. A good overnight stay on the way to Dundee from Isle of Skye
4.0
- Access was very easy and simple with the info on the email sent before arrival
- Room was great, clean, good bathroom (great shower)
- Bed was very comfortable, slept very nicely
- Views were stunning! (We had the lake view)
- Host was helpful and replied quick to any questions
- very nice of the host to add some porridge and energy bars! Came in handy! Very nice touch
- TV in the room that allowed me to watch the Euros at night! Big ++
- It allowed us to enjoy Skye as well, for a much lower price than any similar place on the actual Isle of Skye, very worth it.
- It is true that walls are thinner than your average hotel (it is a converted house). We were lucky and other guests were very respectful, so we didn’t have an issue!
- WiFi was good enough for more basic things and get by, don’t expect high download speeds (but also you are in the nature… so enjoy that!)

Very nice and clean room, lovely bathroom with great shower (exceptionally good water pressure!), parking directly next to the accommodation. Rooms available with terrace facing the lake (sadly we booked one facing the road :D)
Bed was very comfy and rather generous in size.
No possibility to really get to the shore or a take a proper walk around. Only one restaurant (next to the property) that is quite expensive. No breakfast (unfortunately common these days)

Location and quaint feeling associated with the stay. The property view is fantastic, and proximity to a nice restaurant was great.
Noise with the unit next to the incoming door (16 I believe) is very noticeable when people come and go out the front door.

Very nice decor.
Excellent shower
Better quality toilet paper than other B&Bs used on trip (7)
Views excellent except for Peregrine Room (which was the only room available when we booked).
Please note that the review responder (owner?) is a liar and a bully.
(Items 1 to 6 below are a reply to their response/claims which now seems to have been taken down)
1. We certainly didn't reverse into his wall.
2. Would be gobsmacked if anyone complained about us.
3. The insults are clearly a distraction from dealing with the issue of hopelessly poor sound insulation within the property.
4. Doesn't know his own details, as the room IS listed as having a mountain view (albeit on the other side of a busy road).
5. Noteworthy that the responder gets aggressive at any criticism from other reviewers.
6. Didn't complain about the view, moreover praised the view from the other rooms, such that future guests would be more aware of what they are getting.
Anyway....back to the review:
Room was very hot, so no chance of sleep without the window open.
Room was close to busy road, so traffic noise (esp. with window open) a major problem.
Sound proofing between rooms (but especially to room over) was hopeless, so extremely irritating.
Pump room was adjacent to bathroom so we were treated to more noise any time anybody showered, flushed the loo or similar.
Further irritation that users of the Peregrine room were excluded from using the rear balcony, despite there being an unused (and accessible) centre section.

Our unforgettable 2-night family stay (2 adults & 2 children) at Letterfinlay Lodge House exceeded all expectations. The room's generous space and comfort were impressive, and the owners' friendly and helpful demeanor added a personal touch. The highlight, however, was the breathtaking view from the rear decked patio area. While breakfast wasn't included, the thoughtful complimentary porridge and cereal bars were a pleasant surprise. All in all, if you're seeking a serene Scottish retreat, I wholeheartedly recommend Letterfinlay Lodge House.
I can confidently say that there was nothing to fault. Letterfinlay Lodge House delivered everything exactly as advertised, leaving us with no complaints whatsoever.

Lake view
I find it hard to understand how in a suite there was a kitchen equipped but precluded to travelers (no spoons, dishes etc ) and most of all there was no dining table to eat on and only one chair (we are a family of 3)

Where to start this review... Well: the view was absolutely stunning! If you want to stay at Letterfinlay pay the extra few pounds for the few; it is so awesome. Especially in good weather: sit back, relax, read a book and just soak it all in. It really is superb!
The room was spacious, had plenty of closets and had a very big, comfy and lovely bed. The bathroom (and especially the shower) were really nice too. Soaps and shampoos provided. There is a small fridge, with breakfast porridge, spoons, teas and coffees provided.
It is quiet, relaxing and very comfortable. And we would definitely recommend!
Big shout-out to the staff as well: they honoured our requests, were very friendly and gave some awesome tips for the surroundings!
We stayed at the Letterfinlay house for a few nights. And keep in mind that it is setup as a lodge. Although the definition varies a lot, keep in mind that the room has no cooking facility and the available fridge is quite small. We, for instance, wanted to have yogurt + fruits for breakfast, but there is (almost) no suitable cutlery or bowls for that. The owner provided us with two bowls, which was very lovely, but for longer stays: keep in mind you have to think about us.
It is not a minus per se, but more of a reminder for future quests. And we are very greatful the entire family helped us out.

Location, rooms and comfort were excellent
The walls and ceiling were like paper allowing the sound of snoring, voices and footsteps to be easily heard. Sadly not conducive to a good nights sleep

The view was stunning, so peaceful and calming. Waking up to the lake and mountain view was breathtaking.
Unfortunately the weather put a dampner on things but we can't fault anyone for that.
We would of happily stayed for another couple of days, if we had the chance to book the room for longer but it was worth the 5½hrs drive for the view alone.

The view and deck was amazing. We really enjoyed sitting outside and spent a lot of our time soaking in the view.
The mattress could have been a little more comfortable.

The view. Absolutely stunning and so peaceful.

The room was lovely, clean, modern and plenty enough space for us.
Plenty of tea and coffee making provisions were provided.
We were unexpectedly provided with some breakfast, which we very much appreciated.
The room was very hot, don't get me wrong, we hate to be cold, but it was even too warm for us and we were unable to control the temperature.
We were the only people there. I had expected that maybe someone would be there to great us perhaps, but had not realised that the setup was a house converted to various rooms/sweets and we would be letting ourselves into an empty hose. It was all lovely and there were no problems with that in the end, but just a little disconcerting at first as wasn't what I was expecting.

No issues. It was perfect.

Thank you for having us in your fabulous establishment! The room was very comfortable and spotless, with plenty of space and fabulous patio doors. The view is to die for! The outside decking area is a fantastic touch to just sit there and enjoy that amazing view. We had no issue with breakfast and found everything was as expected based on the booking.com listing we booked through. We found the lodge very easily and also had very clear instructions via text for check-in which is much appreciated!
There's nothing we didn't like. But if the owner wants to improve a few things in future, the following points may be worth considering.
-we would have appreciated being told about the private water supply in advance, only so we could have brought our own bottled water to suit our preferences. However, we now know for the next visit.
-The WiFi was also unusable at night (probably due to every guest using it at the same time) but we just used our phones so it's not an issue at all. We went there for the natural beauty, not to be online all day.
-A plug extension cable for the left side of the bed would have been useful, as only one of us could charge our phones next to the bed (we use our phones/tablets to read in bed).
All the above points are negligible though, because you'll want to spend as much time outside, looking at that view and wishing you could stay another day or three .

Good location
Easy to find
Parking slot
Incredible view on the Loch or/and the surrounding mountains
Badly isolated from noise. You can hear all the other guests. For light sleepers it's impossible to sleep until other guests are themselves asleep.
We can hear everyone walking and chatting. They weren't loud or anything but the sound propagates really easily through the lodge.
Upon our arrival the keys were held by other guests following a general confusion. We had to call the owner to get the situation fixed.

Stunning views, try to get a Loch view if you can. Modern and comfortable bed, very clean. great hotel next door for meals.
Room is very small, couldn’t leave suitcases open on floor.

The location was spot on

Easy self check in, well located. Fridge & kettle in the room.
Small room, uncomfortable bed. The view on the mountain is actually a view on the parking. It wasn't possible opening the window to get some air, it was too hot in the room.

view from the bed
would have like a screen partition in the balcony area

Superb location with amazing view. Nice to have the outside deck and seating area - although not really 'private' as only thing separating it from the other decks was a metal chain. Patio heater would have been great for this time of year. Good shower and incredibly clean.
Thought I had booked B&B which was my mistake and wouldn't have been so much of a problem had we been expecting it.
On arrival there was not a staff member in sight. I quickly realised everything was handled 'remotely' when I had to text to request more towels. The welcome notice explained that due to covid safe practices, additional towels would be provided where people had booked more than one night (which we had). We were provided with a tiny 'bath' towel each - I have scarves bigger than those towels! I texted the owner to request another towel so I could dry my hair and was told that wasn't possible until the housekeeper arrived at 10.00 the next day (by which time we would need to be up and out in order to find somewhere for breakfast). The housekeeper was vey helpful and friendly and sure enough did drop towels off the next day but aside from that we didn't see any staff the entire visit. I'm now unsure whether the owner even lives nearby as entry was gained via a key safe. They did reply promptly to my message but it all seemed a bit faffy. Would have been far more impressed if owner had managed to go to a cupboard and collect some towels. Not unreasonable to expect at least 2 hand towels as well or to follow your own policy. By time we had waited for the towels and then got out we had then missed anywhere offering breakfast so had to have a very early lunch. 2 pots of instant porridge and 2 Alpen bars were provided but again I would have thought if you pay for 2 nights then you get this for both nights?
Upstairs neighbours returned home around 11pm - large noisy group who had booked the suite upstairs. They took ages to settle down and made quite a racket stomping about on the wooden floors. Not sure that would have happened if owner onsite?
Room was also incredibly hot/stuffy at times and burned myself on the towel rail a number of times.

The view
Shower drain was not working. Stood in water up to my ankle every morning. Disgusting
Wi-Fi did not work
Super super spartan for the money.
Wanted to consume a bottle of wine we brought along, no glasses available. No ice, no extra utensils or anything.
The property also looks very barren and almost neglected. Some potted plants and comfortable chairs in front of the room would do a lot to make somebody want to come back.

Comfortable clean room.
