The apartment was in a gated complex with pool.
The location was perfect. 5 min from beach. Close to restaurants café and shops.
Alvor is a nice place to holiday, not too busy and big, with plenty of beach space.

We had a wonderful time in SweetHome with our two young children. It's a beautiful apartment in a super location. The pool is fantastic and everything in Alvor is within walking distance. Love it. Thank you to Miguel and Maria who are so kind and helpful.

lovely location, apartment has everything you need - even some beach toys for the kids, great balcony for dining outside and enjoying a glass of wine! Apartment complex is very well maintained and so clean! Pool area was fabulous!

Location and pool area
We arrived pm on 29.9.22 for 4 nights, Maria met us and showed us to the apartment and gave us 2 sets of keys.
We unpacked and went out for something to eat, when returning at around 11pm, we put the key in the lock to open the door, the key broke in the lock which meant we had no access to the apartment or any of our belongings, I had left my phone on charge in the apartment so we did not have contact details for Maria, we had no option but to book into a hotel for the night, we walked to 2 but both had not vacancies, South beach and the Don Jao, we asked the reception of the Don Jao to see if any of there other hotels in the area had vacancies, they found us a room at a cost to us of a 100 euros plus two taxi fares of 8 euros = 16 euros this all took a very long time as we didn't have our passports with us. We didn't actually get into out room until 4.30 am.
First thing on 30.9.22 I sourced Marias contact details from the internet. I called Maria at around 9-9.30 am and explained what had happened. She told me she would sort a lock smith out. She told me that they would be coming at lunch time they didn't arrive until 4.00pm in the afternoon. Which meant the 3 ladies in my party had to stay in our clothes from the night before all day with no sun cream, pool wear, phones of money. This was very uncomfortable for us as the weather was hot and there was no shade around the pool area whilst waiting. I called Maria several times though out the day and she was very vague as to when the locksmith would arrive. She offered us no help other than booking the locksmith. She then expected us to pay for the locksmith!!! When speaking to another owner whilst waiting outside the apartment for Maria he told me it had happened to him not that long ago and because we hadn't dead locked the door he was able to get the door open for us but the broken key was still in the barrel so a locksmith was still required.

We love this complex . It's ideal for families or couples .very convenient for the town harbour and beach.The apartment was perfect .very clean and very comfortable.

Immaculate and well equipped apartment with everything you need for a good comfortable stay. The apartment is spotless and it is the ONLY apartment we have stayed in at Vila da Praia which offers a mid stay cleaner and laundry service. The balcony is lovely and catches the sun in the morning and evening. A nice view up into the village with the comings and goings of people heading out for the night (not noisy at all). Curiously, no mosquitoes! The shower is great, the white goods in the kitchen modern. Maria is a wonderful host (this is our 8th time at Vila da Praia) and by far the most pleasant we have dealt with.
Apartment provides clean, good condition mats for the sun loungers.
The pool area is spotlessly clean and watched over by a pleasant man who makes sure the place is neat and tidy.
Vila da Praia is probably the best in Alvor and this is one of the best we have stayed in.
Bigger glasses to fit our gin and tonic in to 🤣
More storage space for clothes, HOWEVER, the apartment is advertised for 4 and Miguel and Maria were kind enough to accommodate 3 children and 2 adults so not quite so relevant.
All in all, no complaints at all. I would happily deal with Maria again at this or one of her other apartments in the complex.

The location is great, a short (~4min) walk to the old city where there are lots of restaurants. In the other direction is the beach, which is also walkable although further.
Some harder to get things were provided in the apartment, i.e. a few nespresso capsules, which got us through breakfast the first morning after which we had time to get to the shop
Lots of plates/cups/flatware which looks new, good quality sharp knives to cut up fruit, bread, etc
Only a single bin was provided, no recycling bin, yet outside the complex was a selection of recycling bins, so recycling is widely supported locally.
It was not clear on the bookingcom website that this was a standalone apartment, I assumed it was a part of a hotel with related facilities (it was not an issue, I just would liked to have known)

Hosts very very communicative, very nice to deal with. The apartment was very clean and well equipped .... When I return to Alvor, I'll be staying here again. I would recommend these hosts if you are staying in Alvor.

Excellent. We arrived early and I just had to ring Miguel, who came straight away with the key. Very friendly and helpful. The apartment is set out well with the bedrooms away from each other. Exceptionally clean and in a great location at bottom end of town. Supermarket less than 5 mins walk away as well as bus stops for local services.
There is only 1 sofa in the living room. There are chairs but they are more like dining chairs and not too comfortable if all four of us wanted to watch TV on a night before bed. I know that most people dont watch TV on holiday but most nights, we were in by 10pm. Especially due to Covid restrictions. I would tend to buy an L shape sofa even if it means blocking one of the 2 patio doors in the living room. The balcony also does not get the sun 1st thing in a morning. It didnt bother us but thought it was worth mentioning.
