Very close to station, in a quiet village. We arrived there by our bike and was allowed to store our bike inside guest house in a storage place near entrance. Breakfast was delicious and full, traditional Japanese style. Though owner is quiet, he is helpful, answer email promptly. He gave me a paper box when I asked for my personal use. There is a kettle for boiling water, good for me as I like to drink hot water. There is a sink in balcony, so simple washing and brushing teeth can be done in room. A warm reminder to future guests: there are a few interestingly looking restaurants near by, but all need reservations before hand. We can't try. Do book.

Room space is quite large comparing with other hotels

Nothing to complain about the hotel,that's good!But hardly can I find a place around to have meal :-(

The place is a little bit odd yes, but it’s a wonderful example of a traditional Japanese hospitality (even if the building doesn’t look traditional… but 70s) the hot bath was one of the best I ever had in Japan and the food was incredible. And I paid only 8250 yen for a half course stay (1 person). And the owner did his best to explain everything (with a digital language translator).

A simple ryokan, but the service was excellent. The host volunteered to drive me to the Shirahige Shrine to watch the sunrise and pick me up an hour later, so he had to get up bright amd early to do this. They also had breakfast ready 20 minutes after return. He had a pocket translator which made our English to Japanese conversation seamless. Ebisusou is in a convenient location as it is pretty close to the train station and some of the sights in town.

The facilities are on the simple side, but still comfortable and good value for money. Just do not expect anything fancy, but you would not find it in this small town even if you are looking for it probably.

For the price it was a good deal. The location is good for that area too.

- Location was good, especially for doing the sunrise at Shirahige Shrine - Convenient free parking right in front of the building - I enjoyed using the bath - We were given chopsticks as we were leaving, which was a nice touch

- The tatami room smelled really strongly, and not in a good way. I normally really enjoy tatami rooms and don’t mind the smell at all, but this one was not good. - Nothing was particularly good outside of location, everything was very middle of the line. Not good, not bad.

The staff was very nice even though they didn’t know English, they tried and we were able to communicate. The location was very convenient for us for one night on our road trip, to watch the beautiful tori in Biwa lake. Recommend you to watch the sunrise, it is magical. There is free parking. And local home restaurant is close.

The shower can be used till 10 pm only.
