This place is super nice. The rooms are spacious and clean. The food is amazing. The view is unbelievable.

It's 45 minutes walking to the city center but that's what makes it so beautiful and peaceful. You can't have it all.

Staff were amazing, location was really beautiful. The owners were so welcoming and included me in on the new year rituals which was amazing.

Location was a bit further out so it was very quiet.

Great place outside the tourist bubble. If you’re looking for a chill time at a nice place this is the hostel to book. The owner is very nice and always down to help.

Maybe a little bit too quiet while I was staying there. But I guess that’s due to covid.

Not really a dislike but it s not in Ella downtown, you need a scooter to go there easily (or tuktuk but in Ella I highly recommend to take a scooter as the different points of interest are pretty far from each other, plus you can rent it from the hostel for a good price)

The whole Place is just wonderful. The staff is super friendly, Food is amazing and for a good price, clean and nice style.

Wonderful location just next to the rail line running from Kandy to Ella. There's a terrace looking out over the tracks and small valley beyond where it's great to sit at night and also where breakfast is served. Very helpful staff, that can arrange transportation at sharp prices. Dorm room was simple, but had private bathroom for the 4 beds in the room. Large common room, and was also able to do laundry for free. Clothes are dried on the 1st floor roof so dry in absolutely no time. Breakfast was simple, but egg/sausage add-ons available. Never had toast + coconut sambal before, or strawberry-pineapple jam! Also close to the Ella's rock hike, saving you quite some start compared to starting from the city centre.

It's off beaten path, away from the Caucasian city centre. You have to get off at the Kitah Ella station, which is 1 station before Ella, and then walk back on the railroad tracks for 5 min. Charming as that is, it also means it's remote and nothing in the area except for a small drink stand or 2 along the tracks that likely close early. So stock up before returning from Ella if you want something to eat. The complete walk to Ella takes 40m or so, which I didn't mind but some might. You should do the walk at least once though. You can always get a tuktuk in the evening, as walking back after dusk is pretty dark. If you do walk back, avoid the grass, as I got a leech once on the walk back.

The owner was so friendly and helpful! the breakfast was good and the hostel is very close to ellas rock. It is quite far from ella, but no problem with tuk tuk. it’s beautifully surrounded in nature.

The location of the hostel is perfect for everyone, who does not search for standard chain housing in the city centre, but wants a more authentic experience of how a Sri Lankan lives (it is a big former family house with a huge terrace). The owner and his employers are really helpful and know the beautiful environment (view to Ella rock) very well. There was a scooter service, where they bring the scooter to you and get it back from there, which was very convenient. The bed is comfortable and the meals delicious.

That I had to leave after just two nights because of a tight schedule.

Nice place in it’s own peace. The owner was the most helpluf man, so if you’ve got anything to ask about going around in Ella he’s your guy. Would definitely go again!

Absolutely loved the location of the property. It's in the middle of fields, about 6 kms away from the center. If you are looking for some peace away from the hustle-bustle of the town, I would highly recommend this place. They do pick you up from the town but it's not free. You can hike to Ella Rock from here. Also, loved the rustic vibe of the property.
