We absolutely adored this house and location! We typically have 7-10 women ages 39-80 and there was plenty of room for everyone with good seating in the living areas to accommodate everyone. The kitchen was well stocked and the furniture on the deck was in great shape. Our ice machine was broken but the property managers tried their best to get it resolved and responded quickly to our concerns. We are hoping to rent this home for years to come!

The bed linen in the first room the bed skirt has a nasty stain on it and the floors in the master were not clean there were peoples used contacts laying by the night stand and on the night stand and had what looked to be dip grains all in the floor. Over all our stay was amazing and we will be back but I do believe it could have been a little more clean.

We stayed 7 days and 6 nights. We had 14 people in our group ranging from 2 months old to 49 yes old. Everyone loved the house. Just steps away from the beach and about 10 minutes to town and restaurants. The cabin was very clean and styled nicely with the beach theme. My kids are already asking if we were going next year. We will definitely be back!

The layout of the house, the large back deck and beachfront location were great! It did not appear that the home had been maintained very well in many ways; broken doors, deck planks loose and warped, missing toilet paper holders, the underside of the house was missing wood paneling exposing insulation and plumbing. It would be helpful to know if there are certain kitchen items the guests need to provide for their stay. Coffee filters, salt and pepper, spices, etc. There was a local cable/internet outage in the area, and I contacted Prickett Properties. There was someone there to fix the problem within an hour, and was able to set up the TV's on antenna's for us. That was an impressive effort, and we much appreciated it. As a whole, the property simply needs a little attention and some inexpensive repairs that would make it appear much more cared for to visiting families.

Girl’s Trip
Myself and 6 friends have made Gulf Shores an annual trip. This house was perfect. Located right on the beach, huge outdoor space, close to shopping and restaurants. We are already looking at booking this house again for futures trips.

Fantastic family vacation!
We have been to Gulf Shores a number of times. But this year at The Laughing Dolphin was by far the best place for us. We loved the layout of the house and proximity to the beach. The tall chairs on the deck were a good bonus for early morning coffee and dolphin watching.

Owner should make safety checks on property more often.
When we arrived the some spindles were missing and some lose on the deck. Since we had a 22 month old that was a very scary and worrisome situation. The property company was very good fixing the situation that night! The owner needs to make sure the property is in really good condition before charging the price they do to rent.

location was great - house was not.
My first impression was the owners do not put any money into upkeep of the property. There was a large patch of ceiling drywall in the garage missing; there was a dehumidifier on the washing machine running; there were multiple deck spindles missing with exposed nails, not safe for little ones; the entire house shook and swayed when anyone walked across a floor; the water was turned off half way through our stay, the property management company was able to get it turned back on after several hours; there was a hidden rebarb post in the sand just off the back stairwell, my husband stepped on it and hurt his foot; overall, due to the lack of maintenance, we will not revisit this property.

The house was perfect for our family. We loved sitting on the deck watching all the dolphins. It had everything you'd want or need . The new deck chairs are beautiful. And very comfortable

Tribe Vacation
The pictures do not do this house justice. It was beautiful and spacious. All the beds were extremely comfortable; it was an amazing time. We saw dolphins swimming in front of the house every morning.

Family Trip
The home met our needs, some touch ups needed on some wood rot but clean and comfortable. You should dispose of the broken loungers, the rest was fine. The location is perfect, easy beach access, saw sting rays, crabs & more dolphins than we saw on the dolphin cruise lol. They were everywhere, beautiful sunrise and sunsets from the balcony. Great open spaces in the home, layed out nicely.

Very mixed reviews
This house has a lot going for it but it needs upkeep and repair work done before it should be rented out. The design and setting of the house on the beach is great. But it has mold in the bathrooms, handles of several faucets that come off in your hand, holes in the wall where a towel bar once was, and very poor skillets and cookware. The outside needs a lot of repair as well and it should be made clear to renters that it does not have any kind of cover over the wonderful deck (we got surprised with a $350 bill to get some kind of shade). It has great potential but I would not stay in this house as it is again.

Our family vacation was interpreted with Hurricane Sally. The tropical storm was elevated to hurricane Sally and we were requested to evacuate by the governor. We left Monday evening with bare essentials and the expectation of returning Thursday based upon forecasts.. Sally did not behave as expected and we were denied access to pack belongings out Wednesday night. Notified property management manager of decision to return home on Thursday. Management organization contacted on exit from the state on Thursday to request access to house to remove perishables from refrigerator due to power being shut off. They indicated they would secure the poverty until we could return. I agreed. City of Gulf Shores authorized reentry of visitors on the next Saturday to clear property with evidence of lease/contract. The city of gulf shores emergency response organization was very accommodating and ready to help. Thanks to this team! Upon entry of property I found some damage and repair crew onsite fixing beached roof and other items.. The property was found without electricity but water and sewer working. I found that the refrigerator had not only been cleared of perishables but non perishables too. Bottles of liquor were missing from refrigerator but also nonperishable items from the pantry were removed. These items included cakes, breads, snacks, croissants, soft drinks , fruit, candy and nuts were missing. Although our family was happy to receive and accept the evacuation notice the fact that our property was not secured and in fact violated is of concern. The return of missing property is the issue but the trust of the recovery crew is questioned. I have used VBRO in FL/AL area with positive reviews. Although VBRO or the property management organization cannot control the weather they can administer recovery..

The pictures must have been when the property was newly renovated. It wasn’t clean.
Pictures don’t match the house, blinds were broken, chairs on deck were broken. Trash was left inside the kitchen, previous renters dirty underwear were in bedroom. Wall hangings were missing. 2 bathrooms had broken toilet paper holders. Overpriced for the conditions of the house. The beach was perfect though. We wouldn’t stay here again.

Perfect location and great space!
This house is ideal for a big group of guests (we had 7 adults and 3 kids) who want private beach access and plenty of common (huge family room, big dining table, open kitchen) and private space (5BR and 4 full BA!). The ice maker in the kitchen is a beach house game-changer. We are strongly considering booking the Laughing Dolphin again!

Black Mold and Broken Chairs
Recently our family booked a two night stay for a quick beach trip at the Laughing Dolphin. There was 12 in our group. We were all excited based on the internet photos, the place looked amazing. Upon arrival we quickly learned the pictures were dated. The house is in poor condition. From the exterior the first thing a guest will see is that every nail is rusty, paint is worn and the upkeep is nonexistent. When you open the door the smell of mildew and mold will all but knock one over. There are very few doors inside that function as designed. Doors don’t close, are falling apart, don’t fit the opening or get stuck on the ground. The walls have been touched up with various shades of the original paint color making a messy collage of a mess. The hall closet is loaded with mildew and black mold. Toilet paper holders can’t hold toilet paper they don’t work. Lawn Furniture is ripped, torn and rusting. Anything metal inside is rusted like the fire place. Floors were covered with sand. Comforters and decorative pillows do not get washed. Window coverings are poorly installed, not covering windows entirely, nor had they been cleaned. The decks, balconies and railings are waiting to splinter the entire family & rail caps are missing on front balcony. No water pressure in the hall shower. Open paint cans in one exterior closet with no door are waiting to make a curious child very ill, rusted beach junk in the other closet with no door. The one thing that did work well was the air conditioner and of course the beach was nice. The advertising for the Laughing Dolphin is false, misleading and totally unacceptable. To charge what they charge for the product they offer is ridiculous. Not to mention a $400 cleaning fee for little to no cleaning at all. We sent them our concerns and requested a partial refund and have not heard a word back from Prickett Properties. It is our hope to prevent another family from making the mistake we made. My whole family was extremely dissatisfied with this property.

We enjoyed our stay at Laughing Dolphin. The location was great and away from the crowds. We basically had a nice stretch of beach front all to ourselves during what seemed to be a fairly busy time. Accommodations were as advertised and we enjoyed the large deck. The ice machine was a big plus as well. Thanks very much.

Location GREAT!!
We booked this house for a long weekend for cousins to get together and spend time. Property was very spacious and in a great location!! We had a lot of issues with items broken prior to our arrival, quite a few hazards to children at the property (Exposed nails, paint cans, broken outside furniture ect) Emailed property management company with my concerns and have not received any feedback or response.

We had a wonderful stay at Laughing Dolphin. We were a group of 6 adults and 5 kids and there was more than enough space for everyone to relax. We loved the easy access to the beach, where the kids spent a lot of time. We saw pods of dolphins on several occasions. We’d be returning to the same location next year but the dates are already booked. We highly recommend this rental.

50th Anniversary Celebration
My wife and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary with all our immediate family, 13 in all. This house was perfect for us. With no condos/high rises around, we had nearly a private beach. The house was large enough to handle 13 easily. The combined living/dining area was very large and comfortable for all of us to be together. All 13 had a bed to sleep in and the four bathrooms was more than adequate. A very comfortable place for us that helped make our 50th even more special.

Fantastic Experience
We loved this house. We specifically love the open concept of the kitchen, dining and living room. We loved that it was all 1 story which was an awesome feature for having small children. The only kid friendly features that would make this place even better would be a gate that open and closes off the back porch. The walk from the house to the beach was so short- shorter than any other house we have ever stayed in. We essentially had a private beach because there wasn't a soul there. The kitchen was very accommodating. The view while your cooking is breath taking. I loved how all of the bedrooms were virtually sound proof which was awesome with kids. We loved how there wasnt any extra stuff laying around that our kids could damage. That was a life saver as a parent. The outside shower was awsome! The storage space was a huge bonus. The pantry was huge. The very large refrigerator was awesome. We love the furniture in the living- very comfortable and appealing to the eye. All of the mattresses were comfortable and the sheets were soft. There were extra blankets that were provided which was nice for laying on the couches. The nest thermostat was tricky at first because it had a programmed schedule but once I deleted all future temps, it was fine. If the TiVo is recording a show, you will find it difficult to change channels if you aren't familiar with using this. Tons of chairs for the porches. Lots of outdoor chairs. Some pads for the bottoms of the barstools and dining chairs might be helpful. They are loud scraping across the floor. Again, we are super picky and this place was awesome. We will be booking asap for next year!
