Great property, location, management! The only place we'll stay when in Old San Juan.

This apartment is a gem in Old San Juan. The location is perfect, close to everything but on a quiet street. The large deck has sweeping views. Paloma was a super quick, accommodating host. We had everything we needed.

We really enjoyed staying at Paloma’s place. It’s in one of the best parts of Old San Juan. The terrace and views across OSJ and the bay are unparalleled. It was lovely to spend evenings on the terrace. It is also fairly quiet for OSJ, above the fray of the city. Bedroom was comfortable and quiet. Kitchen is well equipped, we actually cooked quite a few meals there. Highly recommend this place, if everyone in your party has good mobility. The stairs can be challenging, as the condo is on the third floor, and when inside, there are steps between the rooms.

We had a fabulous stay in Old San Juan. The position of the apartment could not be better, & we loved sauntering through the old cobbled streets. The last flight of stairs up to the apartment are a challenge, particularly with bags. We had no problem but can imagine that peeps with young children or with mobility issues may struggle. Check in was a breeze & any questions were answered quickly. We loved hanging on the terrace & watching the cruise ships sail by, particularly at night. The apartment has an artistic vibe & an interesting layout. It’s full of character & a little quirky, in a good way! We loved it & plan to return next year.

My wife and I just finished a five week stay at Palomo’s OSJ apartment. The GOOD: 1. Very responsive host who timely addressed our questions. 2. Reliable internet as I was ‘working remotely’. 3. Spacious patio with great views. 4. Tons of space throughout the apartment for storage and comfort. 5. Located on a quiet street just two minute walk from the action. The NOT SO GOOD: 1. False advertising with the patio and next door Catedral pictures. The patio pics are at least seven years old and the Catedral pic is also probably pre-Maria. The patio bricks are not at all glossy and new looking as in the pics…they are worn, dark and deteriorated. The patio walls are not freshly painted clean white, but rather worn, dirty, flaky and in desperate need for a re-painting. The teal and red Catedral top next door is heavily faded with damages and vegetation growing…definitely does not look like the pics. The gorgeous patio pics were a huge selling point for me so I was very disappointed that they are old, misleading and not at all an accurate representation of reality. 2. No cable TV, local TV reception or smart TV. These items were not advertised, but we were surprised that a rental unit didn’t have them. The TV can simply be used for watching DVDs. 3. 48 stairs that are somewhat steep and tight to reach the unit on the top floor. They don’t have elevators, so you need to climb to reach the apartment and your view. Someone with extra pounds, bad joints or who just doesn’t want the challenge to climb up and down 48 stairs w luggage, groceries or to go for a walk might think twice about this rental. We are in our early 50s and in decent physical shape. We overall enjoyed our stay and appreciated the host Palomo. Just wanted to provide full disclosure on our review as we appreciate reading them in our searches as well.

Paloma’s place is very central in old San Juan. Beautiful terrace and touches.

Paloma was very good to communicate with. The house was very large and the terrace did not disappoint. It is on a quiet street but only 1 block or so to restaurants and bars. We are both in our 50s and could use being in better shape, so the stairs were a little rough on us.

The unit was very clean and has an artsy vibe. It was a quiet area of the street. Paloma was great to work with. Old San Juan has a lot of character and was fun to walk around.

Place was charming and encompassed the character of the city. Street and location was quiet and safe but a block away from the action and could not be much closer to El Morrow. It exceeded expectations in every way.

This place is fantastic. You couldn’t ask for a better location and a more authentic Old San Juan feel

Loved our stay! Couldn’t have picked a better location! A few things I may have missed when booking!! There are A LOT of stairs to climb to get to the unit! Worth the climb but if you have any sort of issues with climbing stairs/carrying possibly heavy luggage up 3 very HIGH stories of stairs I wouldn’t stay here. It’s beautiful and we loved it but gosh it was a lot of stairs to climb!! Also air conditioning can’t be left on when you’re not in unit so it can be very warm upon entering until until is cooled off. Again you figure it out and it’s worth it but these are two things I may have just read over prior to booking!! But would 100% stay in this unit again!!

My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary. The location for the apt was perfect. It is an easy walk to get food or see any of the historical sites around Old San Juan. We loved being able to explore and easily walk back to the apt whenever needed. The apt was very clean and had everything we needed. The view from the private balcony was gorgeous, hard to do it justice with pictures. There was plenty of space in the apt and the kitchen was nice. Something I usually miss when we travel is my bed at home, but the bed here was very comfortable. I'd highly recommend staying here.

The owner is extremely responsive! Upon arrival we inadvertently locked ourselves out on the patio and she had someone come within 20 minutes to let us back in the unit - life saver! Would totally stay here again!

Bit of a climb up the stairs, but your reward is a light-filled living space with those views of Old San Juan that you're looking for. It is ridiculously close to attractions like El Morro and Casa Blanca, which we visited, but honestly we spent a lot of time just reading on the expansive patio. The kitchen has everything you need, and I was in awe of the mid-century modern bookshelves and closets. Incredibly, the house is even in a rare quiet corner of Old San Juan, a street with only local traffic, so it is very peaceful. I would absolutely stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Catedral! The space has lots of light and a comfortable bed. The air-conditioner maintains a cool temperature. We had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Palerma is helpful and responsive.

Just as pictured Elegant and so comfortable with an actual king size bed. Lovely patio. Paloma has great tips for local eateries. Recommend for romantic city get away.

The entire process was made very simple and the manager answers any questions you might have very quickly. Overall great experience.

We loved our stay in Old San Juan. Beautiful location, nice apartment. It has character, nice art and books, well outfitted kitchen, although we did not cook. Our only comment is that the cleaning between guests could be more thorough and there are a few minor maintenance issues, like light bulbs out and a leak in the roof and under the bathroom sink that should be attended to.

Todo lo que necesitas en medio del casco antiguo del Viejo San Juan. Excelente y tranquila ubicación, perfecto para descansar aunque estés en medio de las Fiestas de San Sebastián. Esto te permite tener a pasos, un ambiente festivo y a la vez, un ambiente tranquilo. El apartamento tiene todo lo necesario, además de estar cerca de lugares históricos e importantes, supermercados, tiendas y restaurantes. La dueña y su administradora fueron muy amables y diligentes. Definitivamente, me encantaría volver.

Paloma's place is beautiful and also stylishly decorated and full of light. The bedroom is cozy with plenty of linens, etc. Air conditioner is powerful and quickly cools the apartment. It is located on a quiet and charming street, very close to the main tourist sites of Old San Juan yet providing a peaceful refuge. Neighborhood feels very safe and secure. It is extremely convenient to El Morro and also to a pleasant fountain/water play area next to La Ballaja where our kids loved cooling off and eating piraguas (Snow-cones) from the vendor. Terrace is huge and beautiful although when we were there it was too hot to use it much during the first part of the day. It is very bright in the living room so if you plan to sleep on the (comfortable) futons, perhaps bring a sleep mask! There are many steep stairs- not a criticism just how it is in an older home in this historic neighborhood.

Paloma's place in Old San Juan was one of the highlights of our trip to Puerto Rico. Tucked away in a quiet street, we were blown away by the bright, spacious loft. The balcony is perfect for capturing the views of Old San Juan and bay from afar. Paloma was an absolute delight as a host, very quick to respond and accommodating to our questions. We had an absolute wonderful stay here! Highly recommend!

Paloma is the ideal host. She's available but otherwise hands-off and checking in and out couldn't be easier. The property is beautiful and in the perfect location in Old San Juan. I can't recommend this property enough. If it's available, take it. It's within walking distance of everything in Old San Juan and yet a block away from any noise. It was the perfect place to escape from all of the fun and have some downtime before heading back out again. It's also less than a $10 Uber ride into Condado, Santurce, and other partying San Juan neighborhoods. Personal notes: The apartment is decorated with great art, interesting nicknacks, and a great variety of literature in the library. For new folks visiting Old San Juan, expect many neighborhood cats that are friendly and effective in keeping pests under control. There is one in particular that sometimes visits the patio and he will get used to you within the first day or two but remains at a respectful distance and is not so friendly that he'll want to make contact. You shouldn't need extra allergy meds. haha I fell in love with Old San Juan. Paloma and her fantastic rental made that possible. I suspect you will also fall in love with the neighborhood and especially the people there. The generally warm spirit of the local culture is contagious - even to us hardened stateside folks.
