Upon arrival it was very noticeable that the pictures in the listing were taken quite some time ago. The house is not as pictured, it is worn and appeared dingey. The floors were sticky and not totally clean, the baseboards and windowsills were disgusting and the house had a wierd not clean smell to it. I made the property manager aware and they got me in contact with the cleaning manager. When i discussed what i felt was unclean she informed me that those were deep cleaning items and that they were not scheduled to deep clean until the end of the month. While she offered to send someone back to the house there was no reason if she wouldnt be taking care of the deep cleaning issues. I was also informed that rhe owner specified what was being used to clean the floors and she said she would inform him that it leaves a tacky/sticky film. I dont believe that vacuuming baseboards and windowsills and washing doors or walls where there are obvious stains/messes should be a deep clean but if it is then i believe the owner should be getting those services. The location was what was the winner, it was amazing to be on the beach and be able to sit outside and listen and watch the waves. If the cleaning could be upgraded this would be an amazing stay. Well that and new mattresses or toppers or something. Beds were like sleeping on cement.

We absolutely loved this home! Out of the 10 places we’ve stayed on the coast this has been our favorite. We had two families each with small children so having the bunk beds in the bedrooms was perfect. Each room also had its own bathroom with a bathtub. We also noticed that sound really doesn’t carry at all in the house. Which was great because kids get noisy 😅
The location of this home is perfect! Literally right on the beach. It made it super easy to spend each day of our trip on the beach. The huge windows gave us a perfect view of the sunset. It was also really nice being able to walk to the Beach Bakeshop and other spots.
The home was clean and the kitchen was big and well stocked with everything we needed. There was also plenty of seating for everyone for meals which is a huge plus for us. The living room was spacious and comfy. One of our favorite amenities were the huge beach towels they had available for us! We loved this home and hope to rebook soon!

When we first checked in I saw that the carpet on the stairs and upstairs was gross and covered with many animal excrement stains. I immediately contacted Vacasa and asked for someone to come and promptly clean the carpet.Despite promises to do it twice, they never came. I was there for a 10 day stay, so they had plenty of time. After a week when it was clear they would not be coming to clean the carpet I asked for a $50/day refund for having to pay full price to live with gross disgusting carpet including in the master bedroom. Once again, despite multiple promises that the Vacasa person would talk with local management and get back to me they never did. This was on top of the property not being cleaned and ready to move in on our day of arrival until 6 pm even when a 4 pm check in was promised. Plus, the unit is long in the tooth and needs multiple repairs and updating. Cleaning the thick dust off of the fake plants, the oven and the inside of the kitchen cabinets and getting rid of the innumerable old nik naks would also be good. As would having folding beach chairs. Since when do you rent a beach house without beach chairs etc.
Sadly, this place could be great. The location is fantastic. And hanging out in the family/dining room with the ocean views is great. But the place is not healthy or comfortable to live in with the gross carpet. And Vacasa couldn’t manage their way out of a paper bag.
I rent a lot of vacation rentals. This was my worst experience by far.

We loved this house! The “steps” to the beach can be a little deep in some spots so we found a good walking stick to help my mother who has bad knees. The appliances were great, the home was clean, there were a few things I didn’t love but we would visit again!

We loved our stay in Rockaway Beach! The location is perfect - so great to be steps from the sand, and with incredible views from the back patio and primary bedroom. The home was very clean and comfortable. It was super helpful to be able to use the garage to store bikes and gear. Great restaurants, coffee shop, and market within walking distance. Thank you so much, we’ll be back!

We've stayed a number of times at this house in Rockaway. It's right on the beach and in the middle of town. A great location and a very comfortable house with amazing views.

The view is incredible. We really enjoyed watching the sunset from the back porch. The wood burning fireplace added a cozy touch. The amenities were good. I will say the bed was not very comfortable. We also couldn’t get the oven to work. Unfortunately we had to cut our stay short and the Vacasa rep was short with us via text. Rockaway beach is a great place to go for a secluded getaway. Tillamook is right down the road for all your cheese needs. Overall, we enjoyed charcuterie with beach views but will likely look for a different destination next time.

Loved this spacious home! It has awesome ocean views & beach access, comfy couches, sturdy beds & a well stocked kitchen. And a great grill! You can walk to all shops & restaurants in Rockaway. Thanks so much for your wonderful rental house.

We visited with four adults and three young kids (10,8, and 1) and had a blast. The space fit us all comfortably and the views were fantastic. We loved the provided kids toys and hope to book this rental again soon!

My sister comes out every February as we go stir crazy, out to the Coast. We always get an ocean view home, so that in case the weather is awful we can still storm watch. The weather WAS awful and the house was fabulous. My brother and sister in law came as well, and it was perfect for us and the 3 dogs; we had a marvelous stay. We had not stayed at Rockaway before, and off season it was marvelously quiet and just what we wanted. The view from the master is so great we hung out in there for sunsets and watching the big waves some of the time! Would be happy to stay there again.

This is our favorite place to stay on the coast. Just a few steps and you’re on the beach with lots to explore. The home is comfortable and we love that it is so well equipped- we always use the BBQ and have never had to worry about not having propane. Manager was very quick to respond when we had any questions.

It’s a beautiful home and has many wonderful touches. Best beach access I’ve ever had at a rental. The carpeting needs to be deep cleaned. It looks like many dogs have had a few accidents on it.

We loved the views and private beach access. So great for the children and all of us to just step out the door and onto the beach! We loved the house, which was great for all our needs. A lovely comfortable home. It was also walking distance to the town.

We could not have gotten a better location! We have rented homes up and down the Oregon coast ( this was the first condo) and we were very pleased! I would rate it among my favorites! The check in was flawless, property management kept in contact for updates, and quickly responded to any questions we had. We have a great experience ALL the way around!

Had a great stay at this perfect location on the beach. Comfortable beds, clean & well stocked, this townhome is perfectly located with great views & immediate beach access. The Rockaway area is a quiet family location with close proximity to other beautiful areas such as Manzanita & Cannon Beach. There was 1 issue of outside trash containers overflowing with trash from previous renters due to the lack of removal on trash day. The Property Management was notified but not concerned. Other than that had a great time & would consider coming back!

Such a perfect location for beach access, stunning ocean views, as well as proximity to shops, restaurants, coffee, and ice cream! The house, too, is comfortable, well-stocked, nicely decorated and cozy. We had such a memorable stay and would definitely love to return to Surf's Edge!

We had a great time staying here. The view and location were amazing! They had everything you need for families including things for children. We only wish they would update some things. The upstairs tub did not drain very well, the shower curtains need to be replaced, there was lots of dust on the blinds and some decorations. It also needs a deep cleaning. There was lots of stuff underneath the couch. Overall, we had a good stay.

This was a wonderful oceanfront home! We stayed during the 4th week. The fireworks were beautiful and the town of Rockaway is very cute and quaint. Highly recommend this home!

The house and beach are beautiful... I booked the house for two nights. Unfortunately the last night of my stay turned into a sleepless nightmare when I was locked out all night. I was forced to accept sleeping on the cold cement porch in my tshirt and pajamas. I used a chair pillow to lay on and attempted to block the wind from the ocean with the outdoor chair. I am trying to forget the horrible night. However, I'm still so sad as I'm traumatized by my experience last weekend. My only advice would be change the back door lock so it only includes the deadbolt to prevent this from happening again to another guest. The irony of having 6 beds inside yet there I was attempting to sleep curled up on the floor aside the house to try and stay warm!! 😭

Great beach access, easy walk to restaurants (plus the best ice cream), toys, beach towels, great kitchen with plenty of cooking tools, quiet...a really lovely time!!
We had a couple of glitches and found Vacasa very responsive and helpful! We are making plans for our next visit to Surf's Edge !!

Allowed us to check in early, property was clean and as explained. There were plenty of beach toys and stuffed animals that kept our two-year old busy. Access to the beach was great and the Sandy area just off the patio was perfect for our daughter. We could see the sunset from the property each night and the location was easy to walk to coffee and restaurants.

As Advertised. Owners obviously care about their guests. Loved the giant beach towel display. Be careful on steps to the beach. Deadbolt on door to beach impossible to lock. Property seems well suited for two families with 2-3 young kids each. We saw boat rentals north of the property to reach the bay and inland waterways. Would consider staying here again.

This was just as advertised! Plenty of room for our whole family to enjoy.
We only had 1 safety concern with the white bunk bed. The ladder isn’t anchored on and our little one took a tumble. So we were unable to use that top bunk.

great location and cannot beat being on the beach. Its a comfortable property but needs a little TLC. DVD players did not work.

Everything was great!! Unbelievable how much space we had. Just my husband and I stayed the first night and the second night a couple of our friends from Portland and their 2 year old stayed as well. Unfortunately the weather was brutal the first night - but that’s no fault of the place. We enjoyed a fire, a morning walk the next day and dinner in town.
