This property was the perfect place to spend with our kids, in-laws and grandkids. Location is right on the beach with a private pool right out the deck. Our only negative comment is the frosted glass pane on the patio deck door - this blocked the view of the beach and also the pool (we had three 1 year olds to watch out for). But everything was else was great and the location was very closed to lots of great restaurants.

Wonderful house. Fantastic pool. Beautiful white sand. Perfect location. We will 100 percent be back! The only small improvement I would suggest is replacing the couch in the living room ans it’s seen some wear and tear. Otherwise everything was fantastic and we’re looking forward to booking our next visit. Thanks again!

We appreciated the layout, the spacious kitchen, and the 3 en-suite bathrooms. The boardwalk to the beach was great even though it is much shorter than shown in the photos. The upholstered furniture was very comfortable but in need of cleaning. The bathroom linens were plentiful, but we had to purchase more for the kitchen. One of the 2 doors to the main level’s deck was frosted which really interfered with the view. None of these negatives kept us from enjoying our 2023 Fall Break though.

This was our first "major" family vacation since grandchildren. "Cookin Up Fun" was a perfect place for this. There was plenty of room and everyone loved the ease of getting back and forth to the beach. Having the pool was a wonderful option when the adults were too tired for the beach, but the kids weren't! The house was big enough for 8 adults and 7 kids. Prickett Properties was wonderful to deal with.

Location is everything! The boardwalk to the beach was awesome! We didn’t have to haul a bunch of extra stuff w us because we were so close to the house. The Sandy white beach was beautiful and not crowded. The pool (although small which I knew it would be) was a welcome daily relief. The grandkids and adults all enjoyed it. The house was roomy. The showers were hot. Some things in the house could be repaired and we sent an email to the property manager and already received a response that they will have those concerns addressed. Our week was great and we had a wonderful time!

This was a great experience through and through! The property management company is super quick in responding to emails and were able to answer my questions.
The house is even more beautiful than I expected from the pictures, there's plenty of space to sleep large groups and not feel cramped, as well as to hang out with each other in main spaces. While yes you do need to grab a few of your own items from the store, there was still a basic starter pack of toiletries and toilet paper in the bathrooms and the kitchen was fully equipped, we made a big group breakfast no problem one morning.
And then the beach - AMAZING! Sandy and clean and a few short steps away! And so relaxing to sit on the back porch or the balcony off the second floor and stare out to the beauty and listen to the waves.

We rented this house for our first family vacation. One of the selling points of this house was that it had a heated pool. We paid extra to have it heated. We knew that the time of year we were there was going to be cooler and some of the younger children in our family had never been in a pool and we wanted to be able to take advantage of the pool. The heater was not working when we arrived and the pool was quite chilly. The management company was very responsive and sent someone out to check on it the next day. There was something wrong with the heater that could not be fixed and according to the management company the owners of the property would not approve of the heater being replaced. A few of the family members braved the pool and swam for a short time but it was too cold to stay in it for long. It was very disappointing. Won't be renting from this place again. The management company, Prickett Properties, was very responsive and refunded the money we paid for heating the pool quickly.

The location was perfect. Being on the beach was exactly what we wanted. We had a couple minor issues that were resolved quickly. Nicki was a dream to communicate with. Always helpful, always kind. Thank you Prickett Properties. We had a great time.

Overall, a really nice home. Had a great time. Need more towels and the bed mattresses sink to the middle but that’s minor for a rental. I would definitely go back.

Overall a good vacation spot. Paid to have pool heated but it didn’t work. Contacted property manager and we’re quickly refunded the money we paid to have pool heated. It was kind of a bummer to not have the pool to use.

The property was almost perfect for our group of 9. We had a few minor things come up and the management company was great and responded quickly. Really my only complaint was, we had to supply everything, toilet paper, paper towels, Kleenex, dish soap, dishwasher soap, all spices, they didn't even have salt and pepper. The cupboards are bare, there is nothing, you have to bring it all. We were lucky that part of our family drove or we would have had to buy everything. We have rented many properties, this was the first where they didn't supply anything.

This place was great for family! Lots of beds for everyone to lay their heads, enough space to spread out, and right on the beach! Hearing the waves crash while falling asleep was so soothing.

We greatly enjoyed this spacious beachfront property. With 3 king size suite bedrooms, the 2 bunkbed rooms, and the pool steps from the backdoor my grandchildren, daughter, SIL and hubby and I had a very enjoyable time. The large well equipped kitchen made it easy for us to enjoy cooking and save money by eating in. The furnishings were not perfectly new but were extremely comfortable especially for our extended family. Although the pool was a bit small it seemed perfect for our beginning swimmers. Would certainly rent this one again.

I would not stay at this house again. The overall state of the house is in a little disrepair. You expect a much nicer experience for the money spent and from what I’m used to with previous Gulf Shore beach houses I’ve rented. The cabinets are run down and gross, the shades/blinds are dirty and stained. The locks on the doors are clearly old and hard to get to lock properly. The rug coming in from the main balcony just needs to be set on fire if no attempt to clean it in between guests is going to be made. The main balcony had an electrical outlet held together with scotch tape and the cover had fallen off. This was right next to the pool so a complete safety hazard for my kids especially. Maintenance did come out to fix this right away once I reported it which I appreciate. However, I shouldn’t have had to call in the first place. If the house is being properly maintained, this should have been taken care of a long time ago. Our pool had not been serviced prior to our arrival either which was very annoying. Overall, if you’re used to a nice beach house that is clean and well maintained, I’d look elsewhere. I stayed just a few houses down from this one last year and it was 10 times better. They also do not provide a lot of bath towels so be prepared to do a lot of laundry while you’re there if you plan to shower everyday.

House was just as described. Lots of sleeping space. Right on the beach. Have never stayed so close to the shore! Very rainy week with massive waves so was fun to have such a close up view of the storm on the water. Pool was small but that didn’t bother the kids at all. Comfy beds and furniture. One small complaint: there were no door shelves in refrigerator which definitely lessened the available space for things in fridge. Was great having second fridge downstairs though. Property mgr was great and informative the one time I called with a question.

Perfect vacation
First time renting a house at the beach, we have always stayed in a condo, this house was perfect for our family of 11. Booking this rental and checking in we’re both done with ease. The reason for only 4 stars on cleanliness there was grease splatters on stove top & a couple potato chips under a bunk bed. They were minor things and I wasn’t going to waste any time calling anyone to complain we were in to big of a hurry to get outside 😊 The setup of the house was perfect.. The pool & deck right outside the sliding doors were awesome. You are just steps from the beach. There is a little mom & pop shop up the road in case you run out of something, they sell almost everything. There is also a Walmart less than 3 miles away.. This vacation was Heaven at the beach and our family hopes this home is available when we come back in 2024!!

Great house, we will rent it again.
We had 7 young children and 4 couples. The floor plan was perfect. Kitchen had everything. Pool was well heated and big enough for the kids to enjoy it. I will recommend this to our family and friends. Definitely this will be the first house we will try to rent on our return visits.

Some positives, some negatives
Drove from MN to Gulf Shores.
Positives: great communication prior to our stay, Fantastic location, Large open living space, 2 refrigerators, washer & dryer, heated pool, nice wood tile throughout, 3 nice master suits with king beds and private bathrooms.
Negatives: the house although clean, was pretty beat up, which was evident in the sheetrock and trim. Lots of obvious signs of substantial wear and tear in the form of scuffs and dings on the walls and trim. The kitchen cabinet white paint was pealing and made the kitchen feel sloppy and unkept. The window coverings in the main area were stained and barely operational— we managed to lift them and kept them elevated the whole time.
The door to one of the master suites did not latch, therefore there was no privacy for that room, which was inconvenient with so many people.
A house that advertises sleeping accommodations for 21 people should have the same number of accommodations for dining chairs/stools. This house did not. In fact several of us had to eat standing at the counter for dinner every night because there wasn’t enough chairs or stools.
We also felt like the one bathroom for the 2 bunk rooms, which slept 15 people, wasn’t adequate at all.
Because we are a large family, we prepared all meals rather than eating out. The kitchen lacked some basic necessities. Most importantly, sharp knives. (Couldn’t slice a tomato or a burger bun.) It was so bad that we had to pick up a couple knives at the store. No hot pads were provided, (which I thought was odd), and only 1 wash rag and 2 dish towels, for the entire week for 19 people. Not adequate even though I washed them everyday so that I had a fresh pair each morning. The property managers brought me a stack of dish towels/ rags as well as hot pads upon my call halfway through our stay, but not without hassling me and making me feel like I was over reaching in my ask. I was told that they expected me to do some laundry. (Of which I was already doing). This communication soured our stay.
The bed quilts were as thin as sheets and offered no warmth. Not pleasant in January. All were chilled at night.
In the end, we had a good time solely because of the location (ocean). I don’t think we would consider going back though. Mostly based on the ratio of bathrooms to people, lack of dining (chair) accommodations, and in general, the overall lack of attention to detail in the maintenance and accommodations of the property.

Perfect Getaway
The house was large enough to fit our family of 20. Plenty of dishes for everyone. The couch was the perfect spot to see the beach but stay warm in the 40 degree weather! The heated pool was PERFECT for the cool nights. We decided last minute to stay an extra night and Prickett Properties made is so easy to add on. Highly recommend this property for a big group!

Perfect Location
Very pretty and clean beach. Close to activities. Great house with everything we needed. The pool was a nice break from the sand. The extra fridge/freezer was a big bonus.

We had an awesome stay except for one whole day spent waiting for locksmith to come so we could lock the house up and get out and about. The house was plenty big enough for all of us but the pool was small.

Wonderful property
Our extended family of four couples and seven children/teens stayed for a week. We do this every other year, and this was our first time at this house. It fit our needs perfectly. We loved the boardwalk to the beach. This area is quiet and we like it that way. The pool is very small but the kids didn’t mind a bit. I would like to see some outdoors tables on the balcony. Otherwise, it’s perfect. We will be back.

We love the beach!
This property was nice. The pool is small for such a large house but the children enjoyed having one available. Construction was going on next door so was a bit loud at times. The kitchen was not at all equipped with the needed cookware to prepare for the size group the house would accommodate. The wifi was not good and my husband had to sit in his truck for a work zoom call. These comments are meant to help, not as a complaint. The management company was very responsive.
