My husband and I and our dog had the best time. We loved the house and the location. We had the beach ,lawn, and pool all to ourselves. The pool was so wonderful and the house was lovely. What a lovely experience we had on PEI

We stayed at Silver Heron House for a week in August 2024. We completely enjoyed our vacation. Silver Heron House is definitely a gem of a property. We felt totally private and yet close to anything we might need. The house and private pool were outstanding. The amenities and presentation were like an upscale hotel. The host and proiperty manager (Carolyn and Cory) took excellent care of us, and although they weren't needed during our week, we felt very secure knowing they were readily available for anything we may have needed. One small detail we personally appreciated was the extensive collection of original local art adorning the walls throughout the house. We would definitely return. Thanks Carolyn and Cynthia!

Stayed for one week with my wife, two friends, and a small dog. Perfect for a group this size as the larger bedroom is upstairs which allows for some separation/privacy. Beautiful patio with a shaded pergola that overlooks the pool, which was also a treat on a hot day. The cottage provided some pool noodles, lots of towels, and there's a "pool roomba" that helps clean it up day to day that's easy to use.
Kitchen was pretty well stocked - we rarely needed something they didn't have but as with all rentals if you have a specific thing/need you should ask.
As some previous reviews mentioned negatives I thought I'd address some - 1) Bugs/mosquitoes: Yes, at various times of day the lawn has mosquitoes but it's a cottage, I'm not sure what people expect? Once we applied bug spray we had zero issues. 2) TV/Netflix: There is cable TV but you can't log in to netflix/prime. Again, you're renting a cottage so go for a walk, play a board game, or read, BUT if you have kids and "need" this I'd suggest bringing your own iPad (wifi was great). 3) Heat: Someone previously complained it was hot and we arrived on a seriously hot/humid day but were totally fine with the windows all open and fans on. Plus there is a pool! It typically cooled off in evenings, even on hot days.
To be clear - none of these were our issues, just things I read in previous reviews that I thought others could benefit from another perspective. We loved the place and will almost certainly rebook! Thank you!

The secluded property offers privacy and quiet so the sights and sounds of nature can be enjoyed all day. The house is comfortable, well equipped, and well cared for. My stay was a perfect getaway to relax, swim, and enjoy nature (including at least ten species of birds). The heated pool was lovely!

We had a wonderful week at the Silver Heron House. We loved the unique style of the house, the size of the property and the privacy it offered. We brought our two dogs and I think they enjoyed the vacation as much as we did. The location is very rural yet close to everything we needed. We plan to go back in the future.

This property had all it promised and more. The grounds are beautiful. The walk down to the beach with the view across the water to Charlottetown was wonderful.
The cottage is comfortable and homey. The beds were very comfortable. We were supplied with plenty of towels for the refreshing pool. The gorgeous pergola provided shade and a true relaxing atmosphere

This is our second time at Silver Heron and it was great to return! A secluded property close to Charlottetown and lots of room and beach access on North River for families. Property as described and property manager very responsive. Lovely, well maintained pool and home. Kitchen well equipped. Highly recommended!

the house is secluded yet conveniently located. It's a huge property and connects directly to the water. My dogs loved being off leash the entire time we were there. I was looking for relaxation and some quiet time and this property was perfect for it. Charlottetown is just 20 min drive away and has lots of shops, restaurants and museums. The property manager was very helpful and very responsive to any questions I had.

Last year, in the midst of lockdowns and provincial mandates, I found this slice of heaven on VRBO and decided to take a chance. The cottage and location did not disappoint, so it was only natural to book it again.
Our stay was from September 3-10. Our flight was delayed slightly, so we didn’t get to the cottage until after 10 that night. As we drove down the red dirt road feeling exhausted from travel we immediately perked up when we were greeted by the warm gentle glow of the cottage welcoming us back.
The weather that week was glorious and allowed us to spend the day soaking up the sun and swimming, and each night we enjoyed cozy nights with family.
The cottage is nestled on beautiful grounds that overlook the water and make you feel like the world is miles away…but in fact you are only minutes away from shopping, nightlife, amazing seafood restaurants and amazing tourist destinations.
I cannot say enough about this lovely cottage, and Carolyn the owner. On the day the Queen died, remembering that my mum is British, she reached out to check on my mum and offer her condolences…wow!!!
If you’re looking to discover PEI, I encourage you to book this cottage for your home base and enjoy everything this slice of heaven has to offer…the only regret that you will have is when you have to say goodbye and come back to reality.

We loved our time staying at Silver Heron. The property is extremely private, extremely clean, and the pool was wonderful. We had many hours of fun swimming and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. The house itself is very functional, and the kitchen is well stocked. We will always contemplate this cottage for our future travels to PEI. Being so close to Charlottetown was also a huge bonus.

We rent a home in PEI every year for our vacation, and Silver Heron is at the top of our list now! We enjoyed the privacy, the location near Charlottetown, and nearby Cornwall, the lovely pool, and all the amenities as described in the listing. The kitchen was well equipped, the pool clean and sparkling, and it was a quick walk to the beach for shell-hunting and dog walking. Cody was very responsive to questions and welcoming when we checked in. We look forward to returning!

We really needed a “getaway “ to unwind and relax and this place was more than we even thought we could get. The property itself with 9 acres with privacy and lawn stretches right down to the shore. There’s a beautiful water view at the end of a very long lush law. (Say that fast )😜 Between the pool and sauna along with the wood burning fireplace at night it was perfect. We ended up staying an extra night we idiot want to leave. We will be back next summer for sure to take our family with us next time as there are 3 nice bedrooms in this place as well.

Paradise in PEI
I booked this vacation spot in March, when we were in the midst of the pandemic shut down, and we were desperate to find something positive to look forward to. The moment the booking was confirmed, I began counting down the days and praying that our trip in August would happen.
As we got our first glimpse of the cottage at the end of the famous PEI dirt road, I smiled with relief that the listing had perfectly captured the beauty of this cottage.
Nestled on a beautiful slice of Cornwall shoreline, the property feels incredibly remote and private, yet is only 10 minutes away from city conveniences.
The cottage is the perfect combination of rustic charm and comfort. It is clear it was designed with the goal of making guests feel welcome, and more importantly, helping them relax.
Our days were filled with swimming in the pool, taking walks down to the beach to find shells, or exploring the City. It was truly a magical experience and we hope to visit this slice of PEI heaven again soon.

Loved our stay.
Very clean, well-maintained cottage with lots of charm. Decorated with collected original works of art, and stocked with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The pool is fantastic - heated with deep and shallow parts, so everyone can enjoy it. Lovely little grape tree provides shade to picnic outside by gardens and poolside.
Expansive outdoor area for families and pets to enjoy.
All in all, great property and very attentive, accommodating hosts and property management.

This cottage is exactly as listed. My family had a great stay and really enjoyed the tranquility of the property. All the space outside the cottage is amazing, we really enjoyed being outside!

Great spot
Really interesting place to stay; the octagonal design makes the cottage layout itself a feature. The setting is fabulous, and is very private. It can be hard to pull yourself away from the pool for other activities.
The location is great and very convenient, provided the north shore/Cavendish area is not your main reason for visiting PEI. Even then, you're only 30 minutes away, so day trips are no problem. And overall, you are very central.
The cottage itself is pretty cool and comfortable for a family of four. It's rustic, and a few aspects could be refreshed, but as long as you're not looking for an ultra-modern HGTV-type makeover, you will enjoy the Silver Heron.
If you have toddlers, you might be wary of the spiral staircase to the master or the sunken living room, depending on your parenting style.
