We stayed 3 nights at this house in Dunnellon and it was exactly what we needed! The house and the town were the perfect getaway from busy Orlando. Spent our mornings out on the spacious deck listening to the amazing sounds of nature. Saw many many gators, big and small! Took the kayaks out several times. Rented a pontoon at Anglers and swam around in the Rainbow Spring. But the house was a perfect home base. Lisa the owner cares deeply about her property and more specifically your stay, your comfort, and your enjoyment. We've done the typical VRBO communities...where every house is the same, vacationers in every house, and everything is brand new - and that's fine...but this is the homey, small town and perfect house on the river that we really wanted. We'll be back.

Me and my wife had a perfect time at the Riverhouse in Dunnellon. The house is well described in the description and is furnished with everything you could need and more. It is well supplied for both couples or families. We preferred to mainly just relax and read but the beautiful location made that extremely relaxing. The owner met us at the house and let us know everything we needed to know in order to enjoy our stay and use of the many toys and equipment available for use. She was available for advice on dining and tours etc and could not have been more helpful. The town of Dunnellon was very peaceful and has many Locally owned and operated businesses. We have already booked our trip for next year.

Amazing experience! EVERYTHING you need in a relaxing vacation you'll find it here. Very cozy, super clean and organized home. So convenient to be on the river and also near town and all activities. It was a plus that the home comes with paddle boat and 3 kayaks. Host was super friendly and easy to contact her.

Everything about our stay was perfect. The house is spotlessly clean and exactly as described. Lisa is super friendly, helpful and efficient, with great communication. Having use of the kayaks is a real bonus, we spent a couple of cheap days just exploring the river. Great location for exploring this part of Florida with many interesting places within an easy drive. Very highly recommend.

My family and I stopped here for 3 nights on the way to Disney World. I had been to Silver Springs when I was a kid and wanted to take my two girls to something similar. We looked at several places on VRBO before deciding to stay here. I am very glad we made this choice. The cabin was immaculate and Lisa was there to greet us upon arriving with still warm brownies just pulled from the oven. She was so kind and walked us through everything. The cabin is on a cove off of the Withlachoochee River. It is about a 10 minute float from where the Rainbow River and Withlachoochee meet. There are kayaks at the cabin and you can paddle upstream to the rainbow river if you choose, or you can take them upstream by car and float down (there are also many kayak/tube rental places that will take you upstream and drop you off). It was the best of both. We were able to access the beautiful Rainbow River but we were secluded at the cabin. I was serene in the evenings. We spent all 3 playing cards on the screened in porch. I highly recommend this cabin if you are looking for a relaxing trip, especially on the front or back end of a trip to Disney!

We had a quiet, relaxing get away at the river retreat. Access to the river for kayaking couldn’t have been easier. We saw a lot of beautiful wildlife. The location is tucked away, but still close to anything you might need.

Warm welcome from the host and the house was perfect for our long weekend with the family. The wraparound deck made it hard to leave. We spent so much time outside enjoying nature. Money well spent. Thank You!

Was expecting to swim (float around) in the creek. Too many gators to even fish.

This property is fantastic. Everyone in our group loved it! The location is marvelous. Quiet and serene. The amenities more than expected. It is fully stocked with everything you can need but your food. The house is very clean. 3 bathrooms worked out great for us. Lisa is a friendly, helpful hostess. We enjoyed the kayaks, fishing from the dock and hiking in the woods. Many activities close by. we enjoyed tubing and the gym allowed the young men in our group to have a free guest pass for a workout. There are numerous restaurants within a short distance. Hopefully we will have another opportunity to enjoy this slice of serenity.

This was an amazing property. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of where it is located. The kayaks were an added plus! Looking forward to renting again.

Staying at the house was very peaceful. Convenient to town, but felt like you were worlds away. Love the nature watching on the river. Lovely experience!

There were 7 of us for an end of year trip. This property was amazing. There was so much room for all of us. No fumbling over each other. The owner went the extra mile with providing all kinds of games, books, kayaks, paddle boat, fishing, pool and the list just keeps going. And keeping 4 young adult boys busy was so easy. Cooking for New Year's Even and shrimp boil was over the top with all items needed in the kitchen. We cannot wait to come back to this property!

For anyone wanting to get away for a quiet, peaceful stay this is the place for you. Beautiful home in a quiet, wooded setting and right on the Withlacoochee River. Saw deer every evening just before dark on the small hill in front of the house. Fish were plentiful and fun to catch. My family and I had a great time there. Would highly recommend.

Our weekend was a birthday celebration with a bunch of kids to go tubing in the am and we came back to the house to kayak and paddle boat. They lived on the pool table when not on the water or running around outside while the adults lived on the deck enjoying the view. The owner cares very much about her house and how the guest enjoy their visit.

Great location, clean home, great owners. Lisa is wonderful. Come here to get away and enjoy springs and water activities.

The photos of the home don't do it justice - it's so much nicer in person! We loved that the main bedroom offered privacy. It's a gorgeous location and so quiet and peaceful!

We loved this house! It's right on the river with a fabulous, multi-level deck system. The house is big and very well set up for three groups with plenty of sleeping areas and bathrooms. (Note: the lovely master suite has a slightly musty smell, inevitable on the river, so choose another sleeping spot if you have allergies like me.)The kitchen is super well supplied with everything you could possibly need, including Yeti ice packs, a very nice touch. There are plenty of towels and sheets, night lights, bug spray, honestly, everything you need is here. I loved the motivational sunrise/sunset book and there is plenty of other reading material. Lisa and Ray are wonderful hosts and answered all our questions. The kayaks were a little different than we are used to but we absolutely enjoyed our paddling adventures and made it to the spot where the Withalacoochee and Rainbow Rivers meet. You have to check it out! Beautiful, and we found a small park where we got out of kayaks and cooled down in a roped-off swimming area, so bring a few dollars to pay for admission. (I think it was $8 for 2 people; I would have paid $100 to get into that cool water!) The Hiatus Brewing Company in Ocala was yummy, Gruff's had a good Indian appetizer and disappointing main dish, Citrus Grill did not judge me for eating delicious chocolate pie for breakfast. Another delightful trip to Dunnellon and we're so happy to have found a wonderful house to enjoy.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, sitting on the deck with a good book was just what we were looking for, and Lisa's place delivered. It may have been very warm in town, but the deck on the water and the cool breeze was just wonderful. And Lisa's brownies were the best! We will visit again!

6 adult family members from ages 22-65 stayed comfortably in this well maintained home. Convenient for tubing, hiking, kayaking. Enjoyed the area and our family vacation.

Very quiet location but within one mile of town. House has everything you might need and then some. Owner provided information and tour to help get our family acclimated. Owner also provided information and map of local eateries. Worth your time to check this place out

It was a fantastic experience staying on the river. Everything we needed was right there. We were blessed with 2 beautiful days, being able to dock our boat there was perfect. Finally, after 6 days the alligators came out to visit. We spent the rainy days putting together puzzles and playing games.

If you enjoy spending time with nature this is the place. Well equipped home that is very well maintained. The owner Lisa is amazing and even had fresh baked brownies waiting for us!! Fishing was great as well as watching the local wildlife including several alligators. We hope to stay again. My 3 teens had plenty of space and enjoyed the pool table as well.!! Highly recommended for older people as well, as there is minimal stairs into the house and on the top deck so all can enjoy easily.

This property is the most amazing place you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere but your 5 minutes from anything you need. I suggest renting a boat it can get you to the rainbow river everyday!! Lisa is so helpful with everything!! The home is fully stocked you will need nothing! I traveled with my 3 teenagers and they all brought a friend we had great times looking at the alligators swimming by and playing billiards on the screen inclosure! Honestly no need for bug spray because the water is too cold for the mosquitoes to lay their lava say you can sit outside all night without a bite! I cannot speak highly enough about this amazing property I can't wait to go back!!! This property was perfect for my husband and I, kids, and grandkids. The house had all the amenities you could ask for and was very comfortable. The outside deck space was amazing, parts of it literally over the water. The area was full of shops, restaurants and water adventures (I recommend kayaking the Rainbow River, the water is crystal clear). You won’t regret renting this lovely property. We can’t wait to visit again!

Lisa is super easy to work with, kind, and informative. The cabin is perfect! Lots of space, shaded, and very well stocked. I love how I felt secluded and miles away but yet was only five minutes from restaurants and grocery stores. It was a perfect end to our summer. Can’t wait to go back!!
