We always wanted to spend some time in Mesilla and finally made it. Carla's property was perfect for our stay. We loved the location - could walk to anywhere in town and it was easy to drive into Las Cruces or out to hike from there. The unit had everything we needed, it was very clean, quiet & comfortable. I have back issues so the bed was comfortable but a little soft for me - manageable for a few days. We will definitely stay here or in Carla's Studio next time we head to the Las Cruces/ Mesilla area.

Nicely updated adobe home, with plenty historic charm. Place was very clean, roomy with a nice court yard out front. Enjoyed some of the pecans from tree out front too!

We love this little house. It was well furnished and very comfortable. The location is great and provides walking access to restaurants and shops as well as the neighborhood brewpub. Will definitely stay again.

I will know next time to ask about the firmness of the bed. The beds were not firm at all, which is something my husband requires. I will know to ask next time. Very disappointed that Direct TV was not working. I feel we should receive a small refund for this. Everything else was very comfortable.

The Hacienda Shay is delightful. It is a very clean, quiet and spacious home that is conveniently situated within walking distance to shops, galleries and restaurants. It's a quick drive to the Farmers and Art Market in downtown Las Cruces and is near to NM State University, the Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum and Dripping Springs hiking trails. We would definitely like to stay again!

We really enjoyed staying here. I had business in the area and we were in town for a week. The property is very clean.

I had a lovely time staying in this house. It was really well located for walking and enjoying the little historic district. It's also quirky, which I found charming - the floors in the bedroom slope (which means the bed does), as does the ceiling. The tub is nice and there's plenty of space. I DO wish there had been coffee for the coffee maker - there were filters but no coffee, so I had to go out for that - and I wish that there had been a first aid kit because I could have really used a band-aid when I tore off my thumbnail trying to get into the lockbox to get the keys. I didn't prefer not getting entry instructions until I was standing at the gate (wondering if they would even come), and I didn't prefer having to check emails to get entry information, but Carla switched to texting and that was great. I'll definitely be back!

The property was great! One of the cleanest we have had. Carla, property manager was also wonderful. The area had everything we needed. Enjoyed the neighborhood. Overall experience was wonderful!

Close to shopping and restaurant,the place is good but needs a few upgrades,other than that overall good experience.

Fun place to stay

Easy walk to Mesilla Plaza. Heating system was marginal for old folks staying during cold weather. The property was otherwise exceptional.

This is the cutest little property in Mesilla. It is clean, quiet and the beds are comfy (though I do suggest bringing your own pillow). It is close to everything in Mesilla and easy to get to. It was perfect for myself and 2 friends, plenty of room for us and all of our stuff. The living room is big enough for a queen size air mattress though I believe the couch is a pullout. I would 100% stay here again.

Great location for walking to downtown Mesilla. Great authentic/historic look. Wife enjoyed sitting on front porch in the morning watching the humming birds and drinking coffee.

The home is very comfortable and inviting. Great location with an easy, flat walk of about 6-8 blocks to the charming and interesting Mesilla Plaza with shops and restaurants. This is definitely the part of town to stay in for great ambiance, food, and low-key shopping. Safe, quiet area. The home has easy private parking. The owner was very helpful and good at communicating.

Beautiful and well maintained. With two bedrooms and a large kitchen it is spacious and comfortable. We also liked the enclosed courtyard.

Everything about this hacienda is lovely. Very clean. Comfortable bed. Lovely bathroom. Marvelous kitchen - new appliances, nice dishes, fully equipped. The only negative is the floor between the dining room and laundry/bathroom area. This is the only area without tile. The wood flooring in this area dips with each step for about a two foot area. A challenge for older folks with balance problems. Strongly suggest it be fixed. Otherwise charming!

My husband and I booked this property for an anniversary getaway. This property was perfect. It is everything as advertised. We especially enjoyed sitting on the porch in the mornings and evenings in the rockers and enjoying the sun. The property is newly remodeled and everything was impressive. The bed was so comfortable that we are going to buy the same mattress for our home. The location was easy to get to and we were within walking distance of several restaurants and Old Mesilla Town Square. I can't say enough about how wonderful Wendy was when I called her with a question. Very nice. She also went out of her way to make our stay exceptional. We will book this property again when we return.

This property is beautifully decorated, quiet and has everything you need. It is close to a major thoroughfare, but you don't hear the road noise when inside and, because of the courtyard adobe fence, you really don't hear it outside either. It is within walking distance of the plaza and the neighborhood is fun to drive, as is all of Mesilla. The kitchen is very well outfitted and the dishes and silverware were lovely. As noted earlier, the decoration in this home is really pretty and all of a piece, with copper accents from the kitchen to the bedroom lamps to the tile in the bathroom. The lighting is good throughout. Best of all, the seating in the living room is very comfortable - the best I have ever had in years of renting vacation homes. It was a pleasure to use. And, the view of the mountains, while through the trees, was an added bonus. The landscaping of the greater grounds continues, but what has been completed - and the bones of the rest of the work - is really well done. There are a couple of quirks that need addressing - a bit of lift and softness in one part of the floor and the bathroom could use a permanent heater. But, when we asked for a portable heater to warm it up, Wendy brought one immediately and it worked perfectly. The wiring for the TV etc should probably be handled better as it would be beyond tempting for children to mess with it. And, if you are not careful, you could accidentally catch the wires and pull them loose. But, in the scheme of things, these were minor issues. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again anytime.

2 friends stayed here for the holiday. There was plenty of room to park extra cars and we could walk the 4 blocks to food and entertainment. It was clean and comfortable.

We really enjoyed staying here. As was indicated, the adobe was newly renovated but still had that old southwestern charm. It is very close to restaurants and shopping which made it very convenient. If we ever return to Las Cruces, we would definitely stay here again.

Spent a weekend here with a friend. The house is really cute, nicely furnished, comfy beds, and excellent location - could walk to lots of sites and restaurants. The kitchen is furnished with basic essentials so bring anything you might need for more gourmet cooking. I thought this was an excellent value and very comfortable/safe - I would stay here again.
